Casa Monica is a traditional Catalan farmhouse that has been restored and has space for 13 people. It is now a holiday gem of very high quality - in totally stunning surroundings. Here you live peacefully among hills with trees, and with a pool in the garden, this is the base for an unforgettable holiday.

There are no noisy neighbors - only the quiet countryside. The hilly landscape, cultivated fields and small streams creates a special atmosphere, and despite the hot and dry climate, the garden at the house is green and neat. There is a very beautiful view from virtually anywhere in the house and garden.

When you enter the nice entry, you are met by a large spacious family room. Here there is a cozy corner with comfortable sofas, and behind this, there is a large and wide dining table, where you can enjoy your meals. Next to the family room the authentic kitchen is where you have all the necessary utensils - including a dishwasher, a washing machine, a microwave and many other things. The kitchen is great, and the owner has put a lot of effort into it. From the aforementioned living room there is a staircase to the first floor where the bedrooms of the house are: There are a total of 7 rooms, of which 1 is a single room and 6 double rooms. Several of the beds can be moved apart, so can adapt the rooms. All rooms are of high quality and are very spacious. Two of the bedrooms have a huge shared balcony with chairs, where the sunset can be enjoyed in the evening. From one of the bedrooms you can actually see the sunset directly from the bed. There are 4 bathrooms in total, of which one is en suite. They are all modern and beautifully decorated.

Much of your time down here will be spend in the lovely garden, and especially the plant covered terrace will be the holiday’s natural meeting point. The fact that the garden is fairly green shows that the owners have put a lot of work into it. It's rare that a house has such a beautiful and well-kept garden like this. Up behind the covered terrace there is a wonderful little orchard, where you can taste real Catalan fruit.

A clear hit among the kids is the swimming pool. With a size of 32 m2 and with sun beds for all guests in the house, this is the perfect place for ultimate relaxation. Here you can enjoy the Catalan sun at full blast, and if it gets too hot, you can take swim in the cooling water. The pool is located on top of a cliff, and there has been placed a fence around it. There are also at the pool breathtaking views over the Catalonian countryside.

Behind the house there is a swing, football and basket.
The nearest town, Gironella, is located just 9 km away. Here there are both shopping, cafes and restaurants.

Lisbeth and I (Bertel) are the owners of the company SYDENS FERIEHUSE. For the last 14 years we have engaged in letting out fantastic Catalan holiday homes, all of which live up to our criterias: they are authentic, charming homes and are all of a very high standard. We help Monica and her family let out CASA MÓNICA.

We consider the perfect holiday to consist of two parts - a nice holiday home and some great excursions and activities. For each part of Catalonia we have made an activity document with our personal recommendations. Catalonia - culture and landscape: Catalans pride themselves on good eating too, and you will find some of Spain's finest restaurants here. Catalan food is typically Mediterranean, featuring olive oil as its staple component. As the region is so geographically diverse, it provides a variety of fresh high quality meat, poultry, game, seafood, fruit and vegetables and a great variety of wild mushrooms. Fine red and white wines are produced here, and Catalan sparkling wines (cavas) are favourite celebratory wines around the world.

Central Catalonia - The true Spain: Central Catalonia is situated where the Llobregat-river winds it is way from the Pyrenees down towards Barcelona. It is not heavily populated, and in the small town and villages you blend in with local life. The region is ideal for families or groups, who want a diversified vacation.
The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest. From almost any point, you have view to the steep Pyrenees that raise in the distance, probably some of the most beautiful mountains of the world. The area provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports- and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, angling, canoeing, river crafting or perhaps a visit to the owners farm.
Central Catalonia is situated in 400-800 metres altitude and has more than 300 sunny days on a year. If you visit the region in the spring or the autumn, most days will be pleasant, with temperatures from 18-25 degrees in the day time.
