The city is located about 19 miles south of Oakland, 30 miles southwest of San Francisco, and 20 miles north of San Jose. There are some great restaurants in Union City, with everything from white-tablecloth dining to fast-food like Jollibee. You can also cater for yourself with a great selection of specialty food shops and grocery stores, as well as the Union Landing Shopping Center. Union City has its own BART station so that locals can zip around Silicon Valley. There's also local bus service, which makes it easy to live here without a car.
