Sobre esta propriedade
Restored Historic Farmhouse Near Kezar Lake & Country Club
Experience the charm of the historic Kimball-Chandler House, a beautifully restored 19th-century farmhouse offering modern comforts. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and space for up to eight guests, it's perfect for family getaways, small events, or wedding overflow. Enjoy views of a peaceful brook, a cozy interior, and a large, grassy yard. Just minutes from Kezar Lake, Pleasant Mountain, and local attractions, it’s an ideal spot for both relaxation and adventure.
Built in the early 19th century -- though to be one of the oldest houses in Lovell -- this classic connected New England farmhouse was abandoned for decades before it was lovingly restored over the course of two years, finishing in 2025. The renovation preserved its original character while adding modern comforts. With a decor inspired by Shaker and early American design, and furnished throughout with antiques, our goal was to make this special house a place where you can truly settle in.
Living Spaces
The central living room is a comfortable, welcoming space with plenty of seating and a pull-out queen-size sofa for extra guests. The kitchen and dining area, with its vaulted ceiling and open layout, is the heart of the home. A long farmhouse table seats eight, and the kitchen is fully stocked with a gas range, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, and all the cookware and dinnerware you might need. Radiant floor heating in the bathrooms and efficient heating and cooling throughout keep the house comfortable in every season.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The first bedroom, in the original part of the house, highlights beautifully restored Federal-period woodwork from the home’s earliest days. It has a queen-size bed, a full closet, and an adjacent bathroom with laundry. The front bedroom includes a work area with high-speed internet, making it easy to balance relaxation with remote work.
The master suite, set apart off the kitchen at the back of the house, is a quiet retreat. It contains a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom. Wake up to the ever-changing beauty of the brook just outside your window: studded by little waterfalls over the rocks, sometimes it produces a gentle murmur, sometimes a rushing cascade after the rain, and in winter, a glistening world of ice.
The lofted bunk room offers two twin beds, a bean bag chair, and a view of the stream. While it has a charming and private feel, it’s open to the kitchen and dining areas below and may not be suitable for young children or older guests.
Outdoors & Location
The house sits on a rolling piece of land with a back porch overlooking the brook, a peaceful spot to drink coffee in the morning or take in the fresh air. In the summer, the gardens offer rhubarb, asparagus, and wild blackberries. The brook out back is apparently stocked with brook trout for your fishing pleasure (though I’ve never caught one). The large, grassy dooryard has plenty of room for parking, including space for boats or snowmobile trailers, and a Level 2 EV charger is available. The driveway is grass and will be plowed in winter, but it may be tricky in mud season.
Kezar Lake is less than five minutes away, and the house is just across from the Kezar Lake Country Club and Ebenezer’s Restaurant. Pleasant Mountain is nearby for skiing and hiking, and there’s easy access to snowmobiling and ATV trails. A guidebook is provided with recommendations for local spots worth exploring.
