De Kuifmees (Crested Tit) is a roomy thatched bungalow (sleeps four), located in one of the most attractive areas of the Buitenplaats on a generous plot of land (roughly 600m) in quiet woodland and with a free view over open fields. It has an open eating area and a covered heated terrace with nice loungers for the cooler days. It is set in a mature garden that enjoys the sun throughout the premises on a nice day. The house is largely equipped with fly screens.

Comfortably furnished in a modern style, the house would be ideal for a ‘retreat’ for short and longer stays. Highly recommended for cycling, walking and nature enthusiasts, being situated on the edge of the Veluwe National Park. It would be an excellent place as well to play bridge on a rainy day or finish a study, write a paper, write a book or poems whilst enjoying the nature around you. There is no traffic noise at all. You will exclusively find birds, butterflies, insects and interesting wild plants.

Within driving/cycling distance, there are the Kröller-Muller Museum with its fabulous Van Gogh collection in nearby Otterlo, Kasteel (a stately home) Staverden with its very pleasant luncheon and dining facilities, the Arboretum/Pinetum Schovenhorst, the former Palace ‘t Loo of the Dutch queen Wilhelmina (near Apeldoorn) with its formal XVIIIth Century gardens and carriages museum, and the fascinating Nationaal Tegelmuseum (National Tiles Museum with its large Delft Blue collection), also in Otterlo. Many further attractions nearby and further afield, including the very popular ‘Klimbos’ (Climbing area with ropes and zip wires for the younger visitors) and outdoor pool in nearby Garderen. There are excellent zoos in Amersfoort und Rhenen and the monkey world Apenheul near Apeldoorn. Documentation is made available in the bungalow upon arrival.

Many good eating out opportunities locally and further afield. Nearby Harderwijk in particular has many fine restaurants, some even with a Michelin star. Garderen and Putten also have excellent and accessible supermarkets with ample parking facilities.
The house has a separate group with 230V for charging your electric car. Please note that this is not a fast charging station. Charging your car battery via this pole may take a little longer. There is a fast charging post in the car park outside the park barrier.
