Located at MP 6 3/4, Parrot's Perch is 'between the highways' this SAT-SAT cottage is great for a couple, small family, or groups wanting to keep additional family & friends close by. Our home, although in the tradition of the Old Nags Head style, is totally remodeled & up to date. This property is fresh, clean & modern on the inside... and out Parrot's Perch sits on a quiet pond. It's a great place to sit & relax on the Deck to watch the geese, ducks & turtles.

The kitchen is fully equipped, right down to plenty of coffee mugs & wine glasses. Also available is an iron/board, hair dryer & towels are provided at no charge, basic amenities such as soap, paper products & trash bags supplied upon arrival. Bring your own sheets.

Comfortable seating in Living area for a family of 6.

The deck overlooking the pond is a great place to get a tan mid-day and cookout in the evening. Enjoy the front porch for coffee & breakfast in the morning & is a great place to sit & chat in the evenings. We provide a grill and clothes line for our guest's convenience.

The house is located on the ground level so it has easy access for those who need fewer steps.

Restaurants, shopping & movie theaters are with within walking distance. It's quick drive to the historic Wright Brothers Memorial, golf, putt-putt, sound access for water sports, Avalon Pier, Dare County Parks & Rec for basketball courts, tennis & playground. The YMCA for an ADDITIONAL FEE, offers a weekly membership at their facilities including an outdoor pool & more (contact the Y for details).

Wonderful, Parrot Perch!

Our family loved staying at Parrot Perch for our summer vacation this year! The house is adorable, clean, and has all the beachy vibes, just amazing! Feeding the turtles and wildlife were a highlight of the trip! Our dog loved the yard so much! Thank you, we can’t wait to come stay again!

Perfect vacation spot

We had a blast during our stay. The house was very accommodating for pets. I loved the gates on the porches, worked out well for our husky. Seeing all the wildlife in the morning was a huge plus. Location was awesome, close to the beach and across from the grocery store! We will be planning another stay there in the future.

I loved this property and the little things that set it aside from other rentals. The decor is beautiful. The feeling and vibe of the front porch and back deck puts you in vacation mode. This property is well maintained and it shows. The pond and turtles are a superb bonus!!! Close to many restaurants and grocery stores.

Great place for a week away!

Short Stay

going in we knew that we couldn’t stay the whole week. However Parrots Perch made the days we had a wonderful experience. The cottage is decorated beautifully and was very comfortable. But is was the deck over the pond and the turtles and other wildlife that made our stay truly spectacular. We ate all of our meals at the cottage on the deck and leftovers and extra bread went to the permanent residents.

LOVED!

Loved staying at the Parrot's Perch! It is such a nice property and close walk to the beach. The kids especially loved the turtles. We will stay again!

Great cozy cottage

Great "home away from home" feel. Beautifully decorated! Our daughters loved feeding the turtles each morning and evening. Conveniently located with just a short walk to the beach.

Very nice place

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation to the Outer Banks and our stay at Parrots Perch. It was very nice and super clean. The only downside was the proximity to the main highway. However, we would stay here again if we visit OBX.

First trip to OBX

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Parrots Perch. The place was the perfect size for me, my husband and our two dogs. The dogs really enjoyed watching the turtles. We hope to stay again.

Family Vacation

This is the third time that our family of four has stayed at Parrot’s Perch and it has never disappointed! The house is wonderful and cozy and the kids always look forward to seeing the turtles. Perfect for little family

Fantastic property and all the reviews accurately capture what a wonderful place this is. If you have small children this place is perfect with the side deck and fenced in backyard. Turtles in the pond were a huge hit! Would absolutely come back again.

Wonderful Family Getaway

My family really enjoyed our time here! The inside is cozy, and had everything we needed for a family of four (with two younger kids) to feel comfortable. Outside, we really enjoyed sitting on the patio to enjoy the pond and cool sea breeze. The turtles were a lot of fun, and after spending each day at the beach the outside shower was indispensable. Overall, it was a great place for our first OBX vacation.

Sweetest little cottage!

What a gem! Very romantic cottage with modern decor and amenities, well stocked and ready! Lagoon with turtles very charming, and big fenced-in yard for the family pet. We look forward to our next visit!

Wonderful place

We had a wonderful time! The house had everything we needed. Comfortable and perfect for my boyfriend, our dog, and myself. The turtles and egrets in the pond were great to watch in the morning. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

Beautifully maintained cottage, spotless, and well stocked. The back yard and deck were favorite spots(for us and our pup) and enjoyed the gas grill. Feeding the turtles and birds added to the fun. Just a few blocks from the beach! Hope to visit Parrot's Perch again-highly recommend for small family/groups.

Perfect location!

We loved our stay at parrot's perch! The house is beautifully decorated and the perfect size for the two of us. We also loved that we could bring our dog and that the yard was fenced in. Everything was so convenient from the quick walk to the beach to all the brochures in the house letting us know all the fun experiences we could have. We're going to miss our little turtle neighbors swimming over to say hello everytime walked onto the deck!

Wonderful Stay

If we go back to the Outerbanks we will want to stay at OLD NAGS HEAD COTTAGE. The house was great and it was near the beach. The turtles were a lot of fun and the breeze on the patio was perfect. The only thing to be aware of is that it is near a very busy road and you can hear the traffic at times - we brought a sound machine and that helped significantly. Outside of that - the house was amazing and exceptionally clean.

Nice Little house

Small House. A little close to Rte 158 so you can hear traffic. Nice deck over pond though the pond was full of algae. Backyard is large and fenced in and well maintained. it is as advertised short walk to the beach. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed our stay

Cute cottage

This was a clean, adorable, and cozy cottage. It was a little closer to the highway than we were expecting, but an easy walk to the beach and has an excellent yard for dinners, games for the kids and after beach relaxation. The deck over the water was a hit. The turtles were the main attraction for our kids. We are looking forward to returning next year.

We are Mike and Debbie both from Smithfield, VA and have vacationed and enjoyed the Outer Banks for many years.
So after renting 'Parrots Perch' when it came up for sale we knew we wanted it to become our second home.

Its location and single story 'Old Nags Head' cottage style fits our needs perfectly. The grass with NO sand cactus in the large back yard for pets and children was an added plus!! The deck off the kitchen allows quiet reflections while watching the area wild life enjoying the neighboring pond.
