The space-A luxurious lake-front property on the south shore of Lake Atitlan, between Cerro de Oro and Santiago Atitlan.

Our check-in time is 3pm. Check-out time is 11am.

The space
This lovely, secluded space is perfect for family groups or those looking for a retreat or get-away. The home is beautifully furnished and spacious; on 3 levels leading to the garden and the lake shore.

The upper, entrance level has a huge open-plan area with a gourmet kitchen, dining area, and a large living area with fireplace leading out to a large terrace. This is the perfect spot for morning breakfast or sunset cocktails.

The second floor has a large bedroom with king and matrimonial (double) beds, and full bathroom. There is an additional futon bed in the living space on this level. This is the perfect place for your yoga practice.

The bottom level has two large bedrooms, both with views of the lake, en suite full bathrooms, and private entrances. One room has two queen beds; the other has one queen bed.

The lush, landscaped gardens slope gentle down to the lake with a covered area to relax in a hammock or have a picnic. Our small beach has a private dock--perfect for swimming.

The whole house has a water-filtration system, so water is safe to drink from the tap! We run on grid-tied solar power with battery back-up, so you don't even notice the occasional Atitlan power outages. Ample hot water comes from our solar water heater, with a gas back-up for extra cloudy days.

Guest access
The entire house, terraces, gardens, beach, dock are available to you, with the exception of three locked closets.

Please be aware that our neighbors have use of our dock. They live in Guatemala City and come to the lake occasionally.

Other things to note
While Santiago and San Lucas Toliman have great local markets and there are many small tiendas, there are no large supermarkets on this side of the lake. We recommend that you bring your groceries (stop on the way). The lake's only grocery stores of any size are in Panajachel, though there is an excellent health food store in San Pedro.

We allow up to 8 guests. We may allow up to 10 guests (additional fee) under the right circumstances. If your group is larger than 10 (excluding infants), this is not the right rental for you.

Please note that the best way to get here from Guatemala City or Antigua is via the coastal road (not the InterAmerican highway to Panajachel). If you do not have a car, we recommend hiring a private van. We can help you make those arrangements. If you want to come by boat, please contact us first. Do not expect that boat drivers in Panajachel will be able to find the house.

The 1km private road is dirt and stone, but is in excellent condition. It is suitable for any type of car except, perhaps, sports cars.

The chalet is in a wooded area. While we do our best to keep spiders out of the house, they do come inside--especially when there is a change in the weather. Our staff looks for and removes spiders, but if you see one they missed, please tell them so they can take care of it for you.
