Old meets new—come and unwind.
The Scheunenloft is a modern vacation rental in a barn over a hundred years old—a special place steeped in history, charm, and plenty of character. Perched high up in the attic, it offers a retreat for two people seeking peace, intimacy, and something special.
Ideal for couples.
The apartment is intentionally designed for two people and is perfect for spending time together. Access is via a metal staircase on the right side of the barn—the first step into an extraordinary vacation experience.
Living with character and warmth.
The open living space welcomes you with a clean design and a high level of coziness. The wood-burning stove provides pleasant warmth and creates romantic evenings—a real highlight, especially during the cooler months. A coat closet with a clothes rod is discreetly located in the entryway behind a slatted door.
Sleeping on the loft.
An open staircase leads you to the loft, where you’ll find a cozy double bed (160 × 200 cm) with a full-length mattress. Coat hooks, a dresser, and two chairs create a pleasant and functional atmosphere here as well.

The new, modern built-in kitchen is fully equipped. For your coffee enjoyment, there’s a filter coffee maker, a pod coffee maker, and a French press—perfect for a peaceful start to the day.

Additional firewood can be provided upon request (€10 per bag).
Practical Information.

"Our first vacation on the Schlei—and as the first guests in this beautiful, romantic vacation rental, and the first guests after the COVID-19 lockdown, we had a wonderful week filled with bike rides and hikes under sunny skies with scattered clouds. It was a dream come true for relaxation—we’re already looking forward to coming back! Many thanks, Jutta and Christoph B. from Hanover,” April 2021
“We were thrilled when we suddenly heard about the Schlei as a model region and were able to snag this great vacation rental on fairly short notice. Despite the pandemic, we were able to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary here, with a wonderful meal in Eckernförde and a few lovely days in Brodersby. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side, but we were still able to go on a few bike rides, a hike, and visit Kappeln and Eckernförde. Since we felt so at home in this apartment, the time just flew by. All that’s left is to say thank you and wish you all the best for the future.” Michaele & Damian S. from the Eifel, May 2021
“Two wonderful weeks on the Schlei—what a great way to unwind after the exhausting months of the pandemic. We felt right at home in the lovingly furnished apartment from the very first minute. On long bike rides and while exploring the many charming little towns, we were able to unwind, and now we’re heading back to the Rhineland. We’d love to come back. We hope future guests have a wonderful time as well!" Karin and Peter from Haan, Mettmann District, June 2021
"We had a wonderful week here on the Schlei. For us, the barn loft was a place of coziness and relaxation. We couldn’t have
