We stayed at Hayden House while traveling w/ another couple, for a visit to DC, and found Hayden House to be an excellent location and experience.Old Towne Alexandria is a lovely area; quaint and historic; not too loud/busy; but also plenty of restaurants and shops to enjoy, and this home was in a great location for all that. Very close to the water/waterfront park; about 3 blocks from King Street (main road for restaurants/shops); 2 coffee shops within 3 blocks or less made for lovely mornings. We walked from the property to the Metro station each day (Metro yellow line is a straight shot and 15-ish minute ride to L'Enfant station on the Mall). That walk is about 1.2 miles and took us 25-30 minutes; a beautiful walk. Obviously you can Uber to the station if preferred.The house itself was clean and well-appointed. Old/historic in all the charming ways; bathrooms updated (kitchen too; though on this trip we did not cook at the property). Comfy beds. Plenty of hot water w/ everyone showering in the mornings.Owner (Amy) was extremely easy to coordinate with.Great spot.

I can't say enough good things about the host and the house. The communication was great from the start, very helpful with questions about the area, etc. The house is very old and cool and fit our family of 5 very well. It's walkable to fun stuff in town, and an easy drive to anything in the District as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house or book for my family again! Thanks so much!
