I’m getting emotional thinking about our stay at Suzy’s slice of heaven on earth. We needed a home away from home in the wake of hurricane Lala. Suzy’s serene cottage was truly an answer to prayer. I’ve stayed at MANY staycation rentals on our Hawai’i Island, and this one will stand out in my memory forever. Look no further if you want the perfect place and space to revive and rejuvenate. We were so blessed by Suzy’s extraordinary care and world class service!

Great starting point for adventures in the Hilo/Volcano area. Cottage had everything we needed. Cooled down at night just enough to make sleeping comfortable. Suzy was quick to re add pond to any questions we had. Lots of birds and frogs!!

Suzy was very responsive, the house was well appointed, there was very little traffic noise. The frogs and rooster serenaded us each morning. It felt very safe there.

The whole experience was awesome. Suzy was so easy to deal with and the house was adorable. Everything was as stated. The geckos love scrambled eggs. We can't wait to come back.

Serenity in Paradise

The cottage was clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We loved to drink our coffee on the lanai in the morning and watch the birds at the feeder. What a wonderfully relaxing place to stay on Hawaii Island.

Thx for staying and your 5 star review, I believe my house is fully stocked with sufficient amount of dishes, But I you letting me know. All others who have stayed have said my kitchen is fully stocked, so not sure what you mean? But thank you anyway anyways. I'm glad you had a great trip. Safe travels home.

Family

I rented this place for my nephew and his family so they could come and visit grandma. They truly enjoyed their stay and I will definitely rent this house again for future family members visits!

Absolutely Perfect

Our only regret is that we were too busy to fully enjoy the peace and tranquility this property has to offer. Definitely looking forward to staying here again in the near future.

Perfect tropical experience

Thank you so much for opening your wonderful home. Our trip was exactly what we had hoped. Great family time tons of exploring and the perfect hoe base. With family on the island we will definately be back and certainly stay here. Also got to see some whales.

TRUE HAWAII

The home is in perfect location to Hilo and Volcano...very secluded and private. The home was incredibly clean, comfortable to come home to after a long day of sightseeing. Ashley was a great host and was good to communicate with.

I booked this property less than 24 hours before my arrival. The hist was very responsive and accommodating. The house is just as pictured. We got plenty of use out of the hammock out back. It was so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed. The air conditioner in the master was nice, although with a nice breeze, it wasn't needed all night. Would definitely stay again.

Fine property for the price point.

Private location, convenient for travel to Mt. View and Keaau. Clean home with a well stocked kitchen. Lawn maintenance was ill-timed, they came to the house at 430-7pm. Home was very hot as there is no shade on the house.

Thx for your review katelyn, I'm happy you still really liked my home. I have since added an air conditioning unit, as well as more windows higher in the walls to add cooler temperatures for my house. So my house is very comfortable now, and guests love it. As far as my yard crew goes, they do have their own schedule for when they show up. However, they only stay an hour and make the yard very nice for you to enjoy. Thx again for staying.

Cozy Comfort

Simple and clean, comfortable place to reset after long days out. We appreciated the peace and calm since this home is away from the chaos of town. We enjoyed watching the birds in the backyard and geckos on back porch. There’s a symphony of frogs in the evenings to lull you to sleep. Suzy was immediately responsive when messaged. We stayed for 4 nights and had no issues.

Sunset Susie's was such a beautiful home and property, it made our stay so much fun, the yard was perfect for the kiddos to play, for the wifey and I to frolic, I would jog around the yard every morning, having a fire in the yard was so nice. The fruit trees, the area, the perfect location to go in all directions and see every single thing that was awesome that we could see, there's too much to see in this area, lol. Her house was so nice that we almost just wanted to hang out there and enjoy our stay in Hawaii, but we still got out every single day to explore. And this house is in the perfect location for serious exploration. Thank you Susie!!!!

Guava lava!

The home is very private. The home is surrounded by thick rainforest that capsulate the entire property. Theres many guava trees surrounding the home and all over the neighborhood. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and comes with a blender and straining tools. I used strawberry guava from the yard to make guava lava(guava juice) The lizards on the back porch LOVE bananas and will actually swarm the whole porch for anything they find tasty. The owner put a valentine bouquet with tropical flowers/leaves on the porch and the lizards were camping in the pot and eating the big tropical leaves. Theres a bird feeder in the backyard that attracts probably 100 birds at a time. They swarm it like crazy, its great to watch. The inside of the home was very clean, spacious, and the AC in the master room is a big plus. If youre looking for creature comforts in a tropical paradise with fruit and wildlife right outside the door, stay at this place.

L'hébergement était exactement tel que décrit, l'hôtesse était très attentive et disponible pour toute question. Tout était à disposition : cuisine bien équipée, serviettes, et le divan lit avait été préparé vu que nous étions 5 à occuper la maison. L'air climatisé portable fourni était très utile car Keeau est du côté tropical de l'île et très humide. Le volcan est a 40 minutes de route et facile d'accès. Il faut être prêt a entendre les bruits de la nature, la faune nocturne est très audible la nuit sauf si on ferme toutes les fenêtres et qu'on laisse l'air climatisé de la chambre principale refroidir l'endroit. C'est aussi la noirceur totale la nuit. Le ciel était couvert lors de notre visite, mais si le ciel est dégagé, on doit voir un superbe ciel étoilé vu la noirceur ambiante.

Cute property and home. We enjoyed watching a variety of colorful birds from the back deck. The sound of frogs was peaceful in the evening. The yard is full of tropical flowers and plants which made us feel like we were in paradise. When we return, this will be the first place we look to lay our heads. Suzy has a gem of a place and is an amazing person to work with.

Loved it! Super easy to communicate and check in. Adorable house on a beautiful piece of land close to Volcano National Park but far enough away to avoid falling tephra (small, volcanic rocks). We enjoyed watching the birds from the back lanai (porch) and slept very well to the serenade of the Coqui Frogs who could also be seen on the windows at night. Mahalo and Aloha!

Amazing place to stay

We stayed at Suzys house and really loved it.. Suzys house is on a one acre lot.. that is really secluded and private. We enjoyed the green geckos that we fed bannanas.. and the tropical birds that came to visit each day. The place is really green and grassy.. and surrounded by ferns and orchids. The house was perfect for our family. We came to see the volcano and it was in a perfect location for our big island vacation. I would recommend it to anyone.
