The Space:

Enjoy the southern charm and bustling city life that Charleston has to offer at this renovated four-bedroom home! With four floors full of comfort, incredible appliances, comfortable beds, well-equipped bathrooms, 207 St. Phillip is not playing games when it comes to lodging experience. Apart from its location, highlights of this house include a full kitchen with an over-sized island that seats eight, an abundance of natural light, and hardwood flooring throughout. This charming home away from home is made up of four levels; the main living space on the second floor and sleeping areas on the third and fourth floors. Please keep in mind that 207 St. Phillip doesn't have an elevator, so you have to walk up the stairs.

This retreat is conveniently located on the corner of St. Philip and Spring Street on a well-kept block filled with local bars–the location could not be better! And that's not it. You'll be sitting directly above an Asian-fusion restaurant with incredible sushi specials. The historic city of Charleston seamlessly combines southern hospitality with the fast pace of a lively city–it has something for everyone. One of the must-visit places of this city is The Battery, which was formerly the heart and soul of the city’s maritime activity and now is an unbelievably beautiful promenade perfect for strolls to see beautiful homes and Southern-style mansions. Book a foodie tour at Charleston Culinary Tours to experience the city’s food culture, which is another major draw for tourists and locals alike. One and a half miles away is the popular Joe Riley Waterfront Park, a family-friendly open space facing the Charleston Harbor. It's a great place for picnics, strolls, playtime with your kids, and so much more. It even offers free WiFi in case you wish to lay down in the grass while browsing on your phone.

Came for bachelorette party, it was in the perfect area to celebrate as well as walk around and was able to accommodate 11 of us great. Had everything we needed in the place, temperature was good during the hot weekend. Lots of stairs but we expected it with the height of the buildings, just be mindful of that. Lastly just lots of moisture causing some areas on vents and ceiling to look dirty.

Great location

This was a great location in walking distance to King street. The house was advertised newly renovated but it needed some TLC. The upstairs bathroom had mold on shower doors. The windows were filthy and had no screens in them which is super dangerous in a 4 story building. The floors were in rough shape. We were missing a few important kitchen items in order to make Thanksgiving dinner. A few more larger pots, more glassware to suit 14 guests, a hand mixer or masher, more silverware. The noise level is tough from the street and even inside the house. You can hear conversations on the main floor way up in the Bedrooms. Not a place to rent if you have people who go to bed earlier than the rest of the crowd. The ice maker didn't work and we never were able to turn the cable on the TV.

Location was great

Location was really ideal - can walk to mostly everything in Charleston within a 25 minute timeframe max. With that said, you will hear everything outside through all hours of the night. No noise machine, no amount of margaritas or sleeping pills will keep you asleep through the engines revving and the garbage trucks coming at 5 AM that sound like they’re driving through the downstairs walls. If anyone gets up to use the bathroom in the house, you’ll likely hear this too. Just a very thin walled home made for late nights and not much sleep. Beds are comfortable. The twin room upstairs only has two twin beds and one has a trundle mattress stuffed underneath. If you’re OK with someone sleeping on the floor on a mattress, you’re able to fit 14 people like the listing says. The pull out couch and the Harry Potter bed under the stairwell too. I’d argue it sleeps 10 comfortably. Overall it worked for us because it was a bachelorette party, but wouldn’t seem this place out again due to the lack of sleep we got.

12 ladies stayed here. Great open space for large groups and awesome location if you want easy access to King Street. Free parking is a bonus.

Great location

We do a family vacation every year and choose a new city to explore. Charleston did not disappoint and neither did this home! Perfect location, we walked everywhere and were so happy to be so close to everything on King St. there were 8 of us and we all were comfortable and had plenty of space. Lots of great coffee shops and shopping. This house was perfect.

This was the perfect house for a girl's weekend. Perfect location for shopping and going out! The parking lot was a little tight for bigger cars though.

Place is as advertised. Plenty of room for all 7 women. The reviews mentioning noise are accurate. There are white noise machines in the room but would recommend bringing ear plugs. Would also possibly appreciate a few more blankets. Otherwise, wonderful location and property

Convenient place to stay in Charleston

Nice place, lots of stairs, there are stairs up to the three floors, the open floor plan is nice. My nephew loved the cozy nook under the stairs. Top floor doesn’t stay cool enough for me but we did stay on the hottest days of the year, bring a fan to help keep the air moving.

Great location, very responsive host

The house is a block from King Street, where there are tons of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Very well located. Well appointed and furnished. Couldn't ask for a more responsive host.

Perfect for our group of friends!

This property was perfect for our group of 10 friends! It’s a great, large space with comfortable beds and the location couldn’t be better. Super easy walk to all the restaurants and shopping on King Street and lots of great options for coffee and breakfast within one block. Would definitely book again for another group trip to Charleston!

Charleston girls trip

The property was spacious and the living / kitchen area great for a big group. Bit the property is tired and worn. It’s needs painting, new rugs and windows. The block is incredibly noisy across the street is a bar that is loud and open until 2am. We didn’t sleep much at all.

Perfect for a family gathering

We had a wonderful experience with our entire family here! The location was so convenient for walking anywhere in the downtown Charleston area, and the fact that it had parking for two vehicles was much appreciated so that we could drive to other locations that weren’t close enough to walk to, especially since we had small children. We had plenty of space to sleep everyone in the large area for cooking dining and playing games was perfect. We had read reviews that it was noisy at night (to be expected since it is in a busy area of nightlife) so we had sound machines for the little ones and earplugs for the adults. We all head great sleep. We prepared our meals here with no problems. We found the kitchen to be adequate and appreciated the complementary Charleston coffee. Any issues we had were properly taken care of - above and beyond! An upstairs faucet came off and we were really more concerned about breaking something than needing help, but they came within 30 minutes to repair it. We had such a wonderful stay. We had a one-year-old and three-year-old, and had looked at the pictures and knew there were stairs, so we brought a baby gate so that wasn’t an issue. We had a house full for five nights and we would definitely do it again in this same property.
