Our vacation home is located in the St. Pierre Vacation Park and is just a 5-minute walk (300 meters) from one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in the Netherlands. The 100-meter-wide sandy beach, which has been awarded the “Blue Flag” for cleanliness, stretches from Nieuwvliet northward to Breskens and southward to Zeebrugge in Belgium. It is one of the beaches with the most hours of sunshine in all of Holland. The numerous cozy beach pavilions invite you to linger and enjoy the sunset, and the long dune paths—which are perfectly suited for bike rides—take you through expansive nature reserves, past lighthouses, and through a beautiful dune landscape. The area invites you to take a variety of different bike rides right from your vacation home.
St. Pierre is one of the first parks to be built in the area. The houses are all privately owned, so the complex has a very individual design and exudes great charm. Thanks to the individually planted hedges and trees, the park offers plenty of privacy. Between the houses are large open meadows that are well-suited for ball games. There’s also a large playground for children in the park.
At the park’s entrance, you’ll find a great bakery, a bike rental shop, a small souvenir shop, and a hotel with a bowling alley.
The vacation park is located in Nieuwvliet-Bad, which lies between Breskens and Cadzand and is part of the beautiful Zeeland region. Just 15 minutes away, in Oostburg, Sluis, and Breskens, there are various shopping options. Oostburg, in particular, stands out for its large number of supermarkets. Here you’ll find Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Aldi, Lidl, a butcher with top-quality grilled meats, and a weekly market.
The nature park “Het Zwin,” known far beyond the region’s borders and which describes itself as the “international airport for birds,” is just a short bike ride away and delights visitors of all ages with its large museum, observation center, and a large stork population.
Even in bad weather, a shopping trip to the nearby Belgian town of Knokke is always worthwhile. Here you’ll find numerous boutiques, exquisite restaurants, all the major fashion labels, and the famous beach promenade.
A day in picturesque Bruges is a must. Located 30 km away, the city is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and captivates visitors with its beautiful historic architecture, great markets, world-famous chocolatiers, picturesque canals, and a unique culinary scene. Thanks to its world-renowned culinary schools, Bruges is a paradise for gourmets. The Michelin Guide recommends 82 restaurants within the city walls, and Bruges boasts more Michelin stars than all of Denmark combined.
The property
The vacation home, which we’ve lovingly renovated, is now available for rent again. The interior of the vacation home has been completely redesigned and furnished to a very high standard. Not only the new bathrooms (toilet and shower room) on the first floor, but also the open-concept living area with a large smart TV, a pantry with a washer-dryer, a dining table, and a spacious sofa leave nothing to be desired. The fully equipped kitchen deserves special mention. You won’t find too few pots or pans, missing dishes, or dull knives here.
On the first floor, there is a small desk in the hallway and a large wardrobe. The two bedrooms are also located here. One bedroom is furnished with a box-spring bed (1.80 m) and the other with two single beds (0.9 m).
A new, lighted patio canopy has been installed in the garden, so you can now enjoy the outdoors even in inclement weather. Thanks to its south-facing location, it’s sunny all day long. In the shed, you’ll find a kettle grill (charcoal grill) and two bicycles. You can also charge your e-bikes under the patio canopy.
