The house has just been renovated with stunning wood windows and large deck and terrace. Imagine your vacation on the most beautiful, stunning Lagoon and Bays in the Mexican Caribbean, sipping a Margarita in the pool and enjoying the Caribbean life.
Quinta Del Mar is located in Akumal, famous for its adventurous snorkeling on the Yalku Lagoon and unique experience of swimming and snorkeling with Sea Turtles in Akumal Bay. Quinta del Mar sits right on the Yalku Lagoon perfect peaceful oasis for first time snorkels to discover the underwater world; the house has its own entrance to the lagoon and ocean .
Quinta Del Mar has the most wonderful views from every room in the house. The pool and terrace are a Caribbean Oasis for the whole family. The Villa is a Perfect Oceanside Escape with a spacious open floor plan including living room, dining room and kitchen whether if you're cooking, sipping a coffee or reading a book you will always enjoy AMAZING views. There is a powder room downstairs and an ocean view bedrooms with en suite. Upstairs there are 3 spacious ocean view bedrooms all with bathrooms. Make this quite, spacious 4,000 sq. feet Mexican style home your vacation destination.
Sunbath or read a book in the lounge chairs at the Ocean front terrace, enjoy your meals at the outside sitting area, take a siesta in the Hammock, BBQ the catch of the day in the Charcoal Grill, or cool down in the pool with your favorite drink.
New Guest House with additonal Bedroom 1 king size bed, ensuite, sofa bed (2 children), fully equipped kitchenette, terrace and roof top.
Santiago and Mirley onsite caretaker and housekeeper will pamper you during your stay. They can cook delicious Yucatan Style Meals. In addition Quinta Del Mar offers upon arrival a basket of fruit awaits you.
Within walking distance enjoy both Half Moon Bay and Akumal Bay, great for snorkeling and for experiencing swimming with the Turtles. Akumal is the Jewel of the Riviera Maya. The waves break on the coral wall 100 yards before the beach leaving Akumal Bay very calm and peaceful for the whole family to enjoy the snorkeling.

Wonderful, wonderful views from all rooms, pool and patio!Our family was able to fully relax away from it all, with scores of multicolored tropical fish just steps in the water. Would come again!

We would stay at this property again. Love the small town of Akumal. This house made forna great home base to visit the surrounding areas. The house was very clean and Monica was very easy to deal with.

Fantastic house! Santiago and Mirley were the most generous and friendly house staff and Mirleyā€™s cooking is amazing! Highly recommend this house, and the price was very good when compared to other properties in the area.

Excellent place to spend a family reunion

All of the exciting and fun things that there are to do in this spot were great for our family reunion including kids and adults from 9 to 70. The pool was an amazing place to hang out. The housekeepers worked so hard to make sure we had a great time, keeping our house very clean and even cooking us a delicious meal. The location on the lagoon is perfect for snorkeling and kayaking. Would highly recommend!

Neno & Mercedes were GREAT!! The house needs a little TLC. One of the rooms air conditioner broke and they had it replaced in a day. The floats near the pool need to be replaced. The leather chairs in the living room, need to be re-upholstered. We found getting into the lagoon was way too hard for 5 women in the 70's... but that isn't a reflection on the house. The rooms and pool were wonderful! The view is spectacular... really loved the location and the house. I would stay there again in a minute... car in necessary. La Taverna Italian restaurant was great!!

Beautiful house with beautiful view

Seven of us traveled to Akumal and stayed in this beautiful beachfront home. It was the perfect house for a big group with plenty of lounging space, pool and access to the lagoon for amazing snorkeling. Mirley and Santiago were wonderful caretakers and made us two magnificent meals. We would highly recommend this location and wonderful house for a relaxing vacation.

Nothing to criticise. All three generations loved it. The big surprise was the surfing out front with out anyone else. Three members are all excellent surfers unaware this Quinta had it available. Divng , snorkelling, and surfing were thoroughly enjoyed. Dinners were delicious. Everyone wants to return.

Lovely villa, perfect location

There were seven of us coming from three different places. We arrived in good time and everything was perfect in the house. We met Mercedes and memo on the first day, and then Monica on the second. Everyone was terrific Mercedes in memo, who initially werenā€™t going to have the ability to cook a couple meals, then were able to, and made us to exquisite perfectly prepared and bountiful meals, which we all really enjoyed. The house is lovely and in terrific condition. Loved it all.

We could not say enough about this property if we had all day. The trip was for my partners 50th birthday and we invited 9 friends to join. Every single person had a lovely experience. Memo and Mercedes are so so lovely. They are there when you need them and not if you don't. Mercedes cooking was top notch. I highly recommend. We had chilichiles and cochinita pibil. Both were 5 star quality along with the flan. The location was great, we did pay to enter the lagoon due to safety, however straight out and to the left you can enter the ocean by steps and the reef is wonderful and everyone felt safe. We rented golf carts and found that to be fun and easy. We did one day at Akumal beach and this visit they cracked down on snorkeling without a guide. You don't need one to see turtles, but it seems now it is required. I've not had that experience in past visits.My partner and I stayed in the guest house and it was awesome. Enjoyed the hammock and rooftop stargazing. Beds are comfortable. Pretty much a dream vacation. There are lots of great shops, food and activities to keep everyone busy for our 5 days. It is unanimous that this should be an annual trip to Akumal and this is the place to stay. Hope to see Memo and Mercedes again some day. Thank you

Amazing!!!!!!!

This was our first time with our 6 children to Mexico !!! This place gives a very authentic feel and is very safe. The national guard has a location within 500 yards of the houseā€¦ Santiago and Mirley were amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable!!! It was very low key and relaxing ā€¦. We walked to all the different restaurants and even walked at night. Felt safe ā€¦. Snorkeling in the bay was amazing and not to mention the beautiful sunrises !!! Will def be back!!!!

Our stay was awesome exactly what we wanted relaxing and just lovely. Monica was very helpful and accommodating our transfers and answering all questions. Merly and Santiago were the best very attentive. The house was beautiful every room has a view. All rooms have AC, but kitchen and living room do not it would be nice if they did just a suggestion. But we opened all windows and doors downstairs and the ocean breeze is amazing. Love the house perfectly situated on Ya Kul Lagoon and beautiful ocean to dip in. Will be back thank you !

Beautiful location, great house, amazing snorkelling

Despite the huge amount of building around Tullum over the last 20 years, Akumal has stayed a lovely location. Quinta del Mar is a great property, with lovely staff who tidy up each day and help in any way they can. The property has good sized rooms, simple but attractive decor and a good arrange of amenities which suited us - 2 families with a teenager and two other grown up children. There is amazing snorkelling directly off the property to keep everyone entertained, along with mask, snorkels and kayaks to borrow. There is also a great small pool to cool off in. Akumal itself has a couple of nice bars and a few shops (expensive for groceries but good if you can't get to the supermarket that day). The management company was very helpful, providing good information and making the effort to visit and providing contact details to answer any further questions. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house and location.

Beautiful, relaxing Akumal

My family and I (4 adults, 2 kids ages 3 and 5) had an amazing stay at this home. Monica was kind and welcoming and Mirley and Santigo were gracious and attentive throughout our stay. We found the location to be stunning with great snorkeling and kayaking accessible immediately in front of the house. A beautiful pool with nice shallow areas for the kiddos to play. Plenty of space in the house. I would caution families with small kiddos that the shore of the lagoon is rocky (sharp!) so just something to be mindful of, but was not a barrier to our kiddos having lots of fun exploring (particularly checking out the iguanas). There were helpful tips provided for local activities, restaurants, etc. though some are outdated (recommend updating those documents), games provided, etc. All in all, we loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone (we might even come back!).

We stayed here with a group of 7 for a week. The house was great, fully stocked with everything we needed. Every bedroom has a great view of the ocean and AC (although you get such a great breeze we never turned it on). There are a bunch of bikes, and snorkel equipment to use, as well as kayaks. The direct access to Yal-Ku Lagoon was awesome. We brought inflatable paddle boards from home and used them in the lagoon every day. There is also a surf break you can paddle to from the house. We saw a few people out ripping everyday. On calm days you can enter the water right out front. On windy days you can walk a few houses down and enter the lagoon easily. For sure don't pay any money to go into Yal-Ku Lagoon. Definitely rent a golf cart or two. It makes it super easy to go into town to Playa Akumal and all the local restaurants. Memo and Mercedes were great. They cooked us an amazing dinner! For sure have them cook at least one meal. Super safe vibe in the neighborhood put everyone in our group at ease. Gated entrance to get into N. Akumal and there is a police substation near the house.

We had 7 fantastic days at this beautiful property after Christmas and over the New years. The property far exceeded our expectations and was much bigger in person than we expected based off of the pictures. Monica was extremely reliable and responsive to all of our needs. Mirley and Santiago were the sweetest! The guac, salsa and habanero salsa that Mirley made was off the charts good! It is on a beautiful part of the lagoon were we could jump in and snorkle, although it was very windy several days and we could not snorkle. Didn't matter! We still enjoyed the pool and the view! We were able to star gaze at night and saw the big and little dipper and a shooting star! The community was charming and there are numerous delicious restaurants- La Lunita, Taverna, Turtle Bay Cafe, AK's, Lol-Ha, La Buena Vida, etc. We rented a golf cart but if we weren't lazy, you would not have to have one, but it was nice to zip up to the beach or grab something from the corner store without walking a mile. All in all, we had a lovely time at Quinta Del Mar and are already discussing a return! Thank you Monica, Mirley, Santiago for a fabulous experience and to the owners for opening your darling home for us!

AMAZING

Let me start by saying the pictures of this property, although beautiful, don't begin to capture how truly beautiful it is in person!! All you see when you first walk in is the gorgeous pool and the ocean!! The way the property is situated you feel complete privacy. The housekeepers Santiago and Mirley were amazing as well. I almost felt a little guilty being so pampered. You must take advantage of the 3 meals included in the rental. After a long day of exploring, coming home to an out of the world meal is heaven! So... On to the location. We absolutely loved Akumal. It provided the perfect balance of restaurants and activities where you felt like you could do everything or nothing. If you want to go to Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, or Cancun, it is a very easy direct drive you can get to in around 20-30 minutes. When we did do day trips, we all agreed that we loved coming back to Quinta Del Mar and relaxing with some drinks by the pool. We went with another family and all 8 of us agree that this trip is by far one of the best!! Considering we are all seasoned travelers, this is the ultimate compliment to the location, property, and staff. We will be back!!

Could not have asked for better

Our stay at Quinta Del Mar was amazing! We were five adults and the house was spacious, comfortable, every bedroom had a beautiful view and its own bathroom. We could all choose to hang out together or there was plenty of space for us to have alone time. We did spend most of our time out in the backā€”in the pool or just sitting in the lounge chairs and enjoying this gorgeous view and soaking up the sun. Mirley and Santiago were fantastic! The house was cleaned every day and we chose to have Mirley cook for us on quite a few occasions and we couldnā€™t have done better in any restaurant. She was a phenomenal cook and we very much enjoyed being able to have our meals there and then they cleaned up everything and so we could continue relaxing. Location of the house was wonderful because we could walk down the path outside the back of the house and go directly into the water and snorkel there. There were periods of time when the sargassum was in front of that area but it was not constant, it came and went. The lagoon was right around the corner from where we could get into the water but in order to actually snorkel in the Yalku lagoon you had to pay to go into the lagoon. It was literally directly across the cul de sac from our house. Really great location, we felt safe and relaxed. It was truly a perfect vacation!!

Lovely place, clean, safe, and slow paced environment

Water is on a corral reef / lagoon good environment for kayaking, SUP, and snorkeling (no sand). Great sunrises and good sea breezes (May). House has enough space for three families. Staff was friendly, clean, good with kids, and cooking was on point and so convenient. 10-20 minute walk to restaurants, beach clubs, and shopping. Taxis are available and use the house managers to book shuttles and adventures super convenient.

Quintessential Quinta Del Mar

My family of nine visited Akumal For a week this November, 2021. Our adult children, spouses and 9 year old granddaughter flew in from all over the US to join my husband and I. We rented a van for airport shuttling and sightseeing, and the kids also rented a golf cart for a few days if tooling around. The beauty of Quinta Del Mar is unbelievable! The incredible sea views from every room and ocean/lagoon access kept us all enchanted and enter. So much so we never left the community of Akumal except for grocery shopping! We snorkeled and swam in the lagoon daily; the fan coral is stunning and the tropical fish bountiful, indicative of a healthy geosystem. We biked or walked to the local restaurants when we werenā€™t cooking or having Mirley and Santiago cook for us. Every restaurant had excellent seafood and of course, cocktails!! Mirley and Santiago are so simpatico and they took such good care of us! They prepared their traditional YucatĆ”n dishes as well as our breakfast favorite, chileqilles. The food was tastyā€¦excellent!!! They shared in our family celebrations and never were intrusive. We will miss them. The layout of the house is also great! Comfortable beds and good water pressure for a coastal community. The WiFi handled everyoneā€™s needs, including music and of course, late night video gaming. The pool is perfect! Just the right size for lounging or playing around in as our granddaughter did daily. The home felt secure and safe, especially when tropical storms came in, which are great to watch under the covered front deck. Our communication with Monica was always speedy and any issues resolved. The only thing that we all felt might be an improvement on would be the condition/age of the bicycles. Otherwise all things considered this is most definitely a dream come true and a special place that we will return to soon with family and friends.
