This is a perfect spot if you plan to drop your stuff and go explore Grand Rapids all day and just come back to the house to sleep. The listing says two bathrooms but there is only one bathroom. The air conditioner in the large bedroom didn’t work and the ceiling fan was very wobbly and loud, so it did get pretty hot at night in July. One bedroom has a king and queen bed and the other bedroom has a queen bed. It is a great neighborhood, about a 15 min. walk to all the great shopping and restaurants on Wealthy St. and super close to the Frank Lloyd Wright property. The exterior house and property are pretty rundown, though. (It’s possible it has just been purchased and is in the process of being renovated. The main house had a broken window and it was filled with all kinds of stuff, possibly things being torn out to be remodeled). This VRBO is one of two side upstairs apartments of the large historic home. It is up a steep staircase, so I wouldn’t rent it if you have mobility issues or kids with strollers. It was very clean though and had plenty of seating, TVs, a coffee pot and fridge as well as a washer and dryer. It was honestly perfect for what we needed—an affordable place to drop of stuff while we explored this great city and all it has to offer. If you care a lot about having a super nice or newer place to stay, this isn’t for you. For us, it worked great. Sydney responded to our question very quickly.
