RENTAL AVAILABILITY: MAY 10- NOV 15:
Rent all or some of the rooms (3 bedroom/3 bathroom fully equipped house and 2 private bungalows with shared kitchen)

The beach is just steps away and the most awesome pool in Troncones even closer. Amazing ocean/beachfront views from the outdoor kitchen, dining area, living room, downstairs bedroom, upstairs 'palapa' dining room, upstairs master bedroom and bungalows.

The property has 5 bdrs (six beds) and 5 bathrooms. The main house contains 3 bdrs and 3 bathrooms and is two stories. It is available for rent May 1-Nov 15th. 2 individual bungalows, available for rent year round are close to the main house and each includes a queen bed, bathroom, outside shared living and dining area and small kitchen. Each bungalow has its own private patio.

The upstairs master ocean view bdr has a king bed and it's own balcony and is near another bdr with 2 singles for kids or 1 king for adults. Downstairs is another bdr with queen bed and ocean view. The upstairs 'palapa' room (underneath the palapa roof), has a glorious ocean/beach/sunset view - it is spectacular. Enjoy ocean and garden views as you ascend the winding, outside staircase to access the palapa room, it's round table and comfortable sofa.

Do you love to cook? You will not find a more beautiful kitchen anywhere. You're view is spectacular. This is heaven for foodies! Guadelupe, our onsite chef will even shop and cook meals for you if you like! Let us know if you'd like our special bed and breakfast rate!

The shallow part of the 50-foot-long lap section of the pool is steps away from the house, and the lap area gradually slopes deeper into a seven meter diameter, 8 foot depth deep end, with a large 'wet deck' in 2-3 inches of water for relaxing while staying cool and enjoying your favorite beverage...

You can surf, bodysurf, and boogie board, right in front of our property because we are on the clearest stretch of rock free beach; rinse off in the beachfront outdoor shower, and dip in the pool.

We have 3 glorious hammocks for hanging around in. 1 is a double for sharing lazy moments with your honey!

Troncones is a charming small town (pop. 500), 'downtown' being just over a kilometer (2/3 mile) away by beach stroll or dirt road, with restaurants, small stores, and some shopping just minutes away.

Present Moment retreat is a 5 minute walk down the beach for yoga, qigong and dance classes daily as well as evening entertainment and great food and atmosphere.

Ixtapa resort (20 minutes away by car) or Zihuatanejo (35 minutes away), a lovely port city (sportfishing, diving/snorkeling, shopping, restaurants) of about 60,000. You can hire a 'panga' to go fishing from Majahua, a quaint Mexican village 10-15 minutes away by car or beachfront road 'combi' (bus). You will love it here!! Refund policy: 1/2 due for deposit, the rest 60 days before arrival, full refund minus a 10% fee if cancelled more than 60 days ahead, 25% min. fee if less than 60 but we will only refund what we are able to re-book for your time, minus the 25% fee; we recommend traveler insurance.

The best house I've stayed at in Troncones!My family and I have stayed at numerous properties in Troncones and I've told my husband that I never want to stay anywhere other than Villa Firefly. Everything about the property is perfect: we loved the open living area with views to the ocean. Washing dishes while looking at the waves is a dream. The pool was large and refreshing and all the little spots to relax were great. We were a group of 4 couples and 2 kids and we went from the dining area to the living area to the outside open air seating area to the spacious pool. It was a short walk to the main part of town and the beachside restaurants (and turtle rescue). The beds were comfortable; everything was clean; and the landscaping was beautiful. Truly this is the perfect stay for a group.

Paradise on earth

My extended family of nine were quite comfortable at Casa Firefly. The house and location exceeded our expectations. There was a surf break out back that we took advantage of daily. We practiced every day there. For better conditions we drove to the break at Majahua beach about 2 miles away. We even drove to La Saladita beach about 20 minutes away to enjoy one of the best left handed point breaks in the world. My son caught a 400 yard wave back to shore from the outer break on his last run of the day. Super impressive wave at La Saladita. Everyone in town is super friendly and everyone knows each other. I felt like I fit right in after 3 days. Efren did a wonderful job with the property and was very helpful with any questions we had. His wife cooked dinner for us 6 nights and the food was delicious!! I would highly recommend this property to anyone going to Troncones. The only downside was the heat in August. We went during a long dry spell and had difficulty sleeping at night due to the heat. It did rain the last night and the ocean breeze felt like an A/C, quite refreshing!! Iā€™m sure itā€™s lovely during the wintertime. Overall I give this property 5 stars and a very positive recommendation. I hope to return next year maybe late spring or early fall.

Property is Fabulous!!

Host were friendly and nice ! I would stay again in a heartbeat. However , there was a very tense atmosphere with the host and children . This place is more or less meant to be very relaxed and chilled . Children will be children. We kept our children disciplined and still felt we had done something bad on the property. BungalĆ³ , Pool , amenities all a WOW!!!! Ocean breeze amazing at night . I recommend casa luciergnaga to anyone wanting to wind down . Local food is on point . Canā€™t beat that anywhere ! Just What we were looking for

We stayed in one of their Bungalows and shared the outdoor kitchen with a Guest in the other one. Very nice setup and a peaceful place to relax and enjoy what the beach has to offer. Very well planned out and you will enjoy meeting your hosts!

Amazing first time in Troncones

6 of us rented the main house and bungalows for 5 days. Took about 30 minutes to pick our jaws up off the floor after we first arrived; the house and lot are absolutely gorgeous. Place was superb for relaxing and there's a perfect spot for bodyboarding behind the house to the right. Everything throughout the stay went smooth and without issue. The worst thing about the trip was having to leave. We will definitely be back. Also, the onsite staff was amazing as well. We paid to have breakfast made for us each day (amazing) and the main caretaker, Efren, went out of his way multiple times to ensure our stay was very enjoyable. A++

Little Piece of Paradise

My husband and 2 year old son stayed in one of the bungalows for over 2 weeks in March and fell in love with the town, people and this property. Greg and Leela are very hospitable and can help you if you have any questions in regards to the town, restaurants, etc. My husband surfs and drove up to the surf every morning (highly recommend a car if you're planning on surfing on a regular basis as it's about a 20 minute drive). We absolutely loved the beautiful beach that we often had to ourselves and we used the pool regularly. We'll be visiting Troncones again for sure!

Amazing Stay On the Beach

This was the first time we had been to Troncones, and were bringing our kids and grandkids. So we rented the main villa and the two bungalows. It was an amazing adventure. First off, let me warn you, the month of May is HOT! But we lived in the pool and took many walks on the beach. The views are stunning and to sit in the pool and watch and listen to the ocean is such a treat! There were 10 of us total and we had them cook our dinners every night. Food was amazing!!! Food was above and beyond, and our host, Efren made our stay so enjoyable. He gave directions, referrals, suggestions, etc that we wouldn't have known otherwise. Troncones is off the beaten path and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your time. What a great experience. Will be back. Would like to try a different time of year!

Secluded Garden Paradise a Stones Throw from Lovely Beach

This was our 1st trip to Troncones, a remote town about 20 minutes north of "Z". With a 3 mile long unspoiled beach front bordered by coco's, cozy seafood restaurants, a yoga facility with amazing restaurant(Present Moment Retreat), horseback rides, moderate surf for boggie boarding, and miles of bicycling(dirt or road),,,plenty to keep you busy all day and return to your bungalow or villa ready to relax. We stayed a week in one of the bungalows. Cooking facilities were available including a shared refridge with all the necessities. A beautiful pool, yoga deck, lounging area and gardens keep you cool when the sun gets hot at midday. Sunsets are gorgeous and can be enjoyed on the immediate property or down on the yoga deck. Evenings are quiet(except for the sound of the surf which lulls you to sleep) but a short walk to town provides nightly entertainment. If you want to go into Z or Ixtapa there is public transportation. Greg and Leela have gone overboard to make their bungalows and villa comfortable and clean. If you would like to go bike riding with a local expert then Greg is your guy-but be prepared to be challenged on the hills! 1st class surfing is just up the road a few miles and getting there is a fun adventure in traveling through villages and farmland. My wife and I had an incredible time at Casa Firefly. As birders we appreciated the numerous guidebooks and information available on-site, as well as the assistance of Greg and Leela in learning about the local area's birding opportunities. And the locals are friendly(helps to know a little Spanish) and gracious. I could go on and on about our trip to Troncones and staying at Casa Firefly. In short we had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the rural but beautiful part of Mexico. Life's a beach.

Best house in Troncones

We have been going to Troncones for many years now and this was our 4th stay at this house and the 1st time since Leela And Greg purchased the house. A lot of improvement has been made to the house! It is now even more comfortable than it used to be. It is one of the best house in Troncones. This time we rented the whole property for 3 weeks with my whole family (9 persones from 4 months old to 81 years old) everybody had a blast and more than enough room. The pool is amazing and the ocean is only steps away. The pictures are very accurate. Efren (caretaker of the house) is very friendly and did a great job making our stay confortable. Troncones is a great town with everything that you need (restaurants, convenient stores, pharmacy, surf rentals...) and the locals are amazing. We hope to be able to go back again soon. We would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful property!

My family had a very good time staying at Casa Firefly. We stayed in one of the bungalows. Leela and Greg were great hosts, making our stay very comfortable. The property was very clean and beautiful, the photos are very accurate. My 5 year old son had an amazing time swimming in the pool, and so did we. The ocean was steps away, and the beach was clean and perfect for swimming and surfing. The village of Troncones was so much fun, with all of the ammenities that you would need within walking distance. We all had a blast and would recommend this property. We would love to go back some day.

Paradise Found

We stayed here for a week and had a fabulous time. Everything about this place was great. It is a beautiful, private, clean and well cared for home and property with a deluxe pool in front of one of the best areas for boogie boarding and body surfing on Troncones Beach. The beach is very safe, you can walk for miles and no one will bother you, even in the wee hours of the morning. We stayed in a bungalow which was very comfortable and you are steps from the pool and the beach. There is a full time (English speaking) caretaker family on the property who are very friendly and helpful. If Leela and Greg are there, even better, as they know everyone and everything about the area and are happy to help you connect with all types of local resources for surfing, biking, and snorkeling. They can also tell you which restaurant to go to each night to get the best sampling of food and entertainment. We are already planning our next trip there, where we will rent the entire property, (2 bungalows and the fabulous open air main house), for a larger group vacation. My wife and I stayed in a bungalow for a week. It was an excellent trip to traditional old Mexico away from the tourist resorts, but still had plenty of locals to assist with our poor Spanish speaking skills, and local restaurants offering good food. The beach was fabulous, safe, and had remarkably few people. Sunset horseback riders and good size waves created an iconic image of the place for me. We look forward to going back.

This house is beautiful, so comfortable and the location is amazing. We felt like kings and queens living in a castle! This is probably the best swimming/boarding spot on the whole beach... Just steps outside the back door. The pool, kitchen, yard are all big and beautiful. The staff who came to clean and care for the lawn were amazing. We would rent it again for sure.

Pictures don't do it justice! Best tortilla soup ever!

This villa was so much more beautiful than we expected! The price is fantastic for what you get. Marisela cooked Mole, Enchiladas and the best tortilla soup I've had in my life. We went with 12 friends to celebrate my fiancee's graduation from pharmacy school. Everything was perfect. The pool, the beach. Very private. There are many authentic restaurants with amazing food within walking distance. Everyone is so friendly. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a touristy experience. This is REAL Mexico where the food is so much better and the beaches are deserted and beautiful but you will see chickens wandering your restaurant. There are virtually no bugs! The weather was perfect. The ocean is a little rough so don't plan on snorkeling around here and it's much better suited for seasoned surfers than beginners. We LOVED the villas although beware that the bathroom is part of the villa (only a partial wall separates) so that means you hear everything. I would do it all again any day though. AMAZING place! I recommend going to Zihua and doing the cooking school at Patio Mexico if you're a foodie.

My partner and I are travelling for a year from Sydney Australia. We arrived in Troncones and after staying here for only 3 days we decided to stay for a month. We looked at a lot of rental possibilities when we first arrived in Troncones and this was by far one of the best. Casa Firefly was a dream to walk in to with every detail attended to for our arrival. Clean crisp linen and beautifully laid out towels adorned by flowers all added a very welcome greeting. The house has a wonderful location being only minutes walk to Present moment retreat where we took Yoga classes daily and treated ourselves to wonderful healthy meals in their resturant. We did cook at home a fair bit during our stay as the open aired kitchen has a wonderful view of the pool and beach. We loved the pool as it offers opportunity for laps as well as relaxing on the shallow edge. Orbe and his wife Marisela are available for any maintenance and cleaning needs and to help with arranging Taxis if you need. We would definitely stay at Casa Firefly again if we are to return to Troncones as it made our stay here wonderful.

We are Leela and Greg from WA. We've been spending our winters in Troncones for 10 years. Greg built a house on the beach south of Troncones and couldn't get enough of this area so after he sold that we decided we had to come back. We love the pristine beauty of this place and the incredible peace and calm not to mention all the water sports and other activities available. We are avid cyclists and yoga enthusiasts.

The charm of Casa Firefly is apparent as soon as you arrive. Original design, outdoor kitchen and living room, spectacular views and stunning landscape make this not only an amazing rental house, but also give it a great home feel.

The lap pool that opens up to a round pool is simply glorious. The beachfront is free from rocks so it's safe to swim. Hammocks are ready for you to laze in under an enramada for shade. Outdoor grill for delicious fresh locally caught seafood.

From December to May each year, you can also choose to come to Casa Firefly for a personally designed 1 or 2 week cleansing retreat with Leela, Detox Coach, Yoga Teacher and Embodiment/Aging Radiantly Mentor.
