Newly renovated village home in the southern French village of Argeliers, sleeps 8 in four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, spacious living area, fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room, garage for bicycle or very small trailer/roof rack storage, street parking, laundry.


Ground floor: Wide entrance hall into dining room, new kitchen opening onto private garden courtyard with in-ground security-fenced pool, dining terrace & furniture, Gas BBQ. Downstairs WC, and laundry in garage.

Second Level: 1 Twin bedroom (2 twins) and 1 Double bedroom. Shared main bathroom with shower. Living room with double doors opening to terrace offers views of the Canal du Midi and vineyards. 1 Double bedroom with en suite shower & toilet.
Third Level: King sized bedroom with en suite bath tub & toilet.

Great village house

We were really pleased with the house, it was spotless and well equipped. The air conditioning was a welcome feature. The pool and outside area are perfect for family dining. The children and adults loved the pool. The location is great for exploring the Aude region. Lots of lovely restaurants and the village wine was great. The owner was very welcoming and easy to contact. Thanks for a great stay

Séjour du 3 au 17 juillet 2021

La maison est très calme située dans une impasse et sans vis à vis cote jardin comme côté rue. La piscine est très proche de la terrasse ce qui permet une surveillance facile et est sécurisée par une clôture de 1m 50.. C est une ancienne maison de ville bien restaurée sur trois niveaux 3 chambres au premier et une quatrième au 2 eme étage avec trois salles de bain et quatre WC. Très belle vue depuis le balcon. Nous avons pu découvrir les villages environnants ainsi que les plages de Gruissan, le trajet moyen étant de 30 km aller environ pour toutes les sorties. Nous avons très apprécié l accueil de Dannielle très soucieuse du notre bien être , le seul point d amélioration pourrait être d’équiper la chambre bleue avec des rideaux occultants , côté Est, car le jour se lève tôt début Juillet.

A perfect haven!

Having spent an intensely hot week on a boat on the Canal Du Midi the villa proved to be a most welcome retreat. The inside space is spacious and clean. The large kitchen is well equipped and the additional fridge/freezer in the garage was very useful. The airy bedrooms have comfortable beds and the amazing air con meant we experienced blissful night's sleep- unlike on the boat! The outside space is smaller than we imagined but still perfect for our needs. It is very private, the pool is big enough to cool off in and the sunbeds easy to laze away the hours on! The eating area provided welcome shade throughout the day and a nice space to sit and chat into the evening. Danielle and Julian are excellent hosts- available if you need them but otherwise discreet. We left feeling relaxed and recharged - only wishing we could of stayed longer! Best wishes for the future Lucy, Stuart and family.

Maison agréable

Très bonne semaine chez Danielle, la maison est très bien et propre. nous étions 8, il manque juste peu de vaisselles (verres et couvert). Nous avons apprécié la climatisation qui est présente dans toutes les pièces.

Perfect stay!

We have just spent 2 weeks at La Maison Cachee and had a wonderful time. This lovely house comfortably accommodated 6 of us and had everything we needed. The bedrooms were beautifully cool, plenty of bathrooms, the kitchen was a good size and well equipped, but most of all the outside area with dining table, barbecue, and the beautiful pool made this the perfect stay for us! Dannielle and Julian left us alone but were really helpful when we needed them, and were even able to get us 6 bikes for a couple of trips along the beautiful Canal du Midi for lunch in the nearby village of Le Somail. Argeliers is a quiet village with a couple of bars and Le Chat Qui Peche is a great restaurant next to the canal which we highly recommend. Easy access to the Intermarche and lots of lovely villages made this a great base for the region. Would definitely stay again when in the area!

Home away from home

Lovely house - 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, laundry, dishwasher, pool. We rented the property for 10 nights and went with our 2 children, ages 5 and 10. We had a great deal of room to move around and not get on each other's nerves. The property is really well laid out with the master suite upstairs, 3 bedrooms on the 2nd level (with a tv room) and the kitchen/dining rooms downstairs. Swimming pool was lovely (a touch cold still in May). Very close to bakery and food store, as well as post office. We used the BBQ several times and dined outside as often as possible. Owners know the area very well and are perfect hosts. Will stay here again 100%. If you're renting a car, make sure you also rent/bring a GPS or use your phone. Argeliers is very picturesque, we loved walking and barging along the Canal du Midi. Thank you!!

Fabulous village house!

My family and friends have just returned from spending an idyllic week in Argeliers. The house has been beautifully renovated and is very comfortable and very well equipped. It was a perfect property to visit with friends as it is so spacious and allows privacy. The outside space is fantastic with a lovely outside dining area as well as a herb garden and fenced pool. Argeliers is a perfect base to explore the region and Argeliers itself offers everything you need: a shop, bakers, butchers, bar and a few restaurants. Can't recommend this property enough!!!

Truly a Home Away from Home

This home became our anchor for three months in this tranquil Languedoc area. The home is spacious with all the required amenities to receive guests comfortably. The home is close to the village where most provisions can be purchased. The swimming pool was an added bonus and always sparkled. The garden was a pleasure to look on while enjoying the outside patio, which was always protected from the wind. A super BBQ made meal times easy. The Managers were very caring and helpful. We would recommend this home for any family. There are endless things to do in the surrounding area and the Owners have left excellent guide books and tips for guests to follow. We would return without hesitation.

A Perfect Piece of French Paradise

I absolutely love this holiday house with private back garden and pool. The lavender, roses and herbs in the garden remind you that you are living the good life in the south of France. The house is spacious, well appointed, ver clean and charming. The kitchen is large and ideal for group cooking. And, if you really don't want to cook there are a couple of restaurants in Argeliers to try. Our favourite is Le Chat Qui Peche, just a five minute walk from the house. A wonderful feature is being so close to the Canal du Midi. It's a quick walk away and is the perfect place for cycling, long walks and boat watching. You can also wander through the vineyards that surround Argeliers. I can't wait to get back and to bring friends with us next time as there's plenty of room--both in the house and on the pool deck.

Julian and I are both Canadians who have come to own, work and run the luxury hotel barge Athos, on the Canal du Midi. We have been based in Argeliers since 2001 with our young family. We have a healthy enjoyment of our french country life that extends to our knowledge of the region's wines, the places of historical importance, the fun tourist activities and varied sports activities in the surrounding area.

Renovated with modern conveniences and comforts, the property includes 4 bedrooms & bathrooms, a sitting room, kitchen / dining, a gas BBQ, a lush and private courtyard garden with 6 x 4m pool, and four bathrooms. It has generous space for 8 people and is centrally located between Narbonne and Beziers - 40 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches and 45 minutes from Carcassonne or Beziers airport, 1.15min from Montpellier.
