Architect Designed, Waterfront, One Bedroom Cabin Suite

This beautiful, one bedroom plus, cabin suite on the water has everything a couple could want in a newly built comfortable getaway. This charming home has a wood burning fireplace, built in sound system, flat screen TV, granite counter tops and Old Hickory Club furniture. It is air conditioned and has in floor heat for year around comfort. It also is designed with additional in wall sleeping (Murphy bed) accommodations for the occasional guest. The great room with 12 foot tall ceilings is enhanced by professionally decorated interiors with a bold use of timber posts, beams, color and antlers.

This pet free home has a fully equipped custom kitchen with stainless steel appliances, full sized laundry facilities and dishwasher. Spans of waterfront glass and a large sun deck insure great views from every room. It is also located only seven minutes from the club house of the spectacular Deacon’s Lodge Golf Course in the Brainerd Lakes Area. It is difficult to say what is more captivating, the lake views from the house with a pair of nesting swans or the high end interiors that make the house so inviting. Outside you will enjoy a panoramic view of Shaffer Lake from a large deck perched atop a wooded hill. The lake is designated a natural environment lake meaning that the shore
Around it cannot be developed into beach. It must remain wild to provide habitat for area’s abundant wild life.

A five minute drive from this home will take you to some of the finest beaches in Minnesota, on Pelican, Whitefish and Gull lakes. With binoculars, you can peer across Shaffer Lake to see the activity on the second hole of Deacon’s, proclaimed to be Arnold Palmer’s finest design and Minnesota’s number one public golf course by “Golf Week Magazine”. You will also save money when you purchase a seasonal membership at Deacon’s.

It is interesting to note that prior to its listing on VRBO, this home was managed and marketed by Grandview Lodge who managed Deacon’s Lodge Golf Course. Grandview rented this home as a one bedroom cabin suite.

Most hotels offer 250 square foot rooms. This home provides 1,000 square feet of comfort!

It was perfect for a much needed "sister getaway" weekend. Host did a good job of keeping us informed of policies and procedures and was in contact when needed. The deck overlooking the lake was awesome. Heard the loons every morning and watched the swans every day. The hide-a-bed had a super comfortable mattress. We were hoping to make a fire in the fire pit outside and/or the fireplace inside but never did - just ran out of time. Would love to come again and stay at least one more full day! Maybe this will be our annual sister weekend getaway ...

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Pequot Lakes cabin. It was clean, quaint, charming, and well maintained with a lovely view. We struggled a bit with the VRBO app.

Cozy Retreat

We had our 25th Anniversary at this cozy cabin. Wonderful view cabin was very nice inside. Enjoyed the loons and Swans with their babies. Wonderful getaway! would love to visit in the fall!

Relaxing Weekend

Staying at this Cabin was truly a wonderful and restful experience. The location was great. Lots of great dining options available nearby if one doesn’t want to go thru the hassle of meal prep! Will definitely be back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace and tranquility!

weekend getaway

This cabin was a great choice for my daughter and I. We were there on a very hot long weekend but the A/C kept us cool when we weren't enjoying the deck and the lake view. The kitchen was great but a little sparse on utensils but adequate for our needs. We chose to use the murphy bed as well as the main bedroom for separate sleeping spaces and the murphy bed was very comfortable and easy to use. We had a little issue with the lock situation but the manager we called was very accessible and helped us with this minor glitch. I would definitely rent this space again. .

Wonderful cabin!!

I can not say enough about this darling cabin. It is very private, so comfortable and close to everything! It is located on a smaller lake, no boats and a beautiful pair of Swans! The Loons were wonderful in the evening. Great communication with the host!! Will be back for sure!

Lovely spot

The only complaint I would have, is that there were not cushions for the outdoor furniture, which was made of wrought iron. The weather was nice, so it would have been nice to have a comfortable spot to sit outside.

Perfect Hideaway

Great property, well maintained and secluded!! It was like staying in a treehouse. Just a little hiccup getting in as we had the wrong electronic for code which the owner rectified. We were NOT ready to leave when our rental was up. Four days of seclusion went by too quickly. This cabin has everything you need! Would definitely stay again, even in winter!

Beautiful cabin on busy road

Very nice cabin in a great location near Breezy Point, Cross Lake and Nisswa. Unfortunately it’s on a very busy road with noise heard on deck and inside. It wasn’t clear that there wasn’t access to the lake but sitting on the deck was very nice. Charcoal vs gas grill was a disappointment. I had problems communicating with the owner via the app but her son stepped in to help. Then we had problems getting into the cabin but resolved fairly quickly by the son. We enjoyed our stay but for the price it should have been smoother.

RENTERS BEWARE!!!

If you rent this property, take the time when you arrive to check every inch of the house and document what you find. We happened to be the unlucky ones who were accused of property damage from previous guests that was overlooked by the cleaning company who reports to the owner after the guests depart. Being accused and verbally attacked by this owner was not a great way to end a perfect weekend in Northern Minnesota. There are other wonderful vrbo’s in the area to rent!

Beautiful area.

We checked in after 4:30 as instructed by host. The problem was no one cleaned up after the last guest. Called the host and she would call us back. We have not heard from her. We are at home now. Very disappointed we had to strip the bed, take out the garbage, remove dirty towels and linens. Do the dishes. There was no toilet paper in the house so we had to go to the store before we could settle in.

Wonderful mid-winter stay

I am always very careful in my lodging selections and did my research very carefully. We've been to the area a few times before (Brainerd & area) and I had a pretty good idea where we wanted to stay but there is so many places to choose from. We just wanted a nice quiet place to get away from work mid-January. According to the information on line, this one bedroom cabin would be perfect. Everything met our expectations and we were very happy with our stay. If I had to find a small suggestion for improvement, I would question why there were no clothes hangers at all. Otherwise, it seemed everything we could possible need was provided and the cabin was very comfortable. I'm not the kind of person who wants to go back to the same place over and over because I'm always looking for somewhere new to explore but I would glowingly recommend this rental to my friends and acquaintances. Never got to stay - owner rented out and hasn’t refunded money

I am so disappointed, we rented this cabin on short notice for our 25th anniversary. When I return the signed contract (and had also paid), I received a note saying the cabin was already rented and to select other dates. I asked for clarification as that seemed odd and never heard back from owner. Phone number listed does not work. I wrote again asking for clarification and to please cancel and refund my money so I could make another reservation and I never heard from owner again. VRBO has said they are working on it but I’ve heard nothing back. This cabin sounded lovely, but we never got to find out. I feel like we got taken….

Wilderness Retreat

Florence’s property was beautiful. The location was very central to many locations / attractions.

This property is close to Breezy Point and Nisswa and a lot of lakes. Clean, beautiful property.The view was spectacular. I would recommend this to friends and family and we may book it again in the future.

Peaceful Weekend Getaway

Florence’s property is beautiful, and well maintained and appointed. It is in the heart of all things lake country, but it’s quiet retreat. You won’t regret spending a few days here with your loved one.

Weekend Getaway :D

Beautiful and Cozy! One of the best cabins I’ve stayed at in quite a while! Tucked away off the main road. Was one of the more relaxing stays. The view overlooking the lake was just gorgeous in the early morning. And the sunset, phenomenal! I would recommend my friends and family a stay here! I would love to come back!
