Our “Ferienhof Deichblick” is situated in a very quiet location on the edge of a small village cluster of houses and farms in the vast, fresh Frisian marshlands, surrounded by lush meadows and fields, right on the thoroughfare through the “Schlafdeich,” on the edge of the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 2009.
A short distance north of the “Schlafdeich” lies the outer dike, and beyond it, the sea. The “Schlafdeich” is the old dike that, following land reclamation over the past few centuries, is now situated some distance inland and no longer serves a direct coastal protection function. That is why it is also called the “Schlafdeich”—because it has, so to speak, found its rest.
Here at “Ferienhof Deichblick,” four beautiful, cozy, and warmly furnished, fully equipped vacation apartments await our guests and their children. The apartments measure approximately 65 and 60 square meters and offer plenty of space for 2 to 5 people or 2 to 4 people.
In the beautiful, sunny garden and on the open grounds of our “Ferienhof Deichblick,” you can enjoy the incredible peace and quiet and the wonderfully fresh East Frisian air.
, Once you’ve managed to tear yourself and the kids away from our farm and the magnificent expanse of fields and meadows, be sure to visit the lovely North Sea resort of Carolinensiel-Harlesiel nearby.
The North Sea resort of Carolinensiel-Harlesiel offers a wide range of vacation activities for children and parents. First, there’s the old harbor in Carolinensiel. Today, this historic harbor is home to a museum harbor featuring traditional Frisian flat-bottomed sailing ships. Take a stroll or stop by one of the lovely restaurants to watch the lively hustle and bustle around the harbor!
You’ll enjoy the view of the old ships, the harbor promenade with its cafés, tea rooms, and restaurants, as well as the paddle steamer “Concordia II,” a replica of the old “Concordia I” from 1854. This paddle steamer operates a shuttle service on the Harle River, taking you from the museum harbor past the “Haus des Gastes,” through the Friedrichsschleuse lock, and on to the marina in Harlesiel on the North Sea.
There’s also the “Haus des Gastes,” which offers a wide range of entertainment and relaxation options. For example, parents can read in peace while their children are looked after by experienced staff. Of course, the whole family loves going to the beautiful beach here, but you can also go swimming at the “Cliner Quelle” saltwater recreation pool (featuring a wading pool, tanning beds, a beauty and wellness area, and the popular “Moonlight Swim” once a week). Or, in the summer, you can visit the heated seawater outdoor pool in Harlesiel. For children, growing teens, and really the whole family, there’s the “Happy Family Club” with programs and plenty of ideas. A vacation in Carolinensiel always offers plenty of opportunities for sports and games, entertainment, and relaxation.
Carolinensiel-Harlesiel is located in the middle of the East Frisian North Sea coast, on the mainland across from the island of Wangerooge.
A day trip to one of the East Frisian islands is always a special recommendation—from here, the best option is to head from Harlesiel to Wangerooge with its beautiful lighthouse. Or why not take off from the Carolinensiel-Harlesiel airfield for a sightseeing flight over the dikes, the North Sea, and the islands: an unforgettable experience awaits you!
Neu-Augustengroden is part of the Wangerland joint municipality, which has plenty to offer tourists. Right in our immediate vicinity, there are a whole host of excellent seafood restaurants and many other tourist attractions.
