Welcome! We are Damon and Mark Rogers, the grateful custodians of Damon's family home where we retired in 2000 after 30 years of Navy life. Mark is a retired Naval Officer, and we have been very fortunate to have lived and travelled all over the world.

The family home was built in 1919 and Generals Retreat (VRBO #496793) and Captains Quarters, two of our rental properties located behind the Big House, were originally built in 1970 as a guest home and office suite.

Much of the surroundings you'll see when staying at one of our vacation rentals in Franklin have been gradually collected during our Navy years and represent our strong Southern heritage and love of antiques.

Originally built as an office suite behind the original 1919 historic family home, you will be amazed at the beautiful conversion from a spacious office suite into an elegant studio apartment. This 800 square foot apartment boasts "brand new everything" with the exception of the family antiques and collected prints throughout.

The original office has become the elegantly-appointed living room, and the king size bed and kitchen nook are just two of many reasons to stay at Captains Quarters. The original powder room has become a fully stocked galley kitchen with microwave, doll-sized oven and stove (so precious!), 18 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer, toaster, Keurig coffee maker and Mr Coffee drip pot, Italian dishes and serving pieces, and plenty of pots, pans, pyrex and cooking utensils to cook the day away.

In what was once the adjoining storage room has now become a fully-tiled bathroom with tub/shower combination and houses a spacious walk in closet and separate laundry room!

The outside welcomes you with a sweet front porch with 2 rockers, window boxes, and seasonal plants contained in wrought iron planters passed down for generations. Walk around to the side yard and enjoy badminton, corn hole or the fire pit with ample wood supplied. Relax in the common patio area or cook on the outdoor gas grill located on the outside patio.

This elegant studio is such a must see piece of real estate in charming Franklin, TN that we often joke about wanting to move in ourselves!

I (Damon) pride myself on being a preservationist and believe in repurposing from old buildings. Shutters throughout the studio came from the basement of my family home, and the Civil War era window grills were bought from a friend after a historic home was demolished.
