Walk out your front door and cross the street to the beach! Relax on the new front deck and watch boats go by and take pleasure in beautiful sunsets, in this 2,100 square foot, air conditioned, 4-bedroom, 2-bath beach house steps from the West Passage of Narragansett Bay.

Situated in a family neighborhood, this bright and comfortable beach house, with an all new kitchen, provides the perfect gathering place to unwind after a day at the beach. Relax in the living room with its cathedral ceilings, and watch all the activity on the bay, or step out onto the deck and relax with cocktails and watch the boats float by. Enjoy the enclosed sun room off the kitchen provides an expanded living space that tempers the cool evenings. The private and shaded back yard is perfect for bocce or croquet.

The home also features a spacious living area downstairs, with recreation area perfect for kids, including smart smart TV, while parents entertain upstairs. The finished lower level, with a full bathroom, round out the amenities of this charming home by the sea, which is nestled within one of Narragansett Bay's most desirable island communities.

The house is equipped with anything you could ask for! smart TVs, board games, books, WiFi, beach chairs with the sandy beach right across the street. Bring your kayak and explore the coast.

No daily housekeeping provided. We provide cleaning and laundry products. Linens & towels are supplied by owner, with cleaning fee included, however if the home is not left in an acceptable condition an additional cleaning fee will be assessed against your damage deposit. This is a NON-smoking home. You may smoke outside, but please dispose of all cigarettes properly in trash. If the cottage interior smells of smoke, your damage deposit will not be refunded.

Comfortable Home Away From Home

Lovely spot to spend a week! The house is so comfortably equipped and well maintained that we were instantly "at home". Everything we needed was on hand and the location is ideal -- away from the crowds but convenient to the attractions of the area as well as in close proximity to a beach and swimming. The owners are very accommodating and helpful. Well worth a return visit.

Family vacation

The house was the perfect size for our families of 5 adults and 3 children. It was right across from a shelly beach but it didn’t deter any of the kids from going swimming. Jamestown is a great town with a great supermarket. The kitchen is very well equipped. The location was great for easy access to Newport and Narragansett.

Great location and amenities!

We had a great stay at Jonathan’s property. The house was clean, in good repair and had all the important items (washer/dryer, towels, sheets, cooking implements, beach chairs etc…) Jonathan was responsive when we had a problem at the property and came over to help us fix it. The location is right across from the beach and the subsets were amazing!

Outstanding Summer Beach House

This is our second year vacationing in Jamestown. My only fear in writing this review is that the whole world will discover what a great place Jamestown is, and we'll have trouble booking our next vacation! The house is ideal for family gatherings, with a great kitchen, large open gathering spaces, lovely rooms, and two floors so that the kids can stay up late downstairs and the old folks upstairs won't hear a thing. Lovely views of the water, charming small rocky beach nearby and a short drive to a sandy beach, fabulous Beavertail State Park - and, if you're in the mood for crowds - Newport. The owner is totally professional, courteous and prompt in responding to any questions. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Outstanding Vacation Getaway!

This beautifully designed home offered the right blend of space and intimacy for our family. My elderly dad was able to easily maneuver into his room, and loved being able to walk to the small beach area and sit in the shade during the day. The other rooms were perfect for me, my sister and brother and our spouses. We had great family meals, played music, rode bikes, walked, relaxed....all in all could not have asked for a more memorable vacation. Only problem? The time slipped by too quickly. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful sunsets and location of property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We had a rocky start as Hurricane Henri was set to arrive on our second day. Jon brought candles bottled water and flashlights when the island lost power. The power outage was short but I really appreciated the extra effort to ensure we were comfortable. Throughout the week, Jon was very attentive and quick to respond to any requests/questions we had. We would have loved to have restaurants/coffee shops within walking distance but this is a bit far from the main town area but it is very easy to drive to. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location - amazing sunsets!

This was our second stay in a home owned by Jon. Two years ago we stayed in a waterfront property in the same neighborhood which was excellent. This year (because that other property was unavailable) we stayed in a different location in the same neighborhood and actually enjoyed it as much, if not more. The items that gave this home the "edge" were the proximity to the neighborhood beach and the a/c (which the other home did not have). We were able to walk the kayaks down to the water and also spend time on the beach after a day of golf and having the a/c available on some of the very humid days we've had this summer was a bonus! We had 7 people in the home for the week and everyone was comfortable. We were able to enjoy the sun room in the morning for breakfast but the room really heats up during the day so is not a spot where you'll spend a lot of time. We also loved being able to set up chairs in the backyard where it was cool and and still see the ocean. The property was clean and very well-maintained and the owner is extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend this (and already have) to friends and family. Though we didn't have young children with us, it's a great location if you have kids given the closeness of the beach. If you only have adults, we had no trouble getting an Uber when we wanted to go into Newport for some adult beverages. We will definitely be booking again next year!

Definitely Going Back!

A group of college friends and I had the pleasure of renting this beautiful property for a week, to celebrate our 60th birthdays! We considered a few other properties, but are thrilled that we chose this one!! I loved it so much that I hope to return next year with my husband, adult children, and their families ! It’s the perfect place for making lasting memories! The newly renovated interior of the cottage has windows and skylights that allow natural light to pour in, and I found every room to be clean and meticulously cared for, with a bright and inviting decor! There was plenty of comfortable gathering space, with the open floor plan in the upstairs and large bonus room in the basement. The kitchen was well equipped, for easy meal preparation. We were able to keep the inside temperature quite pleasant, as there is central air, plus a ceiling fan in every room! The spacious laundry room (full sized washer and dryer) on the lower level was very convenient, as was the outside shower. The well-maintained backyard is flat, grassy and shady and a great place for children (and adults!) to play! The close proximity to Sunset Beach was fantastic! It was just a short walk across the street and once there, it was like having our own private beach! We loved sitting on the front deck with a drink in hand, watching the beautiful sunsets over the bay. Plus, the location of this property provides an abundance of activities to choose from in the surrounding area. My friends and I took advantage of as much as we could! We swam and floated on rafts in the clean, calm water of the bay, carried our kayaks to Sunset Beach and paddled to the Jamestown Bridge, went clamming on Sunset Beach (found enough clams for a feast), rode bikes around the neighborhood, attended a polo match, and visited Beavertail Park and Lighthouse Museum. We walked the Newport Cliff Walk, drove around looking at Newport mansions, shopped and lunched in downtown Newport, and shopped and had dinner in Jamestown. The beauty of it is that you can opt to do everything or nothing at all! I really can’t say enough about this home or its owners, who were extremely accommodating and easy to work with and I would very highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Jamestown/Newport area. Note - Things you might want to bring: water shoes, boogie boards/rafts, gloves and small hand rake (for digging clams), kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, and fishing gear.

Lovely house in Jamestown, RI

It was a beautiful house with a lovely view of the water and sunset across the street. The only problem was that one room had a trundle bed and if you wanted to use the lower bed you couldn't open or shut the door or walk into the room. Aside from that everything was great and we would rent from this owner again.

Lovely house by sunset beach

We had a great week staying in this wonderful house. Jonathan was a pleasure to work with and very responsive to our questions. The house was very clean and is as described. It is located in a friendly neighborhood right by a beach with amazing sunsets. All the sitting rooms were charming, the kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms had comfortable beds. We really enjoyed staying in Jamestown which is a short drive to Newport and Narragansett.

Second Time Around

Calming water views and stunning sunsets brought us back to this wonderful home for a second time. The house is very clean, comfortable and has many amenities. We just loved our morning coffee on the front deck and greeting people passing by. It is a nice place to go for a walk or down to the beach. At night you can go into town for a meal, stroll, or an ice cream at Spinnakers. Jon and Mary Ellen take excellent care of their properties and are a pleasure to rent from. This house is truly a winner!

Fabulous Vacation Home!!

This home was a wonderful vacation rental! Quiet area where you could watch the sunset over the water from the deck. Home was well equipped. Newport is close if you want more action. Pet friendly yet there was no evidence of previous pets that may have stayed before us. The house has been updated and it shows. Every room is awesome. When it came time to go home no one wanted to leave! Definitely a sign of a great vacation!!! We would definitely recommend this rental!

Great house! Great vacation!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The pictures don't do it justice. It's spacious and nicely decorated. The owner is easy to work with and a pleasure to rent from. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The front deck is great for relaxing. Fantastic water views and breathtaking sunsets. You won't be disappointed.

Cozy house right across from the beach!

Great house right by the beach! The backyard is spacious enough to play outdoor games and the town has a couple good restaurants. Newport is a close drive too for more shopping and dining!

The perfect vacation home!

We really enjoyed our stay in Jamestown. The home is located in a very peaceful neighborhood and has a terrific view of sunset. The house is kept very clean and had everything we needed. The owners are extremely responsive and friendly. We were there with our older children and grandchildren and the downstairs level allowed for a great area for the kids to hang out and play on their own. The house is centrally located and the ferry ride to Newport was a very nice way to travel. It is close to the Jamestown Bridge and Newport Bridge so it was a short ride to the neighboring towns for restaurants and shopping. There is a private beach across the street as well as a town beach Mackerel Cove just a few miles away which we enjoyed. It was everything we could have asked for and more. We would definitely rent again!

Wonderful, clean, well equipped home by a quiet beach.

Had a terrific time at this location with my husband, two daughters and my granddaughter and son-in-law. The home with separate downstairs area was ideal. Not appropriate for loud parties. Was a nice, quiet neighborhood by the water. Loved the outdoor shower too! Exceeded our expectations! Louisa

Great house with all you need

This house is in a quiet area of Jamestown and right next to a local beach. The house is filled with all the amenities any family needs for a week at a vacation home for cooking, grilling sleeping, entertaining and relaxing. Jamestown is just over the bridge from Newport where a wide range of restaurant, bars and shops are located for those looking to leave the quiet of Jamestown. The owner is quick to respond to any communication. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return.

Great Vacation Home in Jamestown, RI

The perfect getaway

Our family needed a getaway and this was the perfect rental house, including the location and amenities. There is plenty of storage for your belongings, amble lighting and seating throughout the entire house. It's a good size house for a large group. Everything was new and tastefully decorated, while the kitchen was fully equipped for every possible need. This rental felt like home with all the conveniences such as a Smart TV, video games, DVDs, beach chairs, boogie boards and the outside shower. The beds and linens felt as if we were in a 5 star hotel. The owners have thought of everything! We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the front deck overlooking the beach and having our meals outside whenever we had the chance, including the fresh caught clams we steamed and enjoyed! Even our four legged friend enjoyed the scenery along with the daily walks around the quiet neighborhood. The access to the beach was priceless, not to mention all the white seashells to admire! So quiet, but yet so close to everything, the location was very ideal. We are looking forward to coming back again next year. Can't wait!

Great place

Spent long weekend here for spectating during the Newport stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race. Quick, enjoyable access to Newport, particularity via the Jamestown ferry. Yet a nice quiet refuge from Newport crowds. The house is immaculate, clearly freshly renovated by someone who cares about the details. It is spacious and has separate areas that work well for a large group. The deck is terrific, with water views. The curb appeal/exterior architecture is not super pretty, but you will get over that the moment you step inside. We will certainly book again.

Little Things Done Well

This was a great place for my family to use during a two week visit to RI. Jon has provided a house with everything needed on a holiday, from well decorated bedrooms and living areas down to the smallest kitchen equipment. The styling of the house was very classy and we enjoyed sitting on the deck with water views and balmy weather. Whenever we had a question or needed advice Jon was helpful. This made our trip a real pleasure. We would certainly use this house again the next time we come back here.

Relaxing Beach House

This beach house offers the perfect location with water views and close proximity to the beach on beautiful Jamestown Island. The beach was really nice and it was great that we could just walk back and forth to the house. The house is immaculate, recently updated and beautifully furnished and fully-equipped with every amenity you can imagine. The sun room is a wonderful place to have breakfast or dinner, or you can relax on the deck. Every room has a ceiling fan which keeps the home very comfortable. The outside shower is great, we used it everyday. The owner was very accessible and was a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely return for another wonderful week.

Great Beach House

We spent a week this summer at this perfect beach cottage. The beach is a very short walk across out the driveway and across the street. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach and talking with friends while our kids explored the jetty and played in the water and even found some clams! There is a private outdoor shower on the property which made life very easy. There are great restaurants just minutes away and plenty of shopping and activities for everyone. The owner was very helpful and always returned my emails promptly. I would definitely recommend this house very highly. The location is perfect.

My wife and I are avid adventure travelers, who like to explore new countries and cultures. We have grown up and been around water all of our lives. Having settled in the upstate NY Albany area, we enjoy skiing in the winter and the local lakes in the summer, but missed the open water. Getting a place on the water in Jamestown has been wonderful! There is much to explore and do on the island, and it's only a short hop over the bridge to all the bustle and activity in Newport.

Jon has retired from a long career in commercial building services and now focuses on finding, renovating and operating choice vacation rental properties in Jamestown. Jon continues to sail and race competitively when he can.

Mary Ellen continues her passion of leading STRIDE Adaptive Sports, a non-profit organization she founded as an outgrowth of her teaching career, providing sports and recreational activities for youth and Wounded Warriors with disabilities.

With cathedral ceilings, the open floor plan of the living room and dining / kitchen area is perfect to gather and relax after a day at the beach.
