Charming private coastal cottage in the historic settlement of Salter Path. Relax by the pool or enjoy the day at the beach only a short walk on the beach path through 100 year old live oak trees. Take advantage of our beach chairs, towels, and shibumi. Spend evenings on the rooftop deck enjoying a beverage while overlooking the Intracoastal waterway. Lounge on the hammock, take a dip in the hot tub. Rinse the sand off in the outdoor shower conveniently accessible from coming off the beach. Enjoy the cozy coastal decor with attention to details like natural fiber cotton and linen fabric in the bedding and a comfortable down stuffed couch with pillows and throws. Spend the evening in cooking in a fully stocked kitchen. Cottage is located close to many dining options and a local waterfront venue with live music.

Lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. Kristi thought of everything, Very responsive to our questions. We really loved the hot tub, pool and the private access to the beach . We’ll be back!

Staying at Kristi and Mikes cottage is a very relaxing and comfortable experience. The cottage is beautifully decorated, a very easy walk to beach and the outdoor areas were our favorite spots. Thank you !

Ultimate Vacation Destination!“The Knook” offers you everything you could possibly wish for in a VRBO rental! The property was absolutely perfect and very beautiful. Our hosts were hands-on and they both ensured we had everything we needed for a fabulous stay. Beach access is very convenient and the property amenities are well thought out to accommodate poolside activities with a backyard feel. Best VRBO booking by far and we cannot wait to return!

This listing is great. The pool, the actual "apartment", the location, etc were awesome. Very, very clean and every need was thought of in advance. We enjoyed it so much. 10 out of 10.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage. It is exactly as advertised on VRBO. I think even better. The cottage is so charming. The entire place is decorated to the nines!! The pool is incredibly beautiful especially at night. The path to the beach is gorgeous, We walked through hundred year old beautiful trees. We were here to celebrate our anniversary & enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you Kristi & Mike for making our anniversary so very special for us !! We will definitely be back! This cottage deserves

Great place to stay. Very clean and all brand new. The pool and hot tub are excellent and the outdoor shower was a great thing to have coming off the beach. The path to go to the beach right from the pool is awesome! 10 out of 10. Will be back

Great Knook Cottage with all the amenities you could ask for, comfortable, clean, & beautiful decor.It was nice to be able to call or text the owners directly with any questions. The owners were so accommodating, available, & offered to light the fire pit at night!We especially liked the privacy, swimming in the lighted pool at night, widows lookout to Bogue Sound to enjoy the delicious coffee brewed in the Keurig coffee pot or individually brewed cup, walk to the private beach access, outside enclosed surf board shower to rinse off the sand, washer & dryer, and everything to make you feel at home.We only wish we stayed longer, so we'll be back again to try out the hot tub & relax by the fire pit.Thank you Kristi for sharing your Knook Cottage.

Love the trail for beach access, if you love the beach this is the perfect condo, there's plenty of chairs you can borrow. Overall great hostess and close by everything as in the pine knoll aquarium, a mini golf and go karts across the street so why drive? You can walk to enjoy. If I was anyone please look up Sand Dollar Island ferry you will have a blast I know my wife and I did!! This condo is perfect for all your travels and beach activities. The condo was clean and the nice sunshine that shines in make the stay extraordinary.Thank you

Simply amazing. Kristi has created a jewel box here at the coast. The decor and vibes - immaculate. Steps from a private beach (no public access) through a charming well-worn path, the outdoor shower was incredibly refreshing. Kitchen well-stocked and the washer & dryer there was so convenient. The mattress was so comfy, obsessed with the lamps in the bedroom. We were so sad to leave but hope to return. Best vacation ever. Thank you again, Kristi & Mike!

Bogue Banks and the surrounding areas offer a true coastal experience on island time. Take advantage of fishing charters, shelling adventures, the wild ponies on Shackleford, Cape Lookout National Wildlife, diving expeditions, wine tasting, delicious coastal dining, water sports, so many adventures you will never run out of things to enjoy!!

The historic settlement of Salter Path is charmingly beautiful and a unique coastal community. Salter Path has a rich history of developing from a fishing village with many of the founding families continuing to live here and carry on Salter Path’s legacy. We enjoy riding our bikes to the Crab Shack, Anchor Pizza, Captain’s Kitchen (best oyster burger), Big Oak, Early Birds and have 1 new restaurant coming soon; Bogue Oyster Club! We also enjoy a night out at Homer’s Point, a waterfront venue with live music. All within a mile of the cottage. When we feel like cooking Captain Willis’s offers fresh catch and Miss Vesta Willis is a wonderful story teller of the old fishing village.

The cottage offers the best of a relaxing getaway to the beach. It’s close to all the local restaurants, watersports, and mini golf. It offers beach days, pool days, fire pit and rooftop deck nights. It’s also a short drive to Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle’s restaurants. The Atlantic Beach causeway is lined with captains offering inshore and offshore fishing charters. You never have to leave the island to fill your time with adventure!
