CASA PAU – LARGE HOLIDAY HOME WITH PRIVATE POOL IN BERGUEDÀ

Casa Pau is a spacious and atmospheric holiday home for 19+3 guests, beautifully situated in the green countryside of Berguedà at the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Surrounded by fields, forests and open landscapes, the house offers plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. It is a great choice for several families or generations travelling together and wanting to combine relaxing days by the private pool with nature, activities and day trips in Catalonia.

One of the first things you will notice about Casa Pau is its unique setting. The traditional Catalan stone house is built on a large natural rock formation and almost seems to grow directly out of the landscape. This gives the property a very special character.

With approximately 550 m², 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, spacious communal areas, a private swimming pool, garden and plenty of activities, Casa Pau is particularly well suited to larger groups.

THE HOUSE AND FACILITIES

Casa Pau is a fine example of the traditional Catalan stone farmhouses found throughout inland Catalonia. The house has been restored with respect for its original character, and the thick stone walls and rustic details create a warm and authentic holiday atmosphere.

At the same time, Casa Pau is well equipped for modern holiday living. There is plenty of space for everyone to spend time together, while the size of the house also makes it easy to find a quiet corner when you want some time to yourself.

SPACIOUS COMMUNAL AREAS

When travelling with 15-20 people, good communal areas make a real difference.

Casa Pau has several living areas with sofas and seating, making the house ideal for several families or generations travelling together.

The large dining area allows the whole group to gather around the table, and the kitchen is well equipped with facilities including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee makers.

The house also offers Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine and other practical facilities that make a stay with a large group comfortable and easy.

Casa Pau has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms and a standard capacity of 19 guests.

Up to 3 extra beds can also be added.

PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL AND LARGE GARDEN

During the warm Catalan summer, much of your holiday will naturally be spent outdoors.

Casa Pau has a large private garden overlooking the peaceful countryside and surrounding hills.

The private swimming pool measures approximately 8 x 4 metres and is fenced. This is especially practical for families with younger children, as the pool area can be separated from the rest of the garden.

Around the pool there is plenty of space to relax, enjoy the sunshine and watch the children swim and play.

COVERED TERRACE AND BARBECUE

The terrace and covered barbecue area form one of the natural gathering places at Casa Pau.

Enjoy breakfast in the fresh country air, find shade during the hottest hours of the day and finish the evening with a long dinner while the sun sets over the surrounding landscape.

The combination of a private pool, garden, terrace and spacious communal areas makes Casa Pau particularly suitable for larger groups who value having plenty of time and space together.

ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS

There are several activities available directly at Casa Pau.

Facilities include table tennis, table football, a trampoline, football goals and swings.

Children and teenagers therefore have plenty to keep them entertained while the adults relax on the terrace or by the swimming pool.

THE AREA AROUND CASA PAU

Casa Pau is situated in the municipality of Sagàs in the southern part of Berguedà.

The small village of Sagàs is approximately 800 metres from the house, and nearby you will find old oak forests and pleasant possibilities for walks directly from the property.

The location gives you the feeling of staying deep in the Catalan countryside while still being relatively easy to reach.

Gironella is approximately 8 km away, while Prats de Lluçanès is approximately 7 km from Casa Pau. Both towns offer shops and other everyday necessities.

DISCOVER BERGUEDÀ AND THE PYRENEES

Berguedà is an excellent destination for guests wanting to experience a different side of Catalonia from the Mediterranean coast.

Here, the rolling landscapes of central Catalonia meet the first impressive mountains of the Pyrenees, creating a region filled with nature, traditional villages, culture and outdoor activities.

Casa Pau is therefore an excellent base for both active days and relaxed drives through the countryside.

PEDRAFORCA AND CADÍ-MOIXERÓ

One of the best-known natural landmarks in the area is Pedraforca.

With its distinctive twin peaks, the mountain has become one of the symbols of Berguedà.

Nearby you will also find the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, with an extensive network of hiking routes and impressive mountain scenery. It makes a great day trip from Casa Pau.

BERGA AND QUERALT

The regional capital Berga is also worth visiting.

Here you will find shops, restaurants and a pleasant town centre.

Above Berga, the Sanctuary of Queralt enjoys a spectacular position with panoramic views over the surrounding landscape. It is particularly worth visiting on a clear day.

GIRONELLA AND THE LLOBREGAT RIVER

Only around 8 km from Casa Pau is Gironella, situated along the Llobregat River.

It is a convenient town for shopping and also a good place to experience everyday life in this part of Catalonia.

Berguedà also has an interesting industrial history connected to the Llobregat River, where textile production once played an important role. Several historic textile colonies can still be visited today.

LA BAELLS RESERVOIR AND ACTIVE HOLIDAYS

If you enjoy an active holiday, Berguedà offers plenty of possibilities.

Activities in the region include hiking, mountain biking, cycling, kayaking, water sports and various adventure activities.

At the large La Baells reservoir north of Berga, you can combine activities on the water with beautiful mountain scenery.

DISCOVER OSONA AND VIC

Casa Pau is also well located for exploring the neighbouring region of Osona.

Driving southeast, you can combine the natural landscapes of Berguedà with historic towns and villages in central Catalonia.

Vic makes an excellent day trip.

The city is known for its historic centre, the impressive Plaça Major and its traditional market.

The market takes place on Tuesdays and Saturdays and is one of our favourite excursions in the area. It is a great place to shop for local products, enjoy lunch and explore the charming old town.

VISIT THE PLA DE BAGES WINE REGION

If you are interested in wine and gastronomy, head south to the Pla de Bages wine region around Manresa.

The area has its own D.O. wine designation and is especially known for the local Picapoll grape variety.

Several wineries offer visits and tastings, making this a great day trip for wine lovers.

DAY TRIP TO BARCELONA OR THE BEACH

Although Casa Pau is located in peaceful countryside, you can easily combine your stay with a day in the city or by the Mediterranean Sea.

Take a day trip to Barcelona and explore its famous architecture, historic neighbourhoods, restaurants, shopping and attractions.

If you prefer the sea, you can also spend a day on the Mediterranean coast and combine your countryside holiday with a day at the beach.
