Welcome to Makani Sands Unit #206. This beautiful one-bedroom condominium surrounds you with traditional Hawaiian feel and décor in your own beachfront home by the sea! To make your vacation in Paradise effortless, there is a High Definition TV, DVD, CD player, and everything you might need for your vacation get-away! There is a brand new kitchen with all the amenities, conventional appliances and a microwave oven as well. Our beachside BBQ is a great place to meet other vacationers while grilling your fresh island fish. Dine on your private lanai while enjoying the spectacular sunsets over Molokai and Lanai, our neighboring islands!.. There is a king bed and a 2nd TV in the bedroom. There is a sofa bed in the living room for an extra guest! Newly remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower. Sunbathe on the lawn, snorkel off our beach or swim in the freshwater pool, all within a few feet of your door. Washer dryer and free internet. Book your vacation today!

Mini Vacation

Spent a few days on this part of Maui and the property and location were fantastic. The ocean view was great and made for great scenes to wake up with. No A/C but the windows and fans kept the unit a perfect temp. Will stay again if we have the chance.

Well appointed suite, beautiful views, friendly people

First a big shout out to Tammy for being super responsive and so welcoming. The suite is great - clean and had everything we needed in terms of kitchen tools etc. Bathroom is large with lots of storage and a very spacious and updated shower. Love the big bbqs and tiki torches along the ocean. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing sunsets and Perfect Maui Breezes

We loved this condo. It was perfect. Close to all of the exciting sites, and yet private and friendly. Beech front views and scenic sunsets as our view made the location ideal. At night there is an amazing breeze that flows directly through the condo keeping it cool and fresh. Thank you so much for allowing us to utilize your home away from home in paradise. We will definitely be coming back.

Makani sands is walking distance to a number of good restaurants and a small sandy beach. We throughly enjoyed the sunset each evening with stunning views of Lanai and Molokai. It’s also a quick drive to Kampala, Lahaina etc.

This was our 8th time staying in this perfect location Condo. First time in a one bedroom. Access to beach front swimming/snorkeling was great. (Right out front). Barbecued almost daily. Quiet and peaceful.

Great value and location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It had been 35 years since we’d been to Maui so we weren’t sure where to stay and we had a budget. A friend stays nearby, that’s how we came upon this location. As with most places along this stretch it is an older condo but it is kept up nice. Great location, we never rented a car, but would next time to do more, but we were able to get our food local. Only drawback was a very firm bed, when this was mentioned we were told it was brand new so it may soften up with use.

It was a nice touch to see our names on a welcome sign the day we arrived! It rained most of the time we were in Maui but we were able to enjoy the waves and rain from inside our cozy condo. We are glad we had a rental car so we could venture out to less rainy areas or to indoor activities. We would definitely stay at Makani Sands #206 again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Makani Sands has never disappointed in all the years we have stayed at the property! The description of the unit was accurate and everything we needed we there for us. Tammy the property manager was so helpful and on top of every aspect of our stay. We come in February to see the whales and we like to do that with Captain Steve's Whale Watches (they lost their boats in the fire but you can still book through them and go out on smaller boats to get a great experience). You can watch the whales right from your lanai - just bring some good binoculars! There is so much to see and do on Maui and Makani Sands is 10/10 the best place to make your home base for a week or two!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we booked the stay at Makani Sands we weren’t able to stay in the same room for our entire trip. We were moved to this room for the for last days of our stay. Tammy and Debbie made the room change very easy. This room also had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Only issue was low water volume in the shower which we discussed with Tammy. The view and amenities compensated for the ongoing construction. We would stay again and recommend it to our friends and family.

Last Minute

My husband and I were flying stand by so we didn't make reservations ahead of time in case we didn't get on a flight. I literally booked this condo from the car rental agency in Maui. The only bummer was that we hs to wait two days to get into the property per VRBO's rules. Once we got there we were so happy. It was clean and right on the water. Beautiful! Listening to ocean waves the entire time we were there was the best. We saw many sea turtles and swam a lot right there in front of the property. I have already recommended this place to other people. The only negative I have is that there is no air conditioning and it got very warm in the condo in the late afternoon and evening. Also, because there is no air conditioning you hear everything going on outside and people were in the pool and the ocean by 6/7am every morning. Although we did love hearing the ocean we would've like to sleep past 6am on vacation some days. Still, a great place to stay!

Disappointment, I would stay elsewhere

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I wouldn't stay here again. Yes, the room had a view of the ocean but half of the front terrace was under construction and there were huge holes. There was also limited parking and the trees you had to park under left bird poop all over your car. There really isn't a beach in front of the condo and the pool is in the rear. The condo was dated but left in ok condition. The kitchen cabinets could be changed because they were sticky, and the doors were hard to open. Several of the outlets also didn't work so you had to move the coffee maker next to the phone outlet. There were other condos similar in price adjacent to Makani Sands. I wish I would have booked one of those. I was also told I would get 25% off my stay due to the construction and my credit card was charged the original amount.

A Rainbow on the Beach Place

We totally loved this beautiful ocean view, super clean condo. Watching the rainbow arching on the ocean or spot the a cute, little turtle passing by from the balcony are some of our fav memories at this place. It has a homely furniture setup with fully equip kitchen including many, many spices for your home-cook meals. The staff are very nice and friendly. Mahalo for such a wonderful stay.❤😊

Very nice stay

My husband and I were on Kauai for a week and decided to extend our trip and check out Maui. For a last minute booking we were very impressed. Beautiful view. Great sunset right from your room. Very nice location for the price, just a short drive to ka’anapali beach and whale’s shopping center. Friendly staff. I was a little disappointed that the stairs down to the water were blocked off with caution tape so we could not snorkel or swim. If we come to Maui again we will probably stay in a larger resort where we can just walk to the beach, but we loved what we got for a last minute booking and the price. I do recommend.
