Enjoy this unique studio decorated like a western 1890's Parlor. This house has everything our larger ones do just smaller. Fully furnished including a washer and dryer, full kitchen, (no dishwasher), BBQ, private hot tub with Chiminea to enjoy those Phoenix lights at night. Central location with easy and close access to Interstate 51, 17 and the 101. Comfy king size bed a perfect setting for someone on the go or a romantic weekend for two. Golf, shopping, restaurants nearby.

The place is so cool! It’s set up in time period fashion and made the stay so fun. The old magazines were cool too look through as well. The view was amazing!

Thr room was great! Small but everything we needed. The hot tub was a godsend and the view is amazing. I had a lot of fun stargazing and watching the planes from the close airport.

Excellent little spot

Looked for a quiet place in the metro to unwind and this was perfect. Comfortable, excellent view, close enough to everything but felt far away. Loved the furnishings and ambience. Will stay again!

Beautiful mountainside parlor

We had a great time staying at this property! It is just what we were expecting for our vacation in Phoenix! The bed was so comfortable and the views are spectacular, especially at sunset. The shower was great also! We would definitely stay at Fran's mountainside property again!

Mountain side retreat

Our stay here was wonderful. Privacy having your own deck to enjoy with hot tub and fire was ideal. Property owners were very helpful and responsive for any questions. There are 2 more homes avail on hill that would be wonderful as well. Should we ever travel to AZ with more than just two people I would be sure to contact Fran in the future to stay in one of the larger homes. Oh and not to mention watching the hot air balloon every sunrise and sunset from our deck to make you get out there and try that adventure. Was amazing!!!

Lovely Little Private Spot in Phoenix

I'll start off by saying that the owners of this property are very nice people. I had some trouble with my car rental and they helped me out which was very much appreciated. The property itself was beautiful nestled on Sunset Mountain in Phoenix beautiful sunsets sunrises. The hot tub with clean and working properly with a beautiful view. The Parlor inside the rental space was uniquely decorated and very cozy. Full kitchen nice bedding in bed. A very welcoming cozy nice spot to spend time.

Great Location!

Small quarters were very manageable for us as a couple. Excellent responsiveness of owner who is nearby and responded promptly to all questions. We loved the outside seating, sunset and early morning views, use of BBQ. Quiet, pleasant stay! On the down side, the property is dark, interior lighting is not bright enough to facilitate reading , as an example, anywhere but from the bed. Kitchen lighting seemed darker than desirable in order to determine if dishes etc. were clean.

No access code. Couldn't check-in.

Contacted the owner at 3, 4, 5 PM requesting the access code for the property but no responses until after 6:30 PM when I was checking in to another hotel. Was communicating fine until the check in date. Access code at 3 PM check in time should be automatic. Verify unsatisfied.

It is true. But what happen was, I always send the map and the code at the same time. For some reason I didn't this time. They did contact me and I did not receive any notification from VRBO. If someone contacts me through the vacation sites I always get a text on my phone from Airbnb and I didn't get any from VRBO, so when checking the site I noticed they had sent me a message. I sent the code and I called but no answer so I contacted them a few times through VRBO and offered an upgrade from the studio to our largest unit a 2 bedroom. I finally heard back and they were not interested. It was my mistake and I felt terrible. We have been doing this for a very long time with our four houses and thankfully haven't had such a problem.

Perfect for two

This small western themed casita is perfect for a couple. We loved the decor (Hurricane lamps, keys, lots of western style). We loved the walk in shower with the overhead sprinkler. We enjoyed the deck hot tub with great views of the western sky and Phoenix suburbs. It had all the amenities of a much larger and more expensive place. The king size bed was very cozy and comfortable. My girlfriend rarely sleeps more than 4-5 hours a night and she got two nights of 7+ here! Fran was very easy to work with. She was very accommodating to special requests and helped me set up a nice welcome package for the lady. I could not be more appreciative of her efforts. We had a wonderful two night stay and would book any of their properties again. The only minor negative.... make a note to arrive for the first time in the daylight. It is a little hard to find even with the great directions and visual aid supplied by the hosts. One of the best VRBO's at this price point I have ever stayed in.

If you’re looking for a unique, cozy, memorable experience, this is perfect. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views of the sunset. Excellent and prompt communication from the owner.

Once in the room it feels a bit like Deadwood which I love. The only thing is the jacuzzi wasn’t the cleanest. Beautiful view.

That is odd. We clean the spa's after every rental, even if it has been a rental for only one day. We do that religiously. At times people will put the spa on eco mode which cools it down, so it is a neccesity to go to the spa's after every rental. The only thing I can think of is possible the top wasn't on completely and it was windy and particles blew in

Authentically appointed with 1890s Western theme

We had a lovely time! Property is secluded, owner gave superb directions to this hide-away. Small kitchen worked great because the kitchen was well equipped with all essentials. Loved arriving to music playing and some coffee ready for the next day. Spices, linens, extra toiletries, tissues, paper towels, .... The owners know what details make the difference. Property is situated on a hillside wash below a main home, but there was total privacy and even two outdoor tables and bbqs (and a fire pit and hot tub) to enjoy.

The check-in process was extremely smooth even not having access to my phone at the time- the host was incredibly kind and the hot tub was easy to use and well worth the money. A very charming parlor perfect for a couples getaway. The only thing that I had a slight issue with was the water, unfortunately there seemed to be a slight off-putting smell, likely due to an older water tank- the kitchen sink was leaking below although I’m sure the host is working diligently to fix these issues. We even had car troubles, but the host offered to help jump our car and we weren’t even upset we couldn’t leave because the view was beautiful and weather perfect.

Peaceful Western Oasis

Where to start...Firstly, the location is awesome...although the home is located within a neighborhood, the home itself is isolated. The location is great for a couple needed "us" time or to just escape from "day to day" life. The outdoor space allows for grilling and making a fire in free standing (and movable) units. At night, the stars light up the sky. The home is a throwback to the old west...there is even a old safe used as an end table. The master-bedroom has an actual boulder in the middle of the wall, with part in the house and part outside. Excellent stay and exceptionally enjoyable.

Perfect accomidation for the vacationing couple

Great place for the vacationing couple.. Only real complaint was the sheer curtains on front windows allowing more light in then we are accustomed to.. But With a little ingenuity, we were able to use an interior decorative curtain to block most of windows.. The parlor is up on a hill over looking a nice neighborhood.. so no real privacy concerns. Would 100% stay again.

Loved staying in "The Parlor"!

Our first impression was great, and that continued! The property is very quaint and pretty. We were very comfortable; it was everything we expected and more. The view is terrific; we enjoyed it from the hot tub every evening. Would definitely return to this or any of the owners other homes on the property.

Our names are Fran and Kent Titze. We are orginally from Omaha, Nebraska and Nebraska football is our passion for fun! We are fortunate to have most of our children and grandchild within minutes from us, not to mention Kents mom right in a guest house in front of us. We love our two Golden Retrievers, Dewey and Lu Lu and feel very lucky to be blessed by all of the above!

The Parlor is one of four of our Casitas that sets on our mountain we call Sunset Mountain. This was the last house we remodeled out of the four and probably decorated the best! We decided in 2005 to start our vacation homes project and thought it would be fun to have each one differently themed and decorated accordingly. So on Sunset Mountain we have The Margarita, a Spanish themed one bedroom house, then our other one bedroom, The Mirage with a Island decor and then our only two bedroom the western Ranchero! The Parlor is sort of a guest house of The Ranchero. They are all located together and could be rented for a large family reunion, wedding party, etc!

Our benefits for this property is the uniqueness of it. We didn't hold back on the decor, with this western theme. From antique lanterns, to saddle bags and wood walls and wallpaper you won't be disappointed for something different! Also our location is great. If you are wanting something small, intimate but yet comfortable The Parlor is your choice!
