Had a great time at this location - Loved the Bay access (kayaking, crabbing) and the Sunsets. Carrie was also very responsive when we ran into Wifi connectivity issues. Close to the beach (10 min walk) and easy bike ride to and from Duck. Thanks Carrie!

House was in a great location, views of the sound was amazing, dock, and easy walk across the street (5 min walk) to the beach. Needed some pest control, as ants and spiders were everywhere outside and inside. Cleanliness could be better… laundry room / car port area was a mess lights didn’t work under the house, luckily we brought a camping lantern to get laundry out in the dark, old unused chairs and stuff laying around. Outside corner motion light could be adjusted to provide light to parking area, as it only came on when car entered driveway The screened in porch area is falling apart and grill was nasty (we had to clean it before we could use it).

Adorable house in a great location!

The house was in an amazing location and had most everything we needed during our stay. The area is beautiful with lots to see and do!

The location and view of the bay are not in question. Those were great other than the sewer smell but that we are not sure of it's origin. Dog friendly is fine but when the couches, carpet, etc are covered in hair, it's very hard to relax and feel clean. It was obvious that the maintenance and cleanliness of the entire unit had been neglected for some time. We found a cockroach on the kitchen counter (alive). Amenities that were stated as things they had, they did not (listed beach chairs and we could only find 1 broken one). The policy of this VRBO was they did not provide linens or paper products such as sheets, towels, or TP. The property manager should consider re-evaluating this since it sounded as it was established during Covid19. Who goes to a place and packs their own sheets and towels?! Seemed a little silly but just make sure to read the fine print and remember when your trip comes. We tried to reach out to Jamie about cleanliness and she didn't respond at all. The hottub was clean and we enjoyed it along with the deck.

We had to leave this property early, and Vrbo ultimately refunded our stay. Unfortunately, the home was not in the condition we expected based on the listing photos.During our stay, we found bugs inside the home, multiple stains, a broken shower door, broken outdoor furniture/equipment, and areas where pieces of the ceiling were falling. The home also appeared to need significant maintenance overall. In addition, the road noise was much louder than we anticipated and made it difficult to enjoy the property.Based on our experience, the listing photos did not accurately reflect the property’s current condition. I hope the owner addresses these maintenance and cleanliness issues before renting the home again so future guests have the experience they expect.

It wasn't a very good stay. The house itself didn't have any TVs that worked. No toilet paper, no essentials, nothing. Also, there's a tree out front that blocks the entire view of the sound. So if you want to rent a house to see the Hassan it's impossible to do that because of the gigantic tree blocking your.

We had a great time in Duck. The house is in the perfect location for sound and beach access. We loved the bike path and the kayaks are a nice touch!

OBX getaway with the family

Had a great time at the house. First vacation in year. House was great. The weather was amazing. Super helpful host. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Excellent property well within walking distance to beach. Nice amenities. HVAC setup while we were there was less than desirable.

The house had NO running water, the AC did NOT work and it was over 80 degrees inside the house, very dirty inside including a bad odor, outside was covered with spiders, and the landscape was not well maintained. Given those immediate observations, we chose not to inspect the hot tub as there is no way the hot tub had been maintained either. It was a surprise trip for our children for Easter weekend and had to turn around and drive 5 hours home in the middle of the night.

We had a great New Years’s vacation at this place. Hands down the best part is the hot tub overlooking the sound - hot tub sunsets are a must! But the rest of the house was great too. Jamie was super responsive every time we had a question and that helped a lot. We did experience some WiFi issues - it was shotty most of the time but really only impacted us when we couldn’t watch a movie on TV. Our phones worked just fine. The house came equipped with everything we needed for staying in, cooking meals, and being comfortable. We will def be coming back!

Beautiful, cozy house sound front. Osprey sightings every day. Close to downtown Duck. We will be back.

Another Year of Relaxation

Many things to recommend this rental -- location on sound and near beach, well-maintained hot tub, deck, general coziness. Although many other houses are gargantuan, this one is perfect for our small family. Have appreciated the opportunity to use the Sunfish sailboat (with permission!).

Beautiful sunsets on the bay

Awesome house in the perfect location. We enjoyed sunsets every night from the hot tub at the house or on the dock. Walk 5 min to the beach or kayak right from the house. Very dog friendly, including dog life vests and toys. House is as described and in pictures - deck and dock are very new. Great place to stay for our first trip to the outer banks!

Sound lovers!

This property has the best decks for “sound” lovers like us. It suited our needs. The only issue we had was no internet and so that meant no tv.

Great stay

The property was wonderful and we loved staying here. They have a brand new dock and a great deck. They’re minutes away from downtown duck. Downside is it’s right on the road so you hear cars going by. There are also a ton of bugs that get in the house every time you open the doors. But they’ve got kayaks, crab traps and corn hole so we had ourselves a fun time. And the inside of the property was clean. Bring your own sheets and towels.

Can't beat the view

Nice house, right on the sound that offers a beautiful sunset view. The house is close to the beach (about a .3 mile walk) and offers plenty of toys -- from kayaks to bikes, etc. The hot tub offered a relaxing place to hang out at night. The location is on a busy road and at night the lights from traffic come streaming in the master bedroom. It's very annoying and could be easily fixed with black out shades or curtains. The house could use a deep cleaning inside and out. There were lots of spiders but not sure if its just because of the time of year or not.

Nice but needs a bit of cleaning.

Overall, the property is nice, although it definitely needs a good cleaning, particularly the outside. There were spiderwebs and spiders everywhere outside all over the furniture side of the house the doorways, especially the screened in porch was basically unusable. Host was very helpful and attentive when it came to checking in and communicating even allowed us to check in a little bit early, which was great. Only suggestion would be to give the house a good exterior cleaning and things would’ve been a lot better. Would recommend however, location was good. Also, the grass was not mowed when we got there. It was ankle tall. They did end up mowing it a couple of days after we got there and it looked a lot better.

Family Vaca

Pictures are not accurate for the house. You cannot see the water unless you’re standing in one particular corner of the deck only and house was filthy. Spiders and ants were constant. We were always having to put food away and clean countertops. House was not dusted windows were filthy and on top of that customers are asked to vacuum the house before they leave so obviously no one’s cleaning it. Could not enjoy eating outside on the deck, because the road noise was awful-no restful sleep the entire time we stayed because of the road noise. Pay very close attention to reviews.
