Two Bedrooms, two bath, bright, open, furnished home with Santa Fe style and comfort. (House is 3 Bedroom 1800 sq ft, but owner lockout of smallest bedroom making it a 2 bedroom 1650 sq ft. Lockout room Not Available)

El Dorado is 25 square miles of high desert beauty, Each house is on approximately 1.5 acres. We're a mile to the main road 285 which makes an easy 15-20 minute drive to Santa Fe. Away from the bustle, El Dorado is where the stargazing ramps up to another level.

You'll find lots of world class restaurants in Santa Fe, but we have a few local favorites that are not on the usual tourist list: The Chocolate Maven, Tune-Up Cafe & Cafe Fina.

Eldorado has 10,000 acres. Greenbelt areas for walking, running and biking, with nearby hiking trails. Shopping, cafe, grocery, and restaurants are less than a mile away.

Wonderful stay at a spectacular location

The house was great, plenty roomy with split bedroom/baths so everyone had privacy. House was beautiful with incredible sunsets and bright starry nights. We loved it!

El Dorado

Great house, great location. We’ve stayed at quite a few VRBO houses and this by far is one of the best. The location is a short drive to Santa Fe. There are plenty of places nearby to dine, shop, etc. Great neighborhood.

Nice, clean house just close enough to enjoy Santa Fe but far enough for the relaxing peace + quiet.

The house was all set for us when we arrived. Directions were easy enough. We liked the layout of the house and the back porch. Yes, we would stay here again.

An excellent host

We have stayed at this lovely house before but this time we experienced some trouble with the heating that forced us to move. Bill was responsive and sympathetic, and really worked with us to come to a resolution. Minor adversity brought out the best in his hosting skills. We’ll come back!

Lovely home but we ran into some problems.

We stayed here the summer of 2021 and had a lovely time. This time we were surprised to find the second bedroom locked despite the fact that the home was advertised as a two bedroom home and that is what we paid for. We also had problems with the heat which never got fully resolved. We were also surprised that this time there were two vehicles in the garage which made it difficult to navigate to the recycling and we could not use the grill.

A spectacular rental property

You will not be disappointed when you rent the home at 8 Avila in Eldorado. The property is beautiful. The home itself is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has every cooking tool you would require. There are plenty of towels to use and the beds are nice and comfortable. There is a supermaket just down the street, so you will not have to travel far to buy groceries. The location of the house is only avbout 8 miles out of the Santa Fe Square. Eldorado is quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of the city. The views of the sunsets at night along with the stars are amazing. Its location is also near Rt. 25, os getting to other destinations is easy, just hop on the highway. If you run into any problems with the house, Bill is quick to come to your rescue. A smoke alarm went off while we were there. Bill had the battery replaced in no time.

Lovely home and convenient location

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is located is a quiet neighborhood and it’s easy to drive into Santa Fe. The kitchen is particularly well supplied which was very helpful since we stayed for a full month. We had excellent communication with the owner.

Perfect in every way!

My husband and I stayed here for a week. It is the perfect location for anyone wanting to spend time in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. We were surprised by how quiet it was where the house is located. We actually never heard anything while we were in the house. It was awesome. The house is spotless and has anything one may need. The master bedroom and bath were incredible. The bed was so comfortable and the master closet is huge!! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals when we chose to eat at the house and there is a nice little neighborhood supermarket very close to the house. Bill was very easy to get in touch with and check in was a breeze. If we are ever back out in the area, we will definitely stay here again.

Amazing Stay!!

Beautiful, clean, charming and convenient house in a wonderful peaceful location! Close to shops and restaurants! Beautiful sunset view from the outdoor patio. Bill was great and fast in answering all our questions. Loved the attention to details and all his recommendations. Would love to come back next year!

Great place outside of Santa Fe

The property is beautiful and clean. We had everything we needed while staying. The owner answered our questions quickly. It is a few minutes outside of Santa Fe, but that is what we wanted. We were wanting to do outdoor activities and cook. Great stay.

Perfect Vacation!

It felt like home, the house was beautiful, there was nothing we needed, the setting was picturesque! Bill gave us very useful information. We took a Balloon ride, got plenty of our favorite, Mexican Food, and other great food! The art was incredible! We saw Meow Wolf, and got into Georgia O'Keef's home. Thank you for helping make our stay perfect Bill! If 8 Avila is available when we come out there again we will be back!

Awesome and relaxing environment.

We have used VRBO many times, both in the US, and in Europe. To quote my finance, "I have never taken as many pictures of a place we stayed, as the property in Santa Fe." Gave the location four stars because it is a somewhat of a drive (about 20 minutes) to most venues in Santa Fe. For us, the drive was not an issue. In fact, being a little isolated was one of the appealing features of the property for us, but everyone may not see it the same way. The house had everything one could need for a "home away from home." A first for us was fire extinguishers and a first aid kit, the later of which came in handy when we need an aspirin. We hope to return next year to Santa Fe, and would not even consider another property unless this home was rented for the time we wanted to be there.

Girls trip

The house was great, we were not there much, but when we were, we enjoyed the house. The hot water was great, never ran out. Each having our own bedrooms was wonderful. It is a little far out of town, but close enough to the highway to get anywhere quickly. If you go, take a hot air balloon ride with Johnny Lewis, it was wonderful, he is a great pilot. Thanks Bill for sharing your house.

Everything we needed and hoped for

Spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. pleanty of linen and all kitchen itensils provided and also sharp knives, wich were a welcome difference. Wonderful to be rural yet so close to Santa Fe. We heard coyotes at night, went for lovely walks in the cool mornings and used the local community swimming pool often. Great communication with Bill. Would recommend highly.

Very comfortable, quiet, great for families

This was our third time staying here and it was still great! The house amenities and floor plan are great for families. Having two walled in yards was good for the kids to run around.

Nice home in quiet community outside Santa Fe.

I would like to start by saying this is a nice 3br home with easy access to nearby attractions. The beds are very comfortable and all the furnishings are nice... We stayed for a week in June with 4 adults and our 21 mos old son. There was a community recreation area nearby with a nice playground and pool which our son enjoyed. Bill was a a available immediately by phone when we called and very graciously worked with the community center to get us guest pool passes( thank you !). We did encounter a broken toilet seat upon arriving and this was reported and immediately addressed and replaced........ as for suggestions and things to consider...... one does need to take in to consideration that there is no cooling system and while there are fans in each bedroom there is no fan in the main family and kitchen area and it was quite hot during our stay. Even with keeping the windows and doors open during the cool hours and keeping them closed and the curtains drawn during the day the temperature in the main part of the house was in the 80's ... the master bedroom would not cool down below 80 until well into the early morning hours. It would have been nice to have had a box fan for the living area , particularly because we had a couple of nights when there was no breeze. We have stayed in El Dorado before but there was always a swamp cooler which makes a huge difference. As for my other concerns, because we did have to have the screened sliding doors open so much we did encounter many spiders... also there is no garbage disposal and a limited supply of kitchen garage bags .. I would also make a suggestion of having more toilet paper.... we had 4 rolls for 5 people for a week. And the master bath only had one washcloth.... plenty of towels but only 5 washcloths total for 5 people for a week and only 2 dish towels and 2 dishcloths which made for more frequent laundry. The kitchen was well stocked except for limited storage containers for left overs and only 2 ice trays for a fridge that does not have ice maker. Overall would stay again but not in summer months.

Comfortable, Quiet Home just outside of Santa Fe

We had a great stay! The house was clean, comfortable and attractively decorated. Pride of ownership was evident throughout. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to make many meals at home. Santa Fe is about 15 minutes and offered a ton of restaurants. Restaurants near the home are limited and it's about a 15 min drive to a larger grocery store. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you Bill!

We love all the options to enjoy the outdoors that Santa Fe has to offer.Santa Fe offers a lot of unique dining options that are not available even in the foodie rich San Francisco Bay Area.

We spent two years looking for properties in El Dorado. Every property seemed to have a problem. Usually is came down the the floor plan or the quality of construction. We missed out on one property with an amazing view next to the greenbelt, but we did well. The house was a former model, and it fit us to a tee. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
