Quiet cabin in a great resort area

Loved the cabin it was in a quiet resort community and had everything we needed. Would recommend this to anybody wanting to get away a relax, close to cute towns with unique shopping and restaurants with amazing food.

Our main complaint was cleanliness. The loft bedroom and the downstairs bedrooms were quite dirty. The sheets were clean but the top blankets and pillow shams were dirty. Both screen doors were extremely difficult to open and shut. The kitchen and appliances were in good working order and clean. The kitchen table was very sticky and we were not able to get rid of the stickiness so we had to purchase a table cloth. A positive is that they provided lots of fans so even though no AC we were able to stay cool. And there were good TV and many movies and games to enjoy. Also there were plenty of towels to use and a fully stocked kitchen with everything you would need. The resort had several fun activities available as well. We enjoyed our trip and if a good deep cleaning was done it would have been a 5 star experience.

Nice cozy cabin, very quiet area

Cabin was very cozy and quiet. Could use some lighting at the spiral staircases. Overall we had a really nice time there.

Amazing and cozy!

We had a great experience, the cabin was clean, cozy and had essential items there for us. The environment is quiet and beautiful there’s lots of woods to explore.

Great time in the snow

We enjoyed a nice stay in the West Virginia mountains, with a comfortable fire in the fireplace and two feet of snow around us. The cabin is comfortable and well equipped, and the host was outstanding.

Perfect Getaway

Our mid-May, mid-week stay was quiet and peaceful. It was right in the middle of our hiking at Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls State Park. The cabin was layed out great, had all we could ask for. We enjoyed a nice fire three nights.

Beautiful

The property and cabins are beautiful. Nice views, quiet, friendly and felt very safe. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We watched deer in the woods right behind our cabin from our porch. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the fireplace every night of our week-long stay. We hated to leave.

Great spot to enjoy beautiful Canaan Valley!

We had a great time at the Rest Assured cabin! We planned our trip to see the Perseids meteor shower and couldn’t have asked for a better spot - we saw tons of shooting stars. We also enjoyed hiking in Dolly Sods and exploring Davis. With 2 humans and a dog, we had more than enough room. We enjoyed the patio and grill, and walking around the Black Bear Resort.

Mountain Escape

The Cabin was peaceful and warm,unfortunately our stay was cut short for personal reasons. Made you feel away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!

Perfect for our needs!

We were in town for the Highlands Sky 40 mile race. The cabin was perfect for our needs. The resort was quiet and centrally located to Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. There are tons of trails and wilderness in the area to explore. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and deceivingly roomy. Laura and Jeff were great to work with, and very responsive. We'd love to stay here again!

Great property!

This is a very nice little cabin that was just as described. Very clean and extremely well equipped with anything you might need. Beautiful forest view off the two decks. Excellent communication with the owner Laura. She was quick to answer questions and also provided additional helpful info about the area. Would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone wishing to explore Canaan Valley/Monongahela/Blackwater Falls.

Nice cabin, functional in most cold nights.

The coldest night we experienced was 9 degrees f; the cabin was fine. (Keep the supply of wood inside dry. If you anticipate cooking pancakes, bring your own large frypan or grill.) The deer came up to the cabin's back on snowy days.

Cabin was very cold upon arrival. Bath tub possibly had black mold on paneling. Beds were uncomfortable. Only two small logs left next to fireplace. No wood outside like was in pics. We were made to purchase a damage insurance policy for 59 which is ridiculous. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Dear Henry, I would like to apologize for the lack of firewood at our cabin. We have placed an order 2 weeks ago for more wood and I was hoping it would have been delivered by now. I just sent an email to find out why there is a delay. If you did run out of firewood I could have had maintenance bring you more for your stay. We do keep the heat turned down while the cabin is empty to help save on energy. Typically Black Bear does a pre check and turns it up some prior to our guests arrival. I will speak with them and ask for them to be sure to check the heat setting. Our cabin has always heated very quickly and our previous guests have been very satisfied. We do enjoy staying in our cabin ourselves and have memory foam mattresses for all the beds except the lower bunk bed. We personally find the beds to be very comfortable however not everybody has the same preferences on mattresses. There is some mildew around the wood and sealant on our jacuzzi tub. We have been told that it is not black mold and is not of any concern. It is cleaned well after each guest checks out. I am also unaware of VRBO requiring the purchase of a damage insurance. I will check into that as I have always known it to have been an option for the guests to purchase. Many guests enjoy and love staying in our cabin and we enjoy hosting them. Thank You, Laura
