Come enjoy family time in Maine at The Waterfall Cottage on LONG POND 2026! We are walking distance to the quaint town of Belgrade Lakes (where the author of the iconic book/movie “On Golden Pond” summered) where you can visit the farmers market or grab some ice cream at Days county store. Our lake is part of a chain of 7 pristine lakes, known for its ideal swimming, boating, canoeing and some if the best fishing in New England. Booking three night minimums during non peak months (May, June & Sept, Oct) and weekly rentals in July, August-Monday to Monday.

Our cottage sits next to literally a waterfall that spills out into the lake and is the best fishing spot. We are also only STEPS away from the quaint Village of Belgrade Lakes, so roll out of bed to grab that cup of coffee & paper at the famed “Days Country store”, or walk to the farmers markets on Sunday’s, or a nice stroll to shop or dine at some of our local Maine made shops and restaurants. Belgrade is also home to award wining 5 star golf course, and many hiking and walking trails along the many mountains with in a few miles from cottage.

Our lake home is conveniently located 15 miles from our state capital of Augusta, and 15 miles to Waterville- home of Colby college. Both have all your conveniences that larger cities have (movie theaters, dining, museums, big block stores). The coast of Maine is 50 miles away, great for a day trip to our beaches, whale watching in Rockland, shopping the outlets in Freeport, or flying in and out one of the countries most picturesque cities Of Portland Maine.

About our home: The Waterfall Cottage is our home away from home that has been creating wonderful memories for our our family and our renters for over 20 years. With 2 downstairs bedrooms and 2 spacious sleep lofts, it’s the perfect camp for families or friends who want to experience all Maine has to offer. Whether its gathering at the waterfront to roast marshmallows in the stone fireplace, fishing off the waterfall (the best fishing spot on lake) or taking in the incredible sunsets while sitting in our Adirondack chairs, or falling asleep under the brightest stars listening to the sounds of the loons, there is a little something for everyone.

Our cottage is located at “The Village Camps”, a PRIVATE waterfront community with 6 privately owned cottages established in 1940s and once owned by the Wrigley’s of Wrigley field. Each of the 7 cottages have their own land & private dock. We share 350 feet of additional water frontage on an acre of land including a communal boat slip/ for additional boats, unlimited wood in the wood shed, trash removal service, maintenance of lawns.

Our waterfront has a large Dock with stairs that lead down into sandy shallow bottom with about 3 1/2 to 4 feet of water (when water is high) which is great for kids. We have kayaks and canoes and space to tie up your own boat ( up to 18 feet) or tie up bigger boats to our mooring.

RESERVATIONS: Rental weeks typically rent Monday-Monday in peak season (July-Sept). Three day weekends avail May, June and Oct. Reservations are taken on first come first serve and held with a 50% deposit of the weekly rental. Please see my rates and calendar availability.

CHECK-IN: Check in anytime after 2 pm and CHECK-OUT 10:30 am sharp!! Looking for quiet families who will treat home like their own. Since there is only one full bath, we feel it’s best suited for 6 people, however the home will sleep eight people with 2 bedrooms downstairs and 2 additional LOFT space upstairs on each of side of house so their is some privacy.

RENTAL AGREEMENT:
*$250 SECURITY DEPOSIT, PLUS 50% OF BALANCE DUE WITH IN 7 BUSINESS DAYS OF EMAILED CONFIRMATION. BALANCE DUE 60 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL (unless otherwise noted). ANY CANCELLATIONS WILL BE REFUNDED ALL MONIES ONLY IF WE CAN RE-RENT YOUR WEEK. (Per case basis)

Ideal for families or couples. Pets welcomed with a $125 fee for first pet and $25 for additional for week. $200 CLEANING FEE is for TURNSROUND FEE and INCLUSIVE OF LINEN and TOWELS as well. NEW summer 2023 fee: $75 pumping fee (for holding tank). Because of how close we are to water, we have a holding tank that gets pumped bi weekly.the cost of pumping tank has doubled in the last two years ($300 every 2/3 weeks).the additional $75 per week fee will go towards that fee we take on when take gets pumped.
