Love the water? Then make the beautiful Island Creek Resort your home for a week or a lifetime. This semi-private waterfront resort has 16 island-style homes designed for the active beach life.

Set on Avon's pristine north end and accessible only by bridge, Island Creek Resort offers over 1,000 feet of shallow sound-front access. Windsurfers, kite surfers, kayakers, and kids will love this ultra-friendly location, where miles of open Pamlico Sound facilitate launching, fishing, exploring, relaxing, or just horsing around in the water.

The boat ramp and docks handle small boats and personal watercraft. Acres of manicured sod keep Island Creek Resort looking good and feeling good underfoot. Relax in ICR's community pool or grab the Coppertone and head across the street to Avon's super beachfront. Spring and fall guests sing ICR's praises for board sports, while families regale in this secret spot for summer getaways. Seasoned travelers even head to ICR for their winter holidays. For parents introducing their families to the world of watersports and experts looking to perfect kiting, windsurfing, and kayaking techniques, this is truly a resort for all seasons. THINGS TO KNOW
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking, which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
Please Note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather.

OBX at it's best!

Overall Island Creek in Avon is an excellent location, Island Squall is well-appointed house, clean and comfortable. Beautiful sunsets and great spot for wind and water sports.

Everything needed for the perfect beach vacation

Great location, great home, with many useful amenities. We’d highly recommend. The outdoor shower and house were very important. The TVs and Wifi were all good; nice beds; everything you’d expect. We’d have loved a few more cooking-related things, like salt, spices, coffee filters, but Food Lion is very close and has everything. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, plates, mugs, pots, pans, cutting boards, knives, etc.

Great location and lots of room

We loved sitting on the deck at night watching the sun set. The area was nice and quiet while still being close to great beaches. Beds were comfortable and house had everything we needed. Hot tub was lovely. We would stay again!

OBX - Best spot on Pamlico Sound

Great location - Beautiful sunsets, windsurfing, kite sailing, National Seashore north of you, access to drive on beaches, off shore fishing out of Hatteras, ferry to Ocracoke. House is nicely appointed and well maintained.

Great Water Sports Access

Nice home with most of the amenities of home. Great water access. Brand new hot tub (a lot of the homes have hot tubs that heat water and little else). New stove and refrigerator. House was spotless when we got there. No issues with wifi for those of us that have to 'work' while away.

Wonderful Vacation

This house had a 3.6 rating but we took our chances and glad we did! The views were amazing and we had no issues with the house other than we couldn't get the TV to work in the main bedroom upstairs. I sent a message but never got a reply. I would definitely stay here again!!

Island Squall #4-I

Spent two weeks in April. We loved new furniture in the living room. On the negative side: Kitchen is poorly stocked with glassware, There were no hand/face towels, and towels and bed sheets were not replaced after first week of stay. Phone line was not working and hot tub was leaking, which was fixed during our stay.

Unfortunately, we do not offer any mid-stay cleaning services and recommend guests wash any bedding or towels, with the Washer and Dryer provided in the home, as needed. Really bad condition of the house. Mold and smell in the master bath and other places. No nets in windows. AC is weak on the 1st floor. Overpriced.

Thank you for staying with us, Robert. We are so sorry for the details that were amiss which prevented this from being a perfect stay. We apologize that some of the screens were missing in the windows. In this windy environment occasionally screens blow away. We will alert our team to take inventory and replace any missing screens. Additionally, because this home is so close to the water the natural smell of the sound can permeate the home. We have made our local team aware of your smell of mold in the home and they work diligently to address any issues as necessary. The air conditioning in the home will also be checked to ensure it is working properly. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to another chance to impress you in the future.

Good windsurf house

The house is great for 2 couples. There is an extra bedroom for another guest if you don’t mind sharing a bath. Beds are great. It has a good windsurf launch and lots of space to store gear under the house. The house could use some maintenance. Roof has a hole in it. Did not leak in the house but we didn’t get much rain. Half the light bulbs didn’t work, refrigerator took 3 days to cool down, shower curtain was moldy and torn in downstairs bathroom, ants in kitchen, bathroom drains were really slow to drain. Over all we liked the house and location.

Hi, Barbara! The drains have been unclogged, the fridge has been adjusted, and the home has regular pest control. The light bulbs and shower curtain will be addressed, and an inspection is scheduled for the roof. Thank you!

Cute house was not properly cleaned

Fun house for a girls get away though disappointed to find it had not been cleaned properly. We found piles of dirt/sand that weren't swept up, the trash in the kitchen was full from the previous renters and a used towel in the shower, the downstairs carpet unvaccumed. Being previous cleaners ourselves we cleaned up a bit and went on to enjoy our stay. The top deck was a fun place to hang out and drink morning coffee and the hot tub very nice and relaxing. Unfortunately we couldn't get the fireplace to work and when we contacted the management, never heard back. So a cozy place with poor cleaning!! Hopefully this will improve for future renters.

Dirtiest place I've ever rented.

This was the 3rd time we've rented this exact unit. This year it looked, felt, and smelled like it was barely been cleaned all summer. We arrived before check in time and we waited outside as staff came and left, but as soon as we walked in we noticed it was not clean. Immediately after a cleaner leaves you would usually smell cleaning products, but there was zero smell. Someone who came out of the house left a pile of household items in the driveway. The pile was ugly so we moved it to the trash can area. The floors were not vacuumed. There were pieces of lint and dirt and unidentifiable stuff on all the carpets and the stairs. Plus dead bugs. The kitchen floor had dried food on it. The worst part I scraped up before thinking about taking a photo of it. Both of the shower curtain liners were moldy. The bathroom sinks had dirty scum lining the drains and what appeared to be dried toothpaste. All the seams between tiles and between tiles and walls were black from dirt. The living room carpet had several stains from the kitchen to the sliding door. All in all, this house went downhill significantly in the past 6 months. We were here in April and it didn't look like this. I spoke to Vacasa and sent an email with photos. I was told the local office would respond to me, but no one ever reached out or took care of the problem. It was bad.
