Whether you’re here for fishing, hiking, sightseeing, family gatherings, or business travel, we welcome you to Spruce Brook Retreat, your comfortable home base for exploring Alaska.

Backing directly onto a beautiful forested greenbelt, the house offers a peaceful Alaska setting while keeping grocery stores, restaurants, the airport, and everyday convenience just minutes away. Nestled against a lush forest, you’ll experience a little of Alaska right from your backyard where guests frequently spot moose, porcupines, rabbits, coyotes, and occasionally black and brown bears.

After a day of exploring Alaska, settle in for a restful night’s sleep is one of the best parts of vacation. All rooms come with light-diffusing/blackout shades window treatments.

The property is a wonderful, well maintained home and we even got to see some wildlife.We had a problem when we first arrived but the owner was quick to take care of it.All questions we had were answered.We could not have had a better vacation anywhere else.We look forward to our next visit.

Perfect living space for our quick vacation. Location was great and close to everything we needed. Very clean and cozy. Logan, the host, was very responsive. Highly recommend!

This house is beautiful and in a perfect location for exploring Anchorage and the surrounding areas. The neighborhood is quiet. We even saw a moose in the park down the street. Plenty of space for our family to feel comfortable. We enjoyed the deck with a view of birch trees.

Great stay in Anchorage! The house was central from the airport, Girdwood and all the places we wanted to see while in town for a few days before a cruise. The place was clean and spacious. The host was easy to communicate with and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Would stay again.

Really nice, clean property. Positives were cleanliness, deck and backyard, laundry machines, ease of entry/exit, and number of spaces with TVs and full bathrooms. The kitchen didn’t have a ton of cookware, but it worked for cooking our meals. The coffee machine is a K Cup (supplied with plenty of K Cups), so no need to bring ground coffee/ filters.

Katie thank you for the positive review. It is so valuable to us as hosts as this is our family business. Please let us know if we can improve this for future guests. All feedback is great. I have a list of improvements for the off season. The winters here give such a beating to our house. I will get more kitchen supplies. The balance is enough to be useful, but not to much to make cleaning between guests an issue. You would be amazed how much walks off. I hope to just keep improving the property! We love our home and want everyone who comes to feel it. You need to come back and spend more time here! Thank you.

- This property was perfect. Having 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was really ideal for our group. The property was impeccably kept and we especially liked having a large driveway to park in and the lovely back deck facing a little forest. It was close enough to the city to be a few minutes from many many amenities but just on the edge of town to enjoy a country feel. We saw a moose on the side of the road not far from the house. - The house itself was very nicely decorated and was very clean. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked with everything we could possibly have wanted or needed including ice in the freezer, coffee pods, and sauces and spices. - Pillows were very comfortable and towels were large, plentiful and soft. - The laundry room was perfect with great newer washer and dryer. - The main floor is only accessible up a set of stairs from the driveway and then another set of stairs inside the house; this should be noted in case anyone in your rental party has mobility issues, but it wasn't a problem for us. The lower floor also had an entrance that opened into the backyard, which could be used if anyone needed to avoid stairs. - Really want to mention that the host, Logan, was extremely helpful in suggesting sights to see and places to go. One of our best days was exploring an area he suggested for us. Messages before and during the trip were answered extremely promptly. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone staying in the area!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home! The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe, which made it easy to relax. One of the highlights was the beautiful back patio—perfect for morning coffee while listening to the birds chirping. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, with clear instructions provided ahead of time. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook a few meals during our stay. Overall, a peaceful and comfortable retreat—we’d definitely come back!

From out of state, in Anchorage for a family event. This was a great rental. Bit of a snafoo with the automated check-in but we got it figured out and settled quickly. Host is attentive and very helpful. The house was clean and very well kept. Got it on good authority from a local family member, that it's one of the nicer, well built homes in the area. 😉 Located in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood. Backing up to a green belt with some resident moose! The house is within walking to a school playground, groceries and coffee! Beds were large and comfortable with additional linens and pillows for all. Plenty of towels for our group of 6. Decor was sparce. There were a few things we noticed, the temps reached 80 degrees during our stay and we had to hunt for the thermostat as it was sweltering and opening the windows let in the midnight sun. Sleep the first night was limited. The primary bathroom is spa like with a huge tub, but there wasn't enough hot water to fill the bath tub to a reasonable soaking depth. Shower was perfect and had good pressure. Had to search around to find additional trash bin liners would recommend a few of those in each bathroom. The garage which was inaccessible to guests had eerie blue/white lights on inside during our entire stay, not a big deal but slightly odd and everyone wanted to know what was hidden in there. Overall a great stay! One of the better rentals we've had. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone staying in Anchorage.

The property is nice, clean and functioned really well for our stay. The location was also great, close enough to shopping but not busy. We were really thankful to be allowed to check in early because of our flight schedule. On our second night my husband and I hopped into bed and pulled up the covers and the bedframe gave out. I reached out to the property manager immediately at the number provided when we checked in to let him know the situation and never got a response back. My husband and I took the mattress and box springs off and fixed the frame ourselves so that we could sleep in the bed. The supports are not secured, you can see the spots where there are supposed to be screws to make the frame solid and there are only a couple through the whole framing so we did the best we could to re-secure it and spent the rest of the trip trying to move on the bed as little as possible. The frame definitely needs to be redone so that it’s doesn’t give out again on someone else. There were no bath mats in any of the bathrooms so we used the hand towels and on the last day while starting a load of laundry found all of the bath mats and someone’s personal clothes damp in the dryer. I had reached out the night before checkout to see if we could do a late check out because our flight isn’t until late afternoon and never received a response. A car sat outside at 9:40am until we left so we felt rushed and uncomfortable. Great property but management left a lot to be desired.

We couldn't have asked for a better host than Logan. Communication was excellent from start to finish — responsive, clear, and genuinely welcoming, and check-in was seamless and stress-free. The house itself was lovely, with a wooded backyard that gave the whole place a private, tucked-away feel. It comfortably fit our family of six without anyone feeling on top of each other, which isn't always easy to find. The home was spotless and clearly well cared for, with comfortable beds and plenty of space to spread out and relax. The kitchen was well-stocked, which made cooking for a big group easy, and the location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. It made our trip feel like home — we'd happily stay again and highly recommend it.

We had an incredible stay at this property and couldn't have asked for a better home base for our Alaska trip.The location was absolutely perfect. You feel close to nature thanks to the beautiful woods behind the house, but we were still close to the main roads, making it very easy to get on the road and explore.The house itself is very spacious, making it perfect for our extended family. There were multiple spaces to gather between the 2 floors & the deck, which was the perfect spot to unwind at night in the midnight sun.Logan, the host, was fantastic. He was incredibly helpful from start to finish, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and was awesome with communication. We really appreciated his hospitality. It makes such a difference to have a home with a local owner that cares and takes pride in the home & hosting your family. If you are planning a trip to the Anchorage area with a family or group, I totally recommend staying here. We hope to be back again!

The house was clean lots of space. It was just as described.The only negative is no AC, our last day the house did heat up. In Alaska I didn't think AC was needed but the house did get warm. Opening the windows did cool it down over the evening hours. It was overall a pleasant stay

So glad you guys enjoyed your stay here. We get very few warm days, you guys were lucky enough to experience one of the warm days. When we're lucky enough to get sun all day long. It does heat up, but as you said opening up the windows usually cools it right off. Otherwise, it's like a greenhouse, which is nice for the cooler days!
