Beautiful apartment with glass front and mountain panorama - near Bolzano

Our house is located on a mountainside at 1,200 meters in Jenesien, about 15 minutes from Bolzano, and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Dolomites.

The vacation rental is on the first floor and features two bedrooms, a large living room with a kitchen, and a bathroom, as well as two satellite TVs and high-speed internet. There is a small pond in front of the apartment.

The house is situated in a very quiet location on a 6,000-square-meter property consisting of woods and meadows, right on the European long-distance hiking trail E5, which connects Lake Constance with Venice and Verona. There is a bus stop nearby (3 minutes away); the shops and restaurants in Jenesien are about an 8-minute walk away. The main attraction in Bolzano is Ötzi, the Iceman.

A parking space for our guests is located directly in front of the property. Upon arrival, you’ll receive towels and bed linens, as well as a hiking map of the area. We’re also happy to provide some tips on hiking trails and which restaurants in Bolzano, Jenesien, and the surrounding area are worth visiting. The Langfenn, Lanzenschuster, and Tschaufenhaus inns are within a 2-hour hike and offer excellent and varied South Tyrolean cuisine.

The hiking area stretches from Jenesien to Hafling and Meran. Just a few steps from the house lies the “Salten” high plateau with its vast larch forests and alpine meadows. Hikes across the Salten offer panoramic views of the neighboring high mountain ridges. In the spring, the blooming crocuses and, in the summer, the rich mountain flora are a feast for the eyes. In November, the larch trees on the plateau turn yellow and red, and the hiking trails are strewn with a carpet of red larch needles. And in winter, the area is perfect for snow hikes. The nearest ski resort is about 45 minutes away.

Our house was featured in numerous architecture magazines in Germany, Austria, and Italy in 2013 because it was built as an energy-self-sufficient home in a very scenic setting (see the illustration in the magazine “greenbuilding”). We used the COVID-related hiatus in 2020–2021 to renovate the vacation rental: the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom were completely refurbished.

Our house is connected to the South Tyrolean fiber-optic network. This provides our guests with high-speed internet at 38 Mbps for both download and upload speeds. Internet access is available via Wi-Fi and/or wired LAN connection and can be completely turned off upon request.

Our “neighbors” are five horses; we can arrange riding lessons upon request.

By the way, everything in South Tyrol is bilingual: Italian and German. In Italian, our village is called San Genesio.
