This delightful, two-story, four-bedroom home offers ideal indoor and outdoor spaces for the perfect family vacation on St. Simons Island! The ground-floor great room boasts a well-equipped, full kitchen with a breakfast bar, an adjacent dining area with a table for six for meals or family game nights, and an open living area with high ceilings, stylish furnishings, and a wall-mounted flatscreen TV. Make your way outside to watch the world go by from your furnished front porch or head out back to the yard complete with a gas grill and table and chairs for summertime cookouts and a bocce ball court. For sleeping options, this home offers four cozy bedrooms including a lower-level suite as well as a kid-friendly bunk room and a main bedroom with a bed and en suite bath on the second floor.

Family get away

This house was definitely beautiful! We had a very comfortable stay! My parents were able to stay downstairs in the bedroom and everyone else was able to stay upstairs! It was quiet and a very nice area! There were some bugs but bugs move in when nobody is there so that wasn’t alarming. Definitely would go back!

Wonderful

We stayed here for cheer competition nationals and the house was very clean and in a great neighborhood! The check in and check out process what so simple!

Wonderful accommodations, Great location

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and do their own thing. Amazing for pets - everything you need (except for food and treats). They thought of everything you would need right down to everything for babies (which we did not have). Wish it were a little closer to the beach, but fantastic just the same. Thank you for an amazing vacation full of wonderful memories!

Technical difficulties

I enjoyed my stay, but I was unable to watch tv in the family area. The tv was not working properly. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Very comfortable home, especially for dogs, kids.

Overall an excellent stay. House, especially floors could have been cleaner. Had to hunt for bath towels, none in master but plenty in other bathroom as there were only 2 of us. Would have been an issue with 6 people. Owners are apparently updating house in bits. Hall and guest bath are very nice as are all the bedrooms. Nicely furnished. Was underwhelmed with Vacasa, dont think I would go through them again.

Quiet neighborhood location

Very dirty sticky floors. Carpet due for replacement. Chipped paint on kitchen cabinets, dirt and crumbs inside drawers. Nice new dishwasher but not attached to countertop and falls out while loading. Strong smell of cleaning solution or deodorizer but able to air out. Comfy beds and furniture. Needs dish soap in kitchen.

Great property; property management not so much

A wonderful home in a quiet, walkable neighborhood. The neighbors were friendly and the whole of SSI is very pet friendly. The house was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the back yard is fenced, and the kitchen is well stocked. You will need to bring your own laundry detergent if you plan to use the washing machine. Just FYI. It is a short 10 minute drive to East Beach which is pet friendly and there is also a WWII museum there that was excellent (not pet friendly but a good rainy day activity). Also, I highly recommend the restaurant La Plancha that you can walk to. We had issues with the internet and Vacasa was not helpful. Other than that, the house was great and I would recommend staying here especially if you have a pet with you.

Disappointment

The two things offerred for family activities were not available. We notified the owners and they refused to fix. The washing machine was broken and we notified them on day 2 and they didn't fix this as well. We are a family of 9 at the beach so this was a huge nuisance to not be able to wash laundry. One of the main reasons we rented this hois3.

Great house, poor cleanliness

First the good - the house is nice, in a good location, plenty of space, and was perfectly set up for our needs (3 couples, 2 kids). Great neighborhood, quiet, room to go for morning runs, great seating outside. Now the bad - cleanliness was poor. The sheets on one of the beds were dirty with sand, hair, and crumbs in it when my 11 year-old child climbed into bed. Another bed had a dirty diaper underneath. There also was no gas in the propane tank for the outside firepit or for the gas grill. Finally, all the outside trash cans were full when we arrived, making it hard to throw away trash during the week (luckily the trash was picked up the morning of our departure). After our stay I reached out to the property management team about our experience to allow them to respond before I left a review. However, it has been over a month and we have not heard anything back after the folks at the rental site said they asked the local property managers to reach out to us. Final verdict - great house, poor cleanliness, no communication.

Very dirty, no A/C, horrible staff

First this is not technically a VRBO rental with a local homeowner. It’s a bait & switch to another company called vacasa who is horrible. Bad communication. Even when I tried to message VRBO for help thru website, I still got answered by vacasa.. so VRBO was NO help. Shocked this place had 9 stars. Very dirty. Very old carpet I can tell hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Trash under bed. Every dish in cabinets was dirty. Make sure you wash them first. A/C was broken for half of our trip. Vendor said it’s extremely old and pretty much not going to / needs replaced. A 40-50lb shower door fell off the hinges on my 7 year old & I got a bruise climbing in the shower & holding it up to get her out. She was terrified. Vendor said this shower was extremely dangerous and we shouldn’t use it. Other “working” shower wouldn’t drain. With 8 people. It took them 2 days to come fix shower and AC issues. They required me to document everything and be on the phone with them and vendors and send picture after picture while I was on my vacation, rather than actually having a local property manager to come handle it so I could go enjoy the beach. Lots of leaks and water spots so if you’re mold sensitive I’d say don’t stay here. They did give me a minuscule bit of refund offer not even close to what I should have been compensated for considering it was 83 degrees and 81% humidity in the home for 50% of our trip. The only good thing was the neighborhood and the proximity on the island.
