Barbara, The cabin does not have mold. The cabin had been closed up for two solid weeks because of the rainy weather the last 14 + days and the air was stagnant because the cabin is in the woods. Even up to the morning of your arrival the cabin was closed because of the rain that morning and rain was forecasted for the late afternoon and evening of your arrival. Upon your arrival, you told me that our cabins would look like nobody was there after your departure. As for the dust, the cabins are dusted and cleaned after each stay. Each time I was back per your request and every time I was back you had something else to complain about. I checked with the other guests and they were having a wonderful time and no concerns whatsoever. The children and adults enjoyed the two different hay rides on two different days and that we took the time to stop and allow for family pictures at the sunflowers and wildflowers and other places they wanted to stop. The children did not want to leave when the stay was over. We even allowed you and all the other guests to stay past checkout time to be as accommodating as possible and to not have to rush around in the morning of your departure. We treated you and all the guests as we would want to be treated. A 3 Star rating for going above and beyond for all your guests was very disappointing. Our cleaning staff, my wife Karen and I were appalled and disgusted at the conditions of all 4 of the cabins, the decks, the furniture not returned, and how the campgrounds were left in after your departure. The campgrounds, cabins and property were not returned in the condition that you found them in. An additional 4 hours of cleaning above our regular cleaning was required to get the cabins, summer kitchen and campgrounds back in shape and up to our standards. The AC in all 3 cabins were left running, the lights and fan was left on in the restroom, soiled bed linens, dirty dishes were left in the sink, large cardboard boxes were left for us to remove and all the food that was left in the 2 refrigerators for us to remove and dispose of was uncalled for. The campgrounds, cabins and property was truly disrespected. As hosts we have never had one issue with any other guests with the condition of our campgrounds, cabins, etc. We are very proud to have all 5 Star Reviews from everyone who has stated at Timber Valley Retreat except from you. Our Vrbo rating of 5 Stars for your stay was based on your statement when you arrived that “Our cabins would look like nobody was there after your departure.” This was on us for not checking our cabins and property before rating your stay.
