Super cute, furnished cottage on the point. 2 bedroom (1 queen bed, and 1 twin bed), 1 bath, kitchen, sunroom, covered back patio. Hardwood floors, and privacy fenced backyard. Note that if there is a lot of rain the yard will flood and get muddy. The entire town has a drainage issue. Dogs big and small welcome.

Come relax and enjoy a sunset walk around the point. Nestled on a quiet street two blocks from the Potomac River and two blocks from Monroe Bay. This is a great location for boating, kayaking, fishing, or just relaxing on the beach. This cottage is just 6 blocks to the free public boat ramp, public beach and park. Everything in the town is accessible by walking, bicycle or golf cart. The public library, boardwalk, town pier, antique shops, coffee shop, grocery, and boat charters are close by. Colonial Beach has many friendly shops and restaurants for the whole family to enjoy. The Town offers many events throughout the year such as the Annual Potomac River Festival Parade, Fireworks displays, Rock fish tournament, Art and Craft Show, Jet Ski Races and the annual Tri-athalon.

Colonial Beach bordered by the Potomac River and Monroe Bay. Is located about 65 miles from Washington DC, 75 miles from Richmond VA, and 35 Miles from Fredericksburg, VA. While here you can visit the birthplace place of President George Washington and boyhood home of General Robert E. Lee. Stop by the Westmoreland Berry Farm for some fresh fruit orenjoy some local wine from Igleside Winery.

Great little vacation spot!

Beyond cute

My family enjoyed our stay at the cottage! Everything was so tidy and ready for our use. We brought two large dogs, and it worked out so well with the fenced in backyard. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils. We were a half mile from the beach and a couple of blocks from a public pier.Even though we stayed for the Fourth of July weekend, it still wasnā€™t very crowded. After the holiday, it was even more quiet and there was a lot of privacy. If we ever decide to vacation again at Colonial Beach, I will definitely be contacting the owners of this property.

Cute Girls' Getaway

My friend and I brought our dogs (3 total) for a weekend getaway; this was huge as not everyone is okay with this many dogs and the property didn't charge us extra pet fees. This house was perfect for our needs. Not too far from Northern VA, it was a relatively easy drive for us. The house had everything we could need, and the fenced yard was perfect for the dogs. We were able to take many nice walks around the area, checked out the river and bay sides of the peninsula, and spent a great day at the beach. I'd imagine it gets crowded in the summer, but for a Saturday in early June, the beach wasn't packed at all! Missie, the property owner, was very helpful and incredibly responsive to any questions we reached out with. The house was ready early, so we were able to check in early, and since no one would be staying Sunday night, we were told we could stay til late afternoon instead of the 11am checkout. We had an excellent trip and will absolutely be booking another stay for next year!

Flooded

We love Colonial beach and have always enjoyed our weekend trips bring the dogs and let them have a backyard and walkable town. This was our first stay at this home. There had been a lot of rain that week. The owner did not communicate the yard was flooded front and rear. We arrived after dark and found ourselves unloading the vehicle in ankle deep water. No place for the dogs to use the bathroom we had to carry them out to the street to do their business. So glad we brought beach towels to dry them off. We realize the home is in a low lying area that tends to accumulate standing water but there are things the owner can do. Like had some fill in the front, reset the front walkway stones so you are not in mud and some fill dirt and sod in the back yard little things like this a go a long ways. The interior is as advertised. Small but adequate for a short stay. I would recommend having an electrician put an outlet next to the bedroom window AC it is dangerous at nite trying to maneuver over the electrical cord without tripping. The living room couch slips apart hard for two people to sit on maybe clip the underside. The floor cooling units take up a lot of space maybe consider window units. We rented the house for 3 nights but left the next morning just wasn't fun to humid in the home and the yard was a flooded mud pit. I sent the owner a message she issued a credit for 1/2 the stay. I am sure if it was dry we would have stayed.

Wife and I stayed here as a weekend getaway at the beach. It suited our needs perfectly and was perfect friendly with a large backyard for our dog. If we ever come back to Colonial Beach weā€™ll definitely look to stay there again!

The cottage is super cute. Highly recommend.

If your not into fancy but need amenities for a short or long term stay this is the perfect place. My parents like simple so they felt at home. The dogs loved the yard. Bring bug spray. Only recommendation: cooler sheets on the beds. Highly recommend ā¤ļø

Loved Mayberry Cottage

Mayberry Cottage was absolutely adorable. I highly recommend. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Fenced in back yard was great for my small dog. The owner was very quick to respond if I needed something. I will go back

Cottage in Colonial Beach

We spent a couple of days in Colonial Beach in his cute older cottage. It was centrally located in the peninsula and was in a good neighborhood for walking along the water. The fenced in back yard was also a plus for our dog. The cottage was well equipped and is a good place for 2-3 people.
