A lovely little piece of paradise located on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, this home features an open floor plan, a seating area for relaxing with an amazing view of the gulf, a fully-equipped kitchen with a stainless steel range, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher, and access to a shared pool.



What's nearby:

You won’t have any trouble finding something to do on Dauphin Island! You can visit nearby Fort Gaines, Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Audubon Bird Sanctuary, West End Beach, East End Beach, playground, basketball court, and a skate park. There are great boutique shops, as well as eateries. There is a golf course, mini golf and miles of bike paths and miles of white sand beaches! Bring (or rent) bikes, go fishing, rent kayaks, go for a beautiful sunset cruise or explore the beach via the nearby boardwalk.

Retirement Retreat

My best friend’s sister is retiring. We thought a week at Dauphin Island was a great getaway idea. It was a fantastic week at a really great location. Would book again, for sure.

Clean, quiet, and friendly

The condo was very nice. We enjoyed every moment of the stay. The beach in front of the property is washed away due to storms, but if we walk 50 feet, the beach becomes wide open and private. Lots of towels, comfy beds, plenty of entertainment for families.

Great off the grid getaway

Great off the grid getaway. The beach was close. The beds were good although the master bed was small. The house smelled a bit before we got there. The pots and pans were nasty. Overall a good trip.

Quiet little getaway!

I had a great experience renting this home. It was very clean and furnished very well with the exception of no tea picture but we may do. I’ve never been to dolphin Island but I loved it and I will be back! Thank you to the owners for sharing their home!

I loved the outdoor shower near our condo so we could be sure and get the sand off of us. Beautiful white sandy beaches. Will be back!!!!!

There are no balconies in these particular condos so first floor was a great option for us. Condo was clean and provided almost all our needs. It is a very short walk to the beach and the pool was clean and refreshing. We had a blast.

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from private beach just steps down the boardwalk. Everything you need is provided. Lots of pots and pans-if you like big cups of coffee bring your super sized mug. Nice beds (middle bedroom has its own bathroom) plenty of seating, lots of natural light. View of ocean. We did a lot of cooking- fresh seafood! Close to everything. We will return to walk all the beach’s, hike the bird sanctuary and sit by its little lake. Lovely.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was very clean, very close to the beach. We had some problems with the A/C and the dishwasher, but they were quickly resolved by Island Resort management repairmen. The only complaint is that this unit is advertised for 6 people, but there are only 4 chairs at the dining table, which was kind of an inconvenience for us.

Beds were comfy. The pool was nice but always a little crowded. Would be nice if they had an adult only time! We locked our keys in the condo one day and they sent someone over within 15 minutes to let us in! The Island Resort Management staff were very nice!

The only negative we had was that it described the pool as heated and it wasn’t. Also the condo units would be a little more appealing if some of the units had small patio’s outside their patio doors where you could sit in the evenings. Definitely will be back again

The beds were very comfortable. The beach was great and only a short walk from our condo. We also enjoyed the pool. We loved Dauphin Island! Peaceful, no traffic problems, good restaurants We took the fairy a couple of times to do some shopping in Gulf Shores, visit Fort Morgan and the Pier. It was easy getting on and off the ferry and absolutely no problems. Very reasonable round-trip tickets.

Clean and quiet! Felt like a real vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 4 adults, 2 teens and 1 toddler. I was afraid the condo wouldn’t be big enough for all of us but it was a perfect fit! Took a play pen for the tot and it fit perfectly in the master bedroom with room to walk around. We had such a good time and was able to prepare and cook all meals inside or on the grill. Neighbors are very nice as well 💜. Not too far of a walk to the beach, the pool was too warm but that’s expected in mid summer. We all loved our stay and will definitely return. I would suggest getting the gate code to get in the parking lot if you plan on getting there after closing time as we did not.

Place was nice, the beach was beautiful and private which was the best part. There was some major miscommunication between Vacasa who "manages" the place and the onsite property manager about what time we could get in. Luckily the onsite manager let us in early, or we would have been waiting all day. Also key to get in was in a different lockbox than the lockbox on the actual door, that was very confusing. The lockbox on the door needs to get removed, it's there for no reason. Also the ad, specified there was a basketball court on property, there wasn't. Finally the pool is nice, but the water is freezing.

Not quite what we were looking for

The property is well maintained, clean and cozy. The bathrooms are small and the stand-alone shower in the main bathroom is not tall people friendly. The master bedroom is in the middle of the 2 bedrooms and has no windows and the bathroom is a tight space and not tall people friendly either. The walls are rather thin in the unit and makes privacy difficult. The kitchen is very well stocked and it has a pantry and plenty of cabinet space. The washer and dryer are nice to have in the unit, especially with kids; made it easy to keep clothes from piling up. There is only 1 pool on the property and it is rather small for such a larger property. The staff on site were very welcoming the whole week. There are a few places to eat out and get groceries but at a higher cost. The island doesn’t have a ton of activities for families in our opinion, it is a beautiful place but not our preferred location or vibe for a full week beach vacation.

Surb Club A-5, a little slice of Heaven

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 6th year visiting Dauphin Island and our 3rd stay at Surf Club with 2 of those visits staying in Surf Club A-5. Our family is so happy to have found this gem of a condo. It has everything you need (minus food and beverage)to stay comfortable and happy for an entire week...or longer! The condo is clean and is decorated very nicely. We really liked the remodeling that was done to the condo in late 2017, to make way for a 3rd sleeping space. The teens really liked having the twin beds versus the shared air mattress that was previously provided. The condo itself, is perfectly positioned directly across the courtyard from the swimming pool; and short walk down the boardwalk to the beach. We also like the sense of safety we feel on the property with its gated, security code entrance, knowing the public beach-goers will not be coming in and out at all times. We are all looking forward to our next stay. We have most definitely found our "home away from home" at Surf Club A-5 and appreciate the condo owners for sharing their little slice of heaven with us!

Who is in charge?

Had difficulty maintaining internet and phone connections. We could not enter the compound or rental on the first attempt because the gate and lock box information was on my phone which could not be accessed because of a poor connection. Left our car and walked under the gate. Found the property manager who did not know we were coming and was of no help entering the condo. I'm not sure who manages the condo. Is it VBO or Vacasa? We had a wonderful time and would come back again. Don't know exactly what is happening with the complaint, but it is very obvious that the property manager is NOT happy with whatever it is. She found it necessary to tell us all of the things she couldn't do for us and that there was a law suit pending. The fact that I received an email to review the property from both VRBO and Vacasa is very telling.

Not a king

This property does not have a king bed as listed. It's a queen in the main bedroom and looks to have been from the beginning as it's the same bed as the pictures. It feels like a case of bait and switch. If you are looking for a king bed as are a large number of searchers, this is not the place. We certainly would not have booked the property. Overall the property was fairly clean and a quiet location. The swimming pool was smaller than we thought it would be and busy, so we never ended up using it. The beach was the best part as you could find a spot and it was more peaceful than other places we have been. For a large family there wasn't even a large pot to cook things like spaghetti and other pots/pans were getting tired and flaking. Luckily, we brought our own griddle, but unfortunately we didn't have our own salt/pepper as everywhere we have ever stayed had the basics. There were only 4 dining chairs for a place that sleeps 6. We had to use beach chairs in order to seat everyone at the table. The bbq wasn't put to use as it's getting rather tired and lacked propane. We ended up not using the first door that enters into the kitchen as the locking mechanism isn't right and difficult to get latched correctly to lock. We didn't bother to call about these basic things as we wanted to spend our time on vacation and not inspecting and fixing a property.
