The Main Lodge (Sleeps 12)

The 3,533 sq. ft. lodge features 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with plenty of space for everyone to gather and relax. The lodge blends rustic Texas style with modern comforts and inviting gathering areas.

The Bunkhouse (Sleeps 6)

Just a short walk from the lodge, the charming ranch-style bunkhouse provides additional space for larger groups. Filled with beautiful antiques and classic Texas décor, it offers a cozy and comfortable stay.

Simply the Best!We hosted our daughter’s wedding at True Grit Ranch, and I can honestly say—it was the best place ever. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless. The support from the hosts was incredible: responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making our experience perfect.The amenities were all there and beautifully maintained. We didn’t need a single thing—every detail had been considered, from cozy accommodations to the stunning outdoor spaces that made the event feel magical. We had zero issues, which is saying a lot for a multi-day celebration with lots of moving parts!This place is more than just a venue—it’s a sanctuary of peace, beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. Bonding galore

We used this amazing house for our high school volleyball team and it did not disappoint! The pond on the property was a huge hit and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house is close to town but also far enough away to feel secluded and be able to focus on our team bonding time. Dawson was great, his response time to help us was much appreciated. Love this house!!

Wonderful and relaxing venue

We absolutely loved this place! We rented it to host a small, intamate wedding of about 50 people for my daughter's wedding over Memorial Day weekend (Fri-Mon). About 15 people slept on property. Our age group for those who staed on property was 2-63 and enveryone enjoyed themselves! There was fishing and kayaking. The men did shooting and we brought kites and outside games for the kids to enjoy. We enjoyed the geese, rabbits and watching the deer. The kitchen and bathrooms had every pot, pan container or towel you needed. We had absolutley no complaint. Everyone was so helpful in seeing the property and when we arrived and left. We will definitely tell people about this rental and even book again!

Beautiful views, so much to do, all we needed

We stayed here for a Thanksgiving retreat with family from around Texas. With so many options of games (ping-pong, washers, shuffleboard, and a pool table) our teens had a ton to do. We even caught a few bass in the lake and brought a basketball to make use of the court near the house. The fire pit was a perfect opportunity to spend time together in the evening roasting smores and visiting. Our bedrooms were very comfortable with plenty of room to spare. We had plenty of plates, silverware and cooking items to be able to make and enjoy all of our meals. And the table in the main house was enormous - we had a group of 9 and had many extra chairs. Thank you so much for checking in on us to make sure we had everything - it was a very special time away!

True Grit Ranch from Northeasterners

We were looking for a place that would sleep 18-20 people, remote enough to alleviate any noise complaints, and provide a place where we could do all our weekend's planned events and competitions. True Grit was that place and more. We coordinated airport arrivals and departures to reduce to expense uber would have costed to get to True Grit. Once there, it was perfect. Well kept, clean, plenty of space. The patio worked for many things, as did the screened in porch. Separate house was great as Well. Everyone raved about the place and our hosts. The cows were close but it wasn't an issue for us as we were up late and up early. Happy we found True Grit. We hope to look into this again next year.

Rehearsal Dinner

True Grit Ranch was a magical place for our son's rehearsal dinner. The surroundings are beautiful!! Our family and the groomsmen also stayed there for the whole weekend. It was a perfect place to gather.

The house and property were beautiful. We got married on the ranch it was beautiful. My wife and I couldn’t of imagined a better place. Also Chuck the ranch manager was a first class guy very nice and helpful. 10 out of 10 recommend

Great time on a huge ranch

The ranch manager Chuck was fantastic. Friendly and helpful. The pond was loads of fun and we all enjoyed the ranch tours. Highly recommend.

Fantastic family reunion!

True Grit Ranch was truly a great experience for our 2022 family reunion. All of our family members had a wonderful time with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy out time together. Plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms for several family members to stay over. The kitchen had everything we needed for a larger event which was really nice and the large wrap around porch was one of my personal favorites spots! TGR also has a large lake that the kids were able to go fishing when it cooled off. The ranch manager on site was also helpful when needed. Would definitely book this place again, it’s perfect peaceful spot to let loose and only 10 minutes from town.

Absolutely Stunning!

We celebrated two adul birthdays and took the children to the Grandsbury dinosaur museums. Had planned on touring wineries but in all transparency, the venue was so amazing, we struggled to leave the property! From booking to checkout, easy peasy and fun. Skeet shooting was a blast. Ages 1.5-79 and we all had fun! From sleep to meal accommodations, to leisure just hanging together, an amazing and comfortable venue! Never felt crowded. Kimberly and Chuck are outstanding hosts. No disappointments!

Fantastic Space AND Hosts!

We rented True Grit Ranch for a company retreat with about 45 guests in attendance. Some of our team was able to stay on site at the ranch and that was super convenient! The space was clean, perfect for entertaining a larger number of guests, very well appointed with everything a group would need, and the hosts were more than accommodating to our requests. The Ranch Manager was so kind - he was there to welcome us and keeps the grounds immaculate. We couldn't have imagined a better space for our retreat and our group!

Ranch Getaway

This ranch is a fantastic getaway with a very quiet setting surrounded by beautiful land, water and animals. The furnishings in this house are very comfortable (big house and bunk house). Game room is fantastic and our adults and teens enjoyed it. All amenities we felt were of good quality. Lots of sleeping space with comfortable beds. Ranch hand is very friendly and is easily available if you need anything. We look forward to returning.

Family Vacation/Reunion

Very adequate and secluded place for our family of 12 adults and 8 grandchildren to spend a meaningful weekend together enjoying being with one another, reflecting on our past and grateful for the present and what lies ahead. Swimming and kayaking in the lake on Saturday was a big hit. Chuck and Beverly are very gracious hosts. You will appreciate their brand of hospitality.

A Family get Together

We had a great time. Skeet shooting, fishing, plenty of room to spread out, it was all what we expected. There were 5 bedrooms with queen beds for all the adult families and 2 bedrooms for the little ones. A big dinner table so all could eat at one time. Plenty of other amenities. What a weekend!!

Rehearsal Dinner-Groomsmen and Family

Perfect Wedding Venue

Grounds are beautifully maintained. The house is large and offers games like pool, ping pong, shuffle board etc. Plenty of stuff for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Chuck was an absolute breath of fresh air to work with, he made sure everything was perfect for us, and went out of his way to accommodate special requests We are looking at our calendars already for our next family gathering and we only just left this morning!!

Terrific Christmas lodging

We stayed here with some family to celebrate Christmas with my elderly father. We loved that it is all one story with flooring easy for the walker. (Had to move a couple rugs in the bedroom for him, but minor) Family room was spacious and perfect for gathering. And everyone fit in the generous dining room with lovely dishes for our meals! We loved having the shuffleboard, pool, and ping pong for the teens to be entertained, and he could watch! The men and teens also really enjoyed the clay shooting. We never had a need to leave the property! Beds are a bit high for elderly family (or anyone really), but the mattresses were comfortable. Would stay here again.

Incredible experience

We just returned from True Grit Ranch and had an incredible experience. From the beginning to the end, it was a wonderful time for our entire family! The property had plenty to do for ages 4-66 years and we are grateful for the accommodations and experience!

Perfect Family and Friends Escape

This place was just what we needed as we all had been on edge with COVID house arrest and were ready to enjoy some time together with plenty of space to social distance and unwind. Lots of amenities and scenic views for walks around the property with cattle, sheep and even an emu. Great fire pit to enjoy at night and lots of family games from pool, to ping pong to shuffle board. All 13 of us loved it!

The private lake offers opportunities for fishing, relaxing by the water, and spending unhurried time outdoors. The expansive acreage allows guests to explore the ranch, bring their own ATVs, and fully experience the landscape at their own pace. Evenings can be spent gathered around the large outdoor fire pit under the Texas sky, creating a laid-back and memorable ranch atmosphere.

For those looking to elevate their experience, several add-ons are available. Guests can rent one- or two-person kayaks and paddleboards to enjoy time on the lake. Skeet shooting rentals are offered, complete with electric throwers, allowing groups to enjoy a classic ranch sporting activity. Seasonal dove and duck hunts can also be added to any overnight package for an additional fee, providing a true Texas hunting experience. Horse stall rentals are available for guests bringing their own horses, and the 50' x 80' event barn can be reserved for larger gatherings, celebrations, or expanded activity space.

Together, these activities and customizable add-ons allow guests to shape their stay into either a peaceful retreat or an action-filled ranch adventure.
