Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience with us was not as relaxing or enjoyable as you had hoped. We want to clarify that we are a riverfront property with both a private boat ramp and a staircase that provides full access to the river for swimming and water activities. We also offer numerous floating devices, kayaks, and canoes for our guests to enjoy throughout their stay. We were surprised and deeply concerned to hear your comments about the river’s water quality. Most of our guests do choose to swim in the river, and we had not been made aware of any issues. However, we have since learned that there was a storm prior to your arrival that caused excess runoff into the river, which may have temporarily impacted its safety for swimming. We sincerely apologize for not being aware of this sooner and for the inconvenience it caused during your stay. Regarding the water in the cabin, we do use a filtered well system that is safe for showering, handwashing, and laundry use. For drinking and cooking purposes, we provide four 5-gallon Berkeley Springs dispensers—highly rated and placed throughout the home—to ensure guests have access to fresh, clean drinking water at all times. We are truly sorry that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. Guest comfort and satisfaction mean a great deal to us, and we’re continually working to improve.
