The Retreat Cabin | Hocking Hills

The Retreat is a popular 4 bedroom cabin that sleeps up to 10 guests and 2 pets. Its located just a few miles from Old Man's Cave, and has been professionally decorated. There are 3 levels of living space, a great upper level master suite, and lower level game room! The Retreat is within walking distance of Dragonfly Lodge, Night Song and Woods Edge, so its great for a stand alone rental or can be rented in combination of others for a larger group! Must be 25 years or older to rent. AWD/4WD recommended.

My three friends and I enjoyed our long weekend! The best feature of this house was the wood-burning fireplace!

Our stay was as promised. Host provided a bundle of free fire wood and starters. Had an issue with the jet tub that was fixed same day. They have a water treatment system so no issues there. Plenty of dishes and silverware. Gas grill is new. Cabin was clean. Plenty of towels. Perfect size for a family of six. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Overall the cabin was nice to stay in, but the pictures listed are misleading, the furniture in the cabin is different, there is no picnic table by the fire pit, and the fire pit is surrounded by very uneven stone which made sitting around it difficult. There is a piece of flooring in the kitchen that is ripped off and caused

Perfect cabin getaway

Loved it! Location was great, close to so many spots in Hocking Hills. Secluded, but felt safe. We had a great time and will be back!

Family get together

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The cabin was almost perfect for our goal if having fun as a family. I would suggest more outside lighting. After dark the steps to the parking lot were impossible to see. Lights were also needed on the parking lot. The lot is small with a drop off on one side that made it hard to move a car during the day and really hard at night. We had four cars and the lot was full.

Great location for trails!

Cabin was clean, lots of towels to accommodate our family. Location was great. Very well stocked kitchen. Gas grill worked great. Porch swing and hot tub were nice to enjoy the scenery. Firepit was large and wood was delivered and on the porch waiting for us. The cabin was set down a hill, steep drive and could have used a little more parking. Not any flat ground to play lawn games. Slight but noticeable septic smell outside and in the upstairs bathroombathroom.

Overall

Very nice stay, was looking for more seclusion but it lived up to the listing. More notification on not having internet, we went 2 days without due to router not being reset on arrival. Close to the state park which was a big plus.

Love this place!!

This was exactly what we were looking for and it was as advertised. 4 separate bedrooms so everyone had their own space. We used the fire pit, hot tub, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything but the food :)

Great spot for two families of 4

Cabin was great but the outside smelled like septic every few minutes. Didn't ruin the trip but made sitting around the firepit and in the hot tub much less pleasant. No response from property manager when I reached out. I wouldn't hesitate to book again if the septic issue is resolved.

Nice Cabin but needs a few tweeks

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. However, there are a few items that need attention. 1. The Dishwasher top shelf is broken which affects the wash cycle. 2. All the bathroom towels were the lowest quality I have ever experienced in a rental cabin. They were rough and like rags I use to was the car with at home. 3. The two plastic trash cans, to be kept out on the back porch, were easily knocked over one night of our stay by a heavy rain and the raccoons tore open every plastic bag inside and everything was strewn all over the back porch. We cleaned it up and tried to secure the cans the next couple of nights. Why are you not using metal, heavy duty cans with locking lids? 4. in the hot tub, a number of the jets seemed to be broken or putting out very little power. 5. It was advertised that the cabin had internet which we counted on. None of us got more than 1 bar and sometimes no bars even while switching to Wifi. This was difficult as we were planning on communicating with family in Columbus while we were gone. With all that said, we had a great time with family. Hope you can improve your cabin so it will be a 5-star experience for future customers.

Nice cabin

Cabin was nice, but was very cramped for the 10 people who stayed. There were enough beds for everyone, but not enough living room seats for everyone. The parking area was congested for the 3 cars we had during our stay. The kitchen was small as well. The basement was freezing and the upstairs bedroom was hot and stuffy. We didn't spend our days in the cabin so we made it work for the 4 days we were there. The location was great - within 10 minutes of everything in Hocking Hills.

Nice little cabin

Cabin was nice but shows wear and tear of use. Driveway was tricky dealing with three vehicles and the drop off. Cabin was listed that it slept 10 but we had two people cancel and we were glad; the cabin was full with 8 people. Front deck and back deck wer absolutely wonderful for morning coffee and evening dinner. The hotub was a welcome treat at the end of the day after hard miles of hiking. Would stay here again.
