Our completely renovated half-timbered house is part of a larger complex of half-timbered buildings. It combines historic charm with a modern atmosphere.
The high-quality amenities leave nothing to be desired:
- Built-in kitchen with induction cooktop, oven, and dishwasher.
- Living room with a large flat-screen TV (Magenta TV) and free high-speed internet.
- Wood-burning stove.
- Washer-dryer combo
- 2 bedrooms with a high-quality box-spring bed (Bedroom 1) and two comfortable pull-out recliners (Bedroom 2). The beds will be made upon your arrival. A crib is available upon request.
- Bathroom with a nearly floor-level shower and additional underfloor heating. A hair dryer and a selection of toiletries are provided. Hotel-quality towels are, of course, available.
- Our village has its own water extraction system. The water is stored in an underground tunnel of an old mine. The water entering the system is between 2 and 70 years old. To make sparkling water, you’ll find a sparkling water maker in our house.
- All windows are equipped with pleated blinds and, in some cases, insect screens.
- The courtyard, paved with natural stone, is spacious. In the adjoining barn cellar, you’ll find patio furniture, an umbrella, and a gas grill.
Our half-timbered house is heated by an eco-friendly heat pump.
Geilhausen, first mentioned in records in 1367, is nestled in a picturesque landscape along the upper Sieg River. The village has its own train station. You can travel comfortably on the Hessische Landesbahn (HLB) via Altenkirchen and Westerburg all the way to Limburg. The other route leads upstream along the Sieg via Au/Sieg to the university town of Siegen and downstream to Cologne.
The village is part of the larger municipality of Windeck.
The banks of the Sieg, the forests, and the hills of the Westerwald and the Bergisches Land invite you to hike and bike along the Natursteige Sieg and the Westerwald-Steig trails.
A designated swimming area on the river is within walking distance of the vacation home.
Additional recreational opportunities are available in neighboring Waldbröl, home to the well-known Panarbora Park, as well as in Windeck, featuring the Silberhardt visitor mine, the Windeck castle ruins, and many other attractions.
E-bikes can be rented upon request, making cycling fun even in the mountainous region.
All shops for daily necessities are located in Rosbach, the municipality’s administrative seat, 5 km away.
We can help you get in touch with doctors, therapists, and providers of alternative treatment methods.
