Waterfront, Lake Sylvia Cabin w/ Massive Deck & 2 Docks 3BR / 2BA - Sleeps 8

Beautiful 3 bedroom (including loft), 2 bathroom, cottage that sits on 85ft of lakefront property located steps away from crystal clear Lake Sylvia (17ft of water clarity). In addition to the cabin, we also have an air-conditioned bunk house with a full size Murphy bed and two sets of bunk beds (no bathroom). At the back of our 1 acre property there is a large shop that we've made into a game area. We have a basketball court, ping pong table and dart board for those rainy days. At the lakefront, we have two docks to accommodate your boat(s) and/or jet-ski(s) for lake cruising, or just relax on the dock and cast in a line. The lake is great for swimming and we have floaties for kids to use. End your swimming day by lighting a fire in our fire pit right on the water. The cottage has a massive deck with a large patio table that can accommodate up to 8 people comfortably - the view is gorgeous! Loons visit the property often, and occasionally you’ll see a crane or bald eagle hanging around. Inside the cabin, the kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, stove, etc. The living room has a fireplace, TV and DVD player with plenty of movies for adults & kids. There are 2 bedrooms. One is a Master and the other we call the 'tree house room' due to the full size bed and two bunk beds high above. Additionally, we have a loft space with a full size bed and storage space (bed linens provided). We have 2 full newly renovated bathrooms - one has a shower and tub for the little tikes.

Rainy cabin weekend

We loved the property! Perfect for our group size. Loved the 2 docks and we caught so much fish. Deck and steps are really slippery when wet and the door locks are a bit tricky but overall we loved this place!

Family Reunion at Lake Sylvia

We loved our stay at the Lake Sylvia Cabin. It was perfect for our family who was visiting from Kansas/Alaska, Seattle and Portland. We were able to walk to our family reunion that was held at my cousins house who are year round residents on Lake Sylvia. We explored the antique shops in Annandale and Buffalo. We had a nice dinner at the Bait & Hook in Cokato. We enjoyed sunshine, rain, thunder and lightening. The cabin itself was clean, well organized and comfortable for our family of 5 adults.

Girls Weekend

We do a family girls weekend once a year, and this spot was amazing. The pictures certainly do not do this cabin justice. The amount of loft beds and how they're set up was very cool. The bunkhouse was awesome and easily accessible. It's literally right on the water, with so much deck space. We didn't use the warehouse, since the heat was horrible outside, but I definitely will bring my family here and we would utilize it for sure. Overall, highly recommend.

Relaxing getaway

Had an incredible stay at this beautiful property. Loved the updated bathrooms/bedrooms with comfortable beds and the decor of the cabin. Lots of the activity options with games in the shed, watersports or relaxing and enjoying the lake view on the huge deck. The boat launch is located nearby making it easy to get on/off the lake. Owner was great to work with and quick to answer any questions.

Darling, classic cabin on a beautiful Lake!

The owners have done a nice job with the property. The bunkhouse is new and the ping pong entertainment area was fun for the kids. Everything was clean and comfortable. We had a slight problem during our stay but the owners were exceptional at responding quickly and were overall wonderful!

Lake Getaway

The cabin was terrific! The space was optimized so well with comfy beds galore and 2 well-appointed bathrooms. The decor was so nice and looked to be recently updated. The kitchen was stocked with lots of tools, bowls, dishes, etc. and there were toys for the lake and plenty in the pole barn too. I hope to visit again soon!

Family Graduation Celebration

Wonderful stay for a family get together to celebrate our niece's graduation. Property was as described and provided alot of options for indoor/outdoor fun based on the cganging weather. The beds were all super comfortable and thats always a plus! Beautiful view of the lake and it was nice in the mornings and evenings watching all the activities. Would definitely recommend for anyone of all ages.

Great location on lake, lots to do for kids and adults

Our family really enjoyed our week stay at the cabin. Fish were plentiful, lots of birds and action on the lake to keep us entertained. The kids enjoyed shooting baskets when they weren't out on the lake. Bunkhouse is a treasure!! Loved the space of the large deck. We all thought it was really great. Thanks for sharing your house with us--we had a wonderful family vacation week!!

Compact & cozy

Great little get away . Was neat & clean & great outdoor space for our family. The only drawback was the furniture in living room being it’s small no real comfortable place to stretch out if you want to watch movies at night or rainy. Large master bedroom was great & comfortable with view of lake. Cute bunk house for extra sleep space & large shed with games . Paddle boat & boards were nice to have to get out on lake.

Flexible sleeping arrangements

This property afforded us amazing lake views which we enjoyed all day long from the large deck. The lake is crystal clear with a sandy bottom. There are plenty of lake toys to use, but we did not. The town is close by with enough to keep us happy. I though one of the most unique things about this property was the sleeping arrangements. One bedroom has a queen bed, a second bedroom has a queen bed with a little loft on top, there is a loft above the bedrooms which had another bed that would sleep 2. Additionally, there was an air conditioned bunk house to sleep an additional 4 people. I don’t think the owners allow that many guests, but that sure does give guests a lot of options about where everyone will sleep! The owners were very easy to connect with yet they gave us our privacy.

Fantastic!

We had a fantastic time at the Blue Heron Cottage. Much of our time was spent sitting on the expansive deck in the shade of the maple trees overlooking the lake. The cabin looks small from the outside, but the creative layout is awesome - especially the huge master bedroom! The bunk house was perfect for the teenage kids we had with us. We also made use if the basketball court and the ping-pong up in the game area. On a rainy day the extra space would be great. We had great weather and were on, or in the lake most of the time. A great swimming lake with super clear water! The extra dock was great for the friends we had on the lake to come tie up and visit. We also made use of the paddle boards in the boat house - very nice! We had an awesome time and really enjoyed this VRBO! (The blue heron even visited each night on the shoreline right in front of the cabin!)

Fun Place for Family Entertainment

Jessica has done a nice job making the house feel like home with interesting decor mixed in with all the conveniences. Having a washer/dryer is a plus. The bunk house is an air-conditioned, neat retreat and sleeps five comfortably. And if the weather isn't the best, the rec room in the out building offers plenty of entertainment for the whole family. We had fun playing ping-pong and darts. For the little kids there are trikes and space to ride inside. There were lots of water toys and life jackets in the boathouse and all of us "kids" gave it a go at paddle boarding. You might wish to ask if you want to use the paddle boat as it would be difficult to get out and into the water. We enjoyed s'mores around the fire pit and listening to the loons. It was nice to have our own dock as we had rented a pontoon from Bremmer Water Crafts. We also fed little sunfish and caught some bigger fish off the dock. We had great luck fishing in this lake out in the boat and caught pan fish, bass, and some really big northerns. The cabin does have a few draw backs though. The air conditioner is a wall unit in the master bedroom. To get the house cooled, fans are used to draw out the air. It works just ok and the loft can get a bit stuffy. If the weather is cooler there is good air flow through the cabin. Not much seating is available in the living area and what is there is more decorative and interesting than comfortable. There are a lot of steps from the deck to the lake, some without hand rails as shown in the pictures. Think twice about this if your are bringing anyone elderly along. One major concern that I had was the access into the lake and also onto the dock. The footing is uneven, wet, and dangerous. Last, but not least - watch out for killer acorns! We were all amused by them falling at will. Overall, our stay was wonderful and fun for all ages.

Lovely in every way!

We loved our stay with our family on Lake Sylvia! The cottage was so cozy and beautifully decorated. Beds were comfortable which was was a huge bonus. Kitchen was well stocked! The huge shed in the back with BB, ping pong etc. was a hit on the rainy days. Check-in and communication were seamless and quick. We also appreciated use of the paddle boards, sand toys, floats, fire pit, life jackets etc. etc. The bunk house was perfect for my 3 teenage sons. Highly recommend! We'll be back! Thanks for letting us stay, Jessica!

Love this location!

We are repeat renters and loved the new remodel! Glad for more space. We initially had problems with the oven--the owners had a repair person over the next morning! Got fixed and we were able to cook the rest of our vacation! Great swimming and boating week for us! Thanks for renting!

Beautiful views of the lake!

Blue Heron cottage was wonderful! Jessica has done such an amazing job designing it to maximize the space. The decor is so well thought out and tasteful. We slept well every night with the comfortable beds and bedding and some of our guests even sneaked off during the day to take naps in the bunk house which is very cute and quiet. The AC in the house and bunk house was a blessing during a hot week (although there was usually a nice breeze off the lake). The very open views of the lake on the large deck were a treat and the trees provided a lot of nice shade. I would recommend Blue Heron cottage to anyone looking to rent on Lake Sylvia.

Amazing cabin!

The owners did a fabulous job updating this spacious cabin. Every detail is well thought out. The deck provides an amazing place to enjoy the views if the lake. We’ll be coming back!

Blue Heron was awesome!

We have rented several different cabins in this area. This was by far the nicest place. So well laid out with room for all of us to have our space! Jessica was amazing to work with - super responsive! As was Her cleaning person Allison. The outside deck was fantastic. Perfect for reading all those books I’ve been behind on. The dock worked perfect for tying up our pontoon for the week. If you have never been to Lake Sylvia you are missing out - one of the clearest lakes around. My teenagers enjoyed playing darts and ping pong in the shed too- because we had some cooler weather. Our pup Auggie may have been the happiest of all though. He would just run and jump off one dock get out and then run and jump off the other one. I don’t think he has ever slept so soundly at night! Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise.

A great place for a family stay

Our stay at this cabin was very comfortable and accommodating. The place was very clean inside and out and there was plenty of room for everyone for our family of 6. Jessica was very responsive to our questions and she provided us with plenty of suggestions and recommendations on the local area. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing, fun times at the lake

We really enjoyed staying at the Lake House. The weather was perfect and we were serenaded by loons morning and night. The cabin was comfy and had everything we needed. It was so quiet and peaceful there. I slept like a baby! I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect lakefront getaway!

We loved the property and all the amenities it offered. The lake itself is gorgeous with over 15 feet of water clarity. We caught a lot of fish right off the docks and the swimming was wonderful. You can't say enough about the wrap around deck that overlooks the lake. The bunk house and building with a ping pong table were a bonus! An absolutely perfect experience, we can't wait to come back!
