The Nohl by Lake Effect Club
✨ The Nohl by Lake Effect Club: Artistic 1BR in Milwaukee’s Lower East Side (steps from Brady Street)
Welcome to The Nohl, a color-forward, design-led 1BR tucked into Milwaukee’s Lower East Side, just off Brady Street and an easy stroll to the lakefront. This is a stay for people who like their spaces bold, thoughtful, and a little unexpected.
About Lake Effect Club 🏛️
Lake Effect Club is Milwaukee’s most creative stay: a 150+ year-old building reimagined with fearless color, designer vintage finds, and modern comforts. Located in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, it’s proof Milwaukee is every bit as cool as the lake it sits beside.
👩🎨 About the Owners
Lake Effect Club started as a dream between three friends, two from Milwaukee, one who married in, who share a love of design, storytelling, and this city.
We’re an architectural/interior designer, a director/producer, and a former fashion designer turned all-around creative. During the pandemic we kept imagining the types of places we’d want to book: colorful, intentional, character-rich, and deeply comfortable.
A few years later, we found the right building, a 150+ year-old property, and brought it back to life with a thoughtful update, mixing designer finds, local touches, new pieces, and a whole lot of love.
We truly think Milwaukee is the greatest city on earth. This is our way of sharing it. 💛
The Nohl: Space & Vibe 🎨
The Nohl is a compact, clever space with strong personality and great function. You’ll find color-blocked rooms throughout:
A long petal-pink living/dining/kitchen zone
A striking blue bathroom that feels like a jewel box
A cozy lavender bedroom that makes sleep feel cooler
There’s a small dining table, a porch big enough to lounge, and a walk-in closet that doubles as a mini office. The bathroom features a cast iron tub for soaking, and the whole space is layered with vintage treasures, designer pieces, and refreshed essentials (bed, mattress, couch).
It’s named after Mary Nohl, an artist and iconic Milwaukean whose creative, one-of-a-kind home is now a museum farther north along the Lakefront.
