The home was on top of a mountain in a gated community and was therefore very private and the property was gorgeous inside and out! Communicating with our host prompt in response and easy. Food for thought: brighter lighting would be nice throughout and replace the knives in the kitchen as they are dull. We had a professional chef among our group who utilized the kitchen for most meals we ate and the kitchen had most things needed. Everything inside and out was very clean. Each person had their own bedroom with wonderful accommodations. The view on a clear day was absolutely stunning!We will certainly return for another trip! Everything was as described and more! Thank you for your contribution to a very memorable trip with friends!

It was a beautiful view and the house was awesome and enough room for the kids to be done stairs. They played pool every night. The negatives would be sofa bed couch in livingroom was broken and was very uncomfortable to sit on. Which limited seating. The furniture on top deck was very used and uncomfortable. We didn't realize how steep the drive up was which scared my sister but kids thought was fun. Lol overall this was a great place and we had a great time!!

Beautiful views. Well appointed. Plenty of space for our large family. The weather of wonderful the week we stayed. The only issue was the downstairs was harder to regulate the temperature and was much colder than the upstairs. Thank you for the great stay!!

Amazing views

We absolutely loved staying at the property. It was clean and well kept. One of our favorites things was there was plenty of chairs on the decks where you could sit and relax while taking in the views. The owners were responsive and wonderful and it was a true retreat.

Great family vacation

The house was beautiful and the owners were very accommodating and responsive to any questions we had. The view breathtaking. Had several visits and sightings of the bears on and near the house and one morning woke up to the mama bear watching her cubs play. Absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend this house.

Smoky Mountain Golden Cabins

Our family of eight had plenty of room and privacy. The cabin was beautiful and clean. The location was perfect with incredible views from the deck. The Tisch’s were wonderful hosts with constant and quick communications. We will certainly stay there again.

The house listed “pool” as an amenity but the pool was actually a 7 minute drive away. We had ten kids with us and expected a pool close by. No where on the listing does it share how insanely scary the road up to the house is and for us to pack our kids in the car and drive down that mountain road to get to a pool seven minutes away wasn’t feasible. The house has two levels and the thermostat only on the top level. Those in the lower level were freezing while those on the top level were warm. Otherwise the house was fine, clean enough, and stocked with towels and blankets.

Beautiful rest

This property had beautiful views and gave us privacy. The house was very spacious, offered plenty of activity for the whole family, and was well stocked with kitchen needs. A GREAT property!!!We loved it.

Great spot for a Family Vacation!

The Cabin was great for our group of 12! It’s nice and secluded at the top of the neighborhood (last cabin on the street). Incredible views of the Smokey’s from the back deck, we spent many evenings there! We saw a handful of bears in the neighborhood, a mama and her cubs graced us with their presence mid stay. Plenty of parking for our 5 vehicles plus space for many more. The hill made for a great walk in the evenings. Very quiet neighborhood. Rooms were spacious (would recommend updating of shower heads). We used the kitchen for cooking many meals, plenty of space for all to spread out. The game room with the pool table was a hit. Hosts were VERY responsive! The guests prior had thrown out the pot holders and they dropped new ones at the door while we were out hiking! Nice fire pit with plenty of space too! Easily within driving distance of the National Park!

Bunch of old guys getting together to play games and complain about the world

We are a bunch of agitated old men. We don't like politics, people, technology, or our jobs. Frankly, we don't like each other very much either.The only thing we seem to like is coming to this cabin once a year to drink beer, play games, and commiserate about growing older. The view is beautiful, everyone gets their own room, we can hike the park nearby, and we can spill cold water from the deck above onto Daniel's head when he's in the hot tub.

Amazing!

What a deal, the cabin was excellent and the views were spectacular. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had everything we needed and more. The price was very reasonable for what you get. The only downside was we had to leave a day early. Not the property or managers fault. A bad snowstorm was starting and the manager recommended we leave early because we could be stuck there for awhile. It was good advice.

Worth the stay!

This was our 8th yearly family gathering in Gatlinburg (age range from1 year old to 80 years old). We have always used the same property but for this visit that property was not available. So when rented this property, WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! Property provides space for large gatherings as well a space for individuals looking for some alone time. Plenty of parking. Several great restaurants within minutes of lodge as well as shopping opportunities. Easy drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The drive to Gatlinburg through the National Park was easy and beautiful. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and serving. Plenty of space for large groups to sit and enjoy a meal together. Communication with property owners was easy. Property provides everything you could expect when accommodating a large group! You wont be disappointed.

Family Christmas Trady

Great deck for enjoying morning coffee and views of beautiful mountains. Great playroom for our grandchildren. The beds were comfortable and arranged well with baths for every family. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a fantastic stay.

Donn and Margaret Tisch are the owners/managers of Smoky Mountain Golden Cabins - where you rent from the owners! Smoky Mountain Golden Cabins specializes in secluded and private setting cabins in Wears Valley, Tn. Donn grew up on the farm and has tried his hand at several professions including working as a chef, managing a dry cleaning plant and an over the road trucker before finding his way into the vacation rental business. Margaret is originally from Ireland (part of why she so loves Wears Valley, it reminds her of home!) and she has called the United States her home since moving here in the 1980's. Margaret has owned a cleaning company in Florida, is widely known as the best mother in the whole world and has spent the last several years working in retail at one of the major box stores. Donn and Margaret have two grown son's. Our eldest son, Jerry is married to his wife Nikki and they have one son named Artie and daughter due in summer of 2019. Jerry and Nikki also own cabins they rent in Wears Valley. Our youngest son, Bobby, is soon to be moving to the area and joining us in management and maintenance of our cabins! It is our faith that directs who we are and what we believe. When it comes to our guests experience in one of our vacation properties, we hope to provide a setting of rest and peaceful relaxation. We believe that in this busy world all too often the first thing lost are those special times with family and friends. We hope guests will at some point during their stay, make a special memory that they will carry for their life time. Time is short and we are but only here for a little while - So take some time to come to the mountains, breath in that fresh mountain air and take in all the grandeur and beauty! Spend sometime on the porch in a rocker or relaxing in the hot tub and let the cares of the world pass by! At Smoky Mountain Golden Cabins we are in the business of making memories that last a life time!
