We had a lovely week at the property. It was a quiet location with easy access to Tom Never Beach. Nice updated bathrooms!

Great stay in Nantucket

Whole family really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable, well decorated and tons of amenities. Highly recommend.

Be warned about cleanliness expectations.

We were ripped off at the end of our stay by the cleaning crew & host of this property. We left the home in good condition but after we checked out we were met with accusations that were completely untrue. Not only that but the host was extremely rude towards us and provided absolutely no evidence. We were told that we were responsible for typical cleaning duties such as mopping floors, cleaning sinks/surfaces and doing all of the laundry even though we paid a hefty cleaning fee. We were charged an absurd amount of additional $ to "cover" these standard services and of course we will be fighting that. Keep in mind we were told that we were personally responsible for cleaning this property in the midst of a global health pandemic! Scary! BEWARE!

Family Vacation with Teens

We had a lovely time at The Smithsonian. The house was sweet and very well appointed. Beautiful bed linens and headboards! Beautiful bathrooms--such a nice luxury on vacation. We loved Tom Nevers Beach and it is an easy bike ride from the house!! I think it is better than Cisco and Madaket beaches. A lovely time was had by all. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect Nantucket getaway

We vacation on Nantucket every summer, and this was one of the best stays. The cottage is spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and located in a great neighborhood. All essentials (beach chairs, towels, etc.) were provided, and a large deck with a grill was a great place for family meals. Other than a small misunderstanding regardless garbage pickup, our stay was perfect. Highly recommended.

Best Week!

We had a great week at the house with little ones as well. The rooms are perfect size and the bathrooms are beautifully done (which makes such a difference). The outdoor spaces were perfect and great for our morning coffee. We loved how peaceful it was and how close we were to Sconset. Can't wait to come back again!

Great Family Retreat

The Smithsonian was a great family vacation destination! An open relaxing layout, perfect for our family! Tom Nevers is the location on a beautiful side street. A mile to the beach and only a couple to Sconset. Although we had one rainy day, we cozied in and watched a movie and played games. One starry night we laid out on the back deck and star gazed for a couple of hours! There were two working bicycles to ride so we explored the beach area. The only obstacle that we came upon was not bringing our car over. We had to take Uber which added up and was a bit inconvenient. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Tom Nevers Home

Our family loved the property and the house. It was the perfect spot for our Labor day week getaway to Nantucket. The home had everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed as well as equipped to go to the beach with bicycles, beach chairs and extra coolers. We look forward to staying again next year.

Wonderful house!

We had a lovely stay at The Smithsonian as a small family. I have been coming to Nantucket every summer since I was a child and am now lucky to bring my own family and keep the traditions going. House is beautifully laid out and equipped with everything you need and more! The big lawn and two wonderful decks were perfect for our toddler to run around and enjoy the summer sun. I almost don't want to write anything else so we can keep it as our "secret"! Updated bathrooms, fantastic outdoor shower, tons of books about the history of the Island to browse in the cozy living room. Carol is available if you need anything or have questions. We hope to return again (and again and again)....

Great Summer Rental!

My family of five enjoyed another great vacation at this Nantucket house! It is such a great house with many inviting spaces inside plus a great yard, deck and outdoor shower! The house is also clean and equipped with everything you need. Tom Nevers is a great area of the island and a great place to escape during the busier times on Nantucket.

Awesome Family Getaway!

The Smithsonian is the perfect Nantucket get away for small families. The house is private with plenty of green lawn for kids to play. Great family neighborhood . The beaches are 5 minutes away, And there is a great ocean front playground for the kids to play anytime. Master bedroom with tiled Marbled bathroom and also a great outdoor shower . Two other bedrooms nicely decorated share another lovely bathroom . Livingroom, dinning-room ,den & 2 outside decks have room for great entertaining . The house is fun , clean and bright. It's quiet at this end of the island with Sconset just a short bike ride away. It was the perfect retreat for our family ! Can't wait to come back this summer. M Kelly

Beautiful House

We stayed here at Carol's house for 2 weeks in July, 2015. House is very nicely furnished, with recent updates to the bathrooms. The entire property is well maintained and very comfortable for our family of 5. Nice quiet area too, close to beaches. We hope to stay here again in 2016!

Lovely on Lyons Lane

The house was lovely, very comfortably decorated. This was one of three houses I rented to have all 18 of my family on the island together. The size and layout of this house was ever the best. The outside decks and large lawn area were perfect for evening meals together, with the children. New bathrooms were a special treat. Great rental, we hope to be back.

A great week!

Loved this clean and understated home. Not full of nicknacks and lobster traps! It's really very tastefully decorated with just the right amount of seaside charm. The cottage is stocked with lots of books to read, games to play and comfortable furniture to lounge on. The bathrooms are beautiful and well appointed. The outdoor shower is terrific for the after beach scrub. Tom Nevers is a terrific and quiet location close to the town of Siasconset and a short ride to downtown Nantucket. The owners of this home are very accommodating and helpful too. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nantucket.

Evening sky is wonderful in Tom Nevers, enjoy shooting stars all evening! Quite area yet, only a short distantance to town. A bicycle ride to Sconset.
