Your vacation destination, Aufham, is a small hamlet just outside Eggstatt, located between Salzburg and Munich and near Lake Chiemsee (the “Bavarian Sea”). You can explore the beautiful landscape amid meadows and forests on numerous biking and hiking trails, and swimming enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby lakes. The stress and hustle of everyday life stand no chance in this paradise. All three vacation rentals (WE 5293908 with 1 bedroom, WE 5294290 with 2 bedrooms, and WE 5295783 with 3 bedrooms) feature an east-facing balcony, so you can enjoy the sunrise or wind down at the end of the day.
At our family-run farm, you’ll get to experience farm life with our cows and calves, chickens, cats, and rabbits, as well as typical farm products like fresh milk and eggs. From your lounge chair, you can relax and watch your little ones play in the sandbox with its playhouse, swings, and slide, or cheer them on as they ride the Bobby Car, pedal tractor, tricycle, or go-kart.
A lovely evening barbecue is fun for everyone, but the cozy apartment also offers plenty of space even when the weather is bad. No matter how you want to spend your vacation, the Chiemgau region can fulfill (almost) any wish, regardless of the season. Surrounded by down-to-earth warmth, you can simply be yourself here. Swimming enthusiasts can enjoy the 17 natural lakes of the Eggstätter-Hemhofer Lake District (Europe’s oldest nature reserve) or engage in all kinds of water sports on Lake Chiemsee, such as sailing, kayaking, pedal boating, or motorboating.
Active health care or wellness treatments are available at the neighboring Bad Endorf in the iodine thermal spring.
A mountain hike rewards you with a breathtaking view and a hearty snack at one of the many alpine huts, but of course you can also reach the summit comfortably by gondola, aerial cableway, or cog railway. Young children’s hearts will race during a trip to the Fairy Tale Park, the Forest Animal Park, or the summer toboggan run, while teens can look forward to a tour of the FC Bayern stadium or the salt mine—or put their skills to the test at the climbing forest or on the mini-golf course. Culture lovers are drawn to King Ludwig’s Palace on Herrenchiemsee, Frauenchiemsee Abbey, Seeon Abbey, Amerang Palace with its arboretum, Burghausen, or one of the many museums. Musical events of all kinds (e.g., castle concerts, Musiksommer, Festivo...), local theater, medieval festivals, traditional celebrations, or interesting exhibitions (e.g., at the Lokschuppen in Rosenheim) leave nothing to be desired.
As you can see, there’s always something new to discover, whether you’re spending your vacation here for the first time or have been a longtime fan of the Chiemgau region.
Your hosts, Peter and Irmi Summerer, along with their children Theresa and Hans-Peter and Grandma Elisabeth, look forward to welcoming you to our farm soon!
