Summary:
My place is close to restaurants, shops and transportation. The Hawaiian Monarch Hotel is conveniently located near the main strip of Kalakaua Ave and the Hilton Hawaiian Village is 15 minutes away with the Waikiki Beach fronting the Hilton.
Nearby popular places like "Cheeseburgers in Paradise", "7-Eleven", "Tommy Bahamma's" Store and Bar, "Bill's", "Hard Rock Cafe" and many more...!

The Space:
Upgraded Full Kitchen that is fully stocked with cookware and dinnerware.
New Wood Flooring in Master bedroom, Guest bedroom and Living Room area.
New Cushions on the living room sitting area.
Unit is very spacious for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit.

Guest Access:
The Hawaiian Monarch has a 6th Floor Pool Deck with Hot Tub and BBQ Grills and Picnic Tables where you are welcomed guests.

The Lower Lobby has a Fitness Room ($5 Flat Fee for registration and key access).

The Neighborhood:
Cross Streets are Niu Street and Kalakaua Ave and Ala Wai Blvd

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel is about 10-15 minutes away which is on the beach.

Getting Around:
Bus stops nearby (see "TheBus" is our city transit system).

Kalakaua Ave is the strip that runs through Waikiki (approx 2 mile stretch).

Hawaiian Monarch is almost the furthest west end of Waikiki as the resort district. Moments from Hard Rock Cafe, Tommy Bahama's Grill on one side and the Hilton Hawaiian Village on the other end.

Property was as described. Close to shopping and restaurants. It was a bit of a walk to the beach so not sure if it would be better to walk or drive. Definitely check out the restaurant on property, very good!

Overall our stay was good! Beds were comfortable, loved having 2 bathrooms with shower, and a washer and dryer, the entire place was mostly clean. The TV in the living room was broken, the beige couch was fairly dirty, and the blinds needed some new panels but overall everything else was great. I think a couch cover for the couches, fixing the living room TV, and putting new blinds panels is all I would say they need to update. Itā€™s was close to the beach, there was a food truck village just across the street, and lots of shops and food near by. Pool was fun and had easy access. There was a little shop on the lobby floor if you forgot anything (like laundry detergent). Accessing the key cards was simple. We would stay here again.

Booking and communication went smoothly. The condo was clean and well appointed with practically everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The views are excellent and easy walking distance to the beach, city center and Ala Moana mall. Highly recommend this property

Perfect vacation

This penthouse was centrally located in the heart of Waikiki where everything you need is easily accessible. The pool was lovely and the little bakery and sundry store in the lobby very convenient. Views were awesome and and PH was stocked with everything you need for the beach and snorkeling. Would love to come back again! Great VRBO host!

Good value and great views

The owner was pleasant, helpful and available to answer questions. This condo is a bit shop worn but clean and comfortable with a good location. The food trucks across the street were fun and it is walkable to some restaurant and retail areas. Public buses are easily accessible if you donā€™t have a car. Compared to area hotels, this was a good value for two couples!

Location is great. 15 minutes to wikiki beach. Building is dated and hasnt gone through any upgrades or renovations in recent years. The things provided (shampoo, 1 bar of soap, no tissue, etc.) Have a very motel feel. Roku for streaming services was nice for kids.

My family had a wonderful time here. The penthouse was beautiful and the view was breathtaking! The only complaint we had was the long wait for the elevator and sometimes itā€™s so packed that we had to wait for another one and itā€™s another long wait. Other than that, the home was beautiful and we had an fantastic time.

Great location, clean

The check-in process was super simple and easy to follow. The property is older, but it is very clean and comfortable. The views out the widows are beautiful and if there on a Friday night, the fireworks are visible from the dining windows or one of the bedrooms. Plenty of space for 4 adults and there would be space for more adults/children easily with the extra beds. Very happy to have stayed here and if back in Honolulu, we would stay here again. We chose to just utilize TheBus since parking was $35/day. TheBus was easy to use via Google Maps.

Location was great, the pictures in listing accurately depicts furnishings... bit then its all downhill... mold growing on ceilings of bathroom, couches stained and gross, the throw rug in li ing room was so dirty you couldnt see it had a pattern... nothing was supplied we had to go buy our own supplies and clean so we could stay there

Stunning !

The place is a little outdated but thatā€™s most places in Hawaii in my opinion but the view was STUNNING ! any room you go it is breathtaking . Kitchen are fully stocked with anything youā€™ll need , definitely could have used more trash bags especially it was 4 adults but not a big deal lol The location is close to everything town side . Parking is $40 cash only which is normal for Waikiki side . We miss it already and We will definitely be staying here again and definitely recommend!

Very relaxing

The location definitely makes this a good place to stay. The only slight negative, which is more the actual building and not the condo is the elevators are slow and one was not working (you could only use 2 to go to the penthouse suite). The condo had everything we needed and the owners were quick to respond to a leg that was broken on the sofa when we arrived. It is two master suites, but the second room is better suited for a children's room or unrelated travelers. The view was fabulous and you can walk to everything. I wish I had trusted my gut and not booked a rental car. Parking is $40 per day and traffic was so bad, we only drove once while we were there. If we are ever back in Waikiki, we would stay again.
