Comfortable cabin on Mt Hood, in Welches, right on the Salmon River and directly across the street from golf at The Mt. Hood Resort. One level, no stairs. Two bedrooms, two full baths and a patio and deck to relax on and take it easy. Main bedroom has a Queen. Guest bedroom has a Queen plus a set of bunks. Sleeps 6, plus two large couches in the living room.
Linens included, as well as towels and firewood for the warm and cozy wood stove. New Washer & Dryer, Microwave, Cable and wireless internet included.

Charming retreat right next to the river. It was lovely to listen to the river as I drank my coffee. I imagine in the summer it’s even better. We cooked a Thanksgiving meal and the home was stocked with everything we could possibly need to cook with. The home is well kept and clean. The communication with owner was quick and clear.

all in all we would stay here again. The house was very well equipped except there was no hand soap for the shower and the room with the shower had a very small bathroom. Everyone remarked on how long the hot water took to arrive to the showers. The local would be hard to beat for adults but not much room to roam for kids. If you want to kick back and watch the river go by and watch the salmon this is an ideal location. The neighbors were great too.

The property was easy to get to and well equipped. We enjoyed how quaint and cozy the house was. The view was very beautiful, often we would either be on the back deck or inside with the door open with the screen. We could easily see staying there again.

We checked in and left the house within the hour. Luckily, we found a nearby Best Western hotel for one night and a Best Western hotel in Sandy the other night because a family canceled their hotel reservation last minute. We walked in and the house had a funky, old smell. The a/c was not on and it was 90 degrees. The fans were running but not adequately. There was an antiquated cool air mister in the dining room that was supposed to cool the living space, but it didn’t work and wouldn’t cool the whole house anyway, especially the bedrooms and bathrooms. We opened the sliding door to help ventilate but the bugs were getting in the house through the screen door. We were sitting at the dining room table and getting bit by gnats, mosquitoes, etc. If we wanted to get eaten by bugs or sit in a muggy, smelly space we would have camped for a much cheaper price. For reference, earlier on our vacation we stayed in a glamping tent and treehouse. Both locations had better ventilation, no bugs, and no stale smells. We can handle rustic and older places but not for the price they charged. When I contacted the host they said this was a first for them. Well, it’s a first for me too. I’ve never not stayed at a booked reservation. We aren’t sure if we’ll get reimbursed but we didn’t feel comfortable sleeping at this home. We had an added expense paying for the hotel 2 nights.

Family getaway

The Rauch cabin was a very peaceful place to stay during our visit from California. Everything was easy and seamless, from booking to directions. The kitchen was well stocked and labeled and the deck was the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning.

Salmon river house

The view of the river was breathtaking. The house is fully stocked and every game and puzzle is available. We were happy to see out the kitchen window, a deer!

The owners are accommodating and communicative. The home is cute and well-appointed. And that RIVERVIEW is awesome. The back deck can be your whole vacation!

If you like Amazing views, this place is for you.

This house has it all. From the deck that overlooks the Salem River, to every utensil you could need for cooking, and they even put glasses in the freezer, which made for a very nice cold drink. There was even a hammock stand, with the hammock in the garage for use. We unfortunately didn't utilize this trip, but maybe next time. Love this place.

Mt Hood Skiing Trip

We enjoyed our stay here. It was pouring rain most of the time, so the wood stove was greatly appreciated and made the living space very cozy. This property was clean and well kept. The communication with the owner was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing getaway

It was exactly what we were looking for. A little getaway from the city and a nice time to unwind. The cabin was as advertised, it was fully stocked with everything that you may need and close enough to stores in case you needed some last minute food items. The owners make sure you know exactly what to do, and where everything is at. We completely enjoyed our stay. Thank you for offering your home to rent.

Property is as described. Home has everything you may need to cook with. Is very well stocked with toiletries and towels. When we showed up, the house was very clean! We very much enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable vacation house

The river out back was neat. I wouldn't mind staying here in the spring too! House is very clean, has everything you might need to cook with plenty of precautions for in case of emergency. Its just a 20 minutes drive to Ski Bowl.

Our favorite nature retreat

Our second stay here was just as impressive as our first! We especially loved the nature display of salmon jumping and sunlight on the river, enjoyed from the deck all day long. Thank you to the wonderful hosts!

Home Stay

Some places are houses, the Rauch cabin is a home, the feel of a home. Being on the Salmon river is neat, but special so this time of year with the fish moving upstream. Highly recommend. Thank you to the Rauch family

Great family vacation spot

We had a great time, house had everything we needed. Close to amenities, grocery store and restaurants. Beautiful country, close to water falls, hiking trails, river, fishing, golf. We went up to Mt Hood’s Timberline Lodge and Government Camp. In the evening we enjoyed the back deck overlooking the river, grilled out and watched the salmon swim up the river. We had a great family vacation.

A great, cozy, comfortable house, great year round. In the winter, there is nothing better than sitting by the wood stove and reading or playing games or watching a movie - unless it's the summer when it's hard to beat sitting on the deck right above the Salmon River and watching and listening as it goes by; with a great view of the tree covered mountains across the river. Very peaceful and comfortable for a short or long getaway. And all the activity you could wish for within miles: golf, hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, and more.
