Every day starts with this spectacular ocean sunrise just a few steps from your bed. Our 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home sleeps 12-14 and sits literally right on the sandy beach of Plum Island.

Two bedrooms have a sundeck overlooking spectacular water views. A cool breezeway connects to the 4th bedroom, all situated right on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

Great trip

Great location. It was nice to stay in a house on the beach that wasn’t a modern mansion. The house was large but still had the old “Cape” feel to it.

The house is basically on the beach, location couldn’t be better. The house was obviously old and over due for renovation. I didn’t find out I needed to bring towels and bed linens until the welcome letter arrived, supposedly it was in the listing. I couldn’t find it. I wouldn’t have booked this property if I had known this as I had family coming from Sweden and Canada. Finding linens and towels for 14 people was a challenge. On the second day we had a mouse run across the kitchen. After that we saw mice every day, certainly more than one. On the last day my son saw a rat in the kitchen. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Hi Jeffrey, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am glad you loved the unbeatable beachfront location, but I am truly sorry for the frustrations you and your family experienced during your stay. Regarding the linens and towels, I apologize for any confusion caused. We always want this information to be crystal clear, and I appreciate you working through it with us—I'm glad we were able to communicate about options to help resolve that challenge before you arrived. As for the pests, we take that matter very seriously. While our coastal area can experience field mice and local voles (which can resemble larger rodents), we have brought in pest control to set repellant and traps to secure the property so future guests don't encounter this issue. We are actively working on updates and renovations to improve the home, and I appreciate your input as it helps us do better. We wish you and your family all the best.

Family Beach getaway

Amazing beach access with fun sandbar for kids to explore and swim. House is comfortable and has everything needed for a 3 generation family vacation and Plum Island was a pleasant surprise for our first time visit. Thanks Al for getting back to us quickly with questions.

Location location location

We live two towns away but it feels like we were miles from home. The house fit everyone comfortably and it had decent parking. It’s definitely an old property but everything was clean.

Right on the Beach

If you are looking for a place right on the beach with enough space for a large or extended family, this place is great. Open up the slider and you are on the sand, just one dune away from the water. Loved watching the Plovers hatch A nice quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking. Al is super at responding to questions and concerns.

Right on the beach!

Clean house and simple check in. Al was very communicative and ready to assist, although we didn't need much. If you want to be on the beach, this is the place. The house itself is also right on the main Plum Island road, which wasn't noisy but we had to keep a close eye on little ones trying to get out. House could use some updating, but it is all clean and in good order and it's a beach house so there you have it. Our grateful thanks to Al.

bi-coastal family gathering

The location and space are perfect for a large group (we had 10-12 folks from age 1-70) at different times during our week. The owner, Al, is amazingly helpful...he offered a link to riptide safety info and purchased a highchair as there was none for our tiniest guest. The listing is sparse and more details would help folks decide if they love the idea of being right on the sand dunes in an older house with stairs and steps everywhere (we had 2 foks with mobility limitations)- we made it work, but did not realize some would struggle with climbing the dune that protects the house from storms- and blocks the first-floor view- (lovely sunrises and moonrises) from the 2nd-floor balcony. We loved having a gas grill and utensils. Our young adults loved the beach. The picnic table on the screened breezeway was great for dinners. Those who brought bikes were happy to have a locking garage to keep them protected. The coffee fanatics liked the nearby cafe. The west coast folks were happy to have lobster rolls and thin-crust pizza nearby. Newburyport is a great place to explore. With the federal lands closed temporarily for protecting a bird, we loved the State Beach at the southern tip of Plum Island (go early to get one of the limited (20) parking spots.) This house was a terrific home base for all these wanderings. Check out nearby Ipswich, Cape Ann and Salem! And enjoy a host who will help out with any questions.

Great to Get Away

We had a fun week at the beach, first getaway since pandemic began. Everyone said they had a great time. All of our guests had received a complete covid-19 vaccination.

Family fun on the beach

This house is plenty big for all guests. The location is incredible. Walk 100 ft and you are on the beach. Great sandbar At low tide directly in front of the house for added fun!

Memorable Vacation

While my husband and I were unable to join our family on vacation this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the feedback from loved ones was all positive. Having the ocean as their back yard was amazing, and they especially enjoyed swimming out to the sand bar at low tide each day. The 5 grandkids ended up getting boogie boards so they could get towed. It was an especially hot week, and the rental only had one air conditioner. Al was contacted and he quickly came to the rescue with two more air conditioners. There was plenty of room for the 9 vacationers, and it was convenient having 2 kitchens/2 refrigerators. Guests might want to bring a Brita water filter or plenty of drinking water, as the tap water was not a hit. Grandkids collected lots of neat shells and did not want to leave. They are hoping for another Plum Island vacation next year!

Hidden gem on Plum Island!

I can’t say enough good things about renting the property. We arrived on Saturday afternoon, and immediately went out into the back sandy yard through the breezeway. From there, we checked out the house and the attached apartment, and noticed it was very clean, and well stocked with personal care items such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, and a fresh sponge in each kitchen. There was plenty of parking, a spacious garage, and there were even sand toys and beach chairs available for use, which really made me happy to see as a mom of 4 young kids. This house was perfect for my family and the weather was absolutely incredible all week. Al made us feel welcome and at home, and I am so thankful for the time we got to spend here together! Highly recommend renting this home especially if you have young children and are looking for easy beach access!

Spectacular vacation rental

What a wonderful vacation spot for anyone who wants to be right on the beach. From the minute I walked in the house it had such a wonderful feeling to it. The owner “Al” was so amazing to work with! The house was beautifully clean and everything ran like clockwork. The beachy backyard was such a bonus compared to all the other homes on the street that just had doing grass. Al was incredibly accommodating in every way. I’m so excited to be booked and ready for next year again. I can’t say thank you enough for accommodating and making my vacation so wonderful.

Perfect vacation spot

We had my family from the midwest join us for a week at the beach and we loved it! We had 10 adults and plenty of space and privacy. The pictures don't do it justice, there's so much to offer here. Stocked with cookware, dishes and even beach chairs. Waking to the sunrise every morning was fabulous! Location was great, right down the street you can find restaurants and even a fishing charter!!! The beach wasn't crowded which was a plus too! My family kept thanking me for setting up this rental and I'm thankful Al shares his fabulous beach house!!

A Gem

This beach house was everything I was looking for. The pictures on the website are nice but they do not do it justice. Every room looked like it was freshly painted in beautiful bright colors, the bathrooms were updated and one was huge, the furniture was clean and comfortable, the beach was very private in front of the house, the backyard was fantastic for the windy days because it is protected by the sand dunes, , , plenty of parking, the house was stocked with beach chairs, toys for kids, clean blankets and comforters, nice pots and pans with plenty of utensils and dinnerware, and the beds were very comfortable (4 queen and 6 twin). The owner was very quick to respond to any questions and also offered to go there to personally show me things I was looking for, the list could just go on and on but I will stop here. Oh also, having the adjoining apt. with the screened in porch connecting the two was a perfect set up for our adult children vacationing with us as it gave us all a little extra room and privacy. The location was also perfect, as it is almost across the street from Mad Martha's Cafe (amazing breakfasts and lunches) and walking distance to the center which has everything from convenience stores, 2 restaurants and bars, ice cream shop, surf shop, package store and bait shop . The ONLY drawback is there is not a view of the ocean from the first floor but the deck off of the two Master Bedrooms is a great place to view the ocean and see amazing sunrises in the morning.I should be keeping this place a secret but the owners deserve a great review. Best vacation experience all around!

Location, location, location!

Great location! House was spacious! One bedroom apartment was included. Outside shower was great for an after beach rinse! Al was great to deal with and responded quickly to our questions! A memorable stay was had by all!

Great place to stay on Plum Island!

I ended up getting the opportunity to spend some time with all four of my children so ended renting the place on a very short term notice The owner responded very quickly and the procedure for renting was effortless I have stayed on Plum Island a number of times so was hoping for a place that was close to the water along with being conveniently located to the spots we like to fish and this place was ideal for both The house was great , more than adequate parking and the beach is literally right out back Couldn't have asked for anything better! Will hopefully return to this location when the Stripers come back next year:) Highly recommended !
