Summertime - 7-night Friday to Friday Rentals Only.

Soaring 30 foot ceilings, a stone fireplace, and a view of beautiful Lake Ida greet you at Gehrke's Point Getaway.

This private home sits 50 feet from the water, and is rented for only 3 or 4 weeks each summer.

Located only minutes from Alexandria, this property features 203 feet of lakeshore and a one-of-a-kind custom built Cape Cod home.

Extraordinary 5 BR/3 BA (sleeps up to12) features gourmet kitchen w/stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and center island, lovely formal entry, wet bar and a generous main floor laundry. Lakeside master suite has a huge walk in closet, glass block shower & double sink vanity. This is an amazing and unique vacation property.

The upper level boasts 2 bedrooms (plus a queen size fold-away-bed) and a spacious sitting area, along with bathroom, shower and ping pong table.

Step outside & appreciate the beautiful outdoors. Enjoy a walk along the lake, swim from the sandy beach or fish off the dock.

*This is also a winter wonderland. A paradise for snowmobiling and cross-county skiing. Ride for miles on groomed snow mobile trails or cross-county ski on the groomed trails in Carlos State Park, just minutes away. Ande's Alps ski area is 25 minutes away with tubing and snow skiing. Call for nightly winter rates, minimum three night stay.

Tom's property is beautiful! We were 3 families with 5 kids under 6 and there was room for them to play in separate areas. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking large meals, with plenty of dishes. The sandy beach was perfect for the kids and fishing off the dock was great. Tom is a delight to work with. The company from which we rented a crib and toddler chair had an issue and found working with Tom very easy! He is very responsive and worked to make our stay fabulous.

This is a very special lake home and the owner is very easy to work with and extremely helpful. Our family enjoyed some lake time and fellowship. Fishing off the dock is great!

Great Location

Great Location on Lake Ida. Easy to stay in Little Ida if get too windy on the lake. Great Dock set up and being ability to use boat lift was Great!. Loved the Open kitchen great home feel with being able to walk out to the deck. Nice green flat yard for kids to play games and activities.

Family vacation 2024

We enjoyed our stay very much. Our kids and grandkids asked to book again for next year they loved it that much. I contacted the owners prior to leaving to check on towels…glad I did since they aren’t provided. Also the porch bedroom isn’t air conditioned so it was very warm in there. Other than that we will definitely be going back next year.

Amazing time at the lake

We rent a house in the area every summer and this is by far the best! We found it last year and this is the first time we have stayed at in the same spot twice. The beach is sandy, the lake is big and has a nice sandbar. Great fishing and swimming. The house has a huge kitchen, great for cooking and eating with a big group. Comfortable beds too! Highly recommend.

Annual family vacay

My family and I gather at the lake each year and this place has been one of our favorites! Tom, the host, was very responsive. We loved the lake access and the kitchen was perfect! Can't wait to stay again.

Fabulous Vacation Home!

This property has it all! Our family of 9 adults was very comfortable in this beautiful and carefully outfitted vacation home. We enjoyed the level yard fronting on the lake and the putting-green lawn made it easy and fun to play games. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful pontoon on beautifully clear Lake Ida. Thanks for sharing with us!

Love lake Ida, beautiful property!!

We usually stay on the chain, but tried lake Ida this year and loved it! This property is beautiful, huge lawn and beach for the kids to play and beautiful gardens and outdoor fireplace. Inside was big enough for 3 small families to stay- we put all the kids upstairs and they loved it. Huge kitchen and comfortable beds. Owner was great! Very nice and very communicative, we rented their pontoon for the week as well and it was perfect to take to the sandbar. Only thing that was unusual was they wanted us to bring our own bath towels /hand towels/ washcloths. Have never had that before in my many VRBO rentals and obviously you can’t travel with towels so had to buy some just for the stay. Overall it was amazing and we would definitely love to stay here again.

Great time with grandchildren

We loved our stay at this beautiful home on Lake Ida. Our grandchildren (ages 5-7) had a ball swimming, pontooning, playing on the lily pad and learning how to paddleboard. The house was perfect for our stay. We would love to return some day!

Just wow. The house was perfect for us! Everyone had a place to rest their head, and with 3 bathrooms (showers) in the house, we didn't waste a ton of time on nightly rotation. The kitchen was perfect for all of our meals. Sitting at the bar or at the table we had no trouble making meals a success. The garage made an easy pass through for sandy feet, wet towels, etc that didn't need to go through the house. The laundry room was a perk that did NOT go unused. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood every morning, sipping coffee on the back deck, fishing morning, noon, and night from the shore and the dock and making friends with the dogs next door. There was dock jumping, kayaking, paddle boating, tubing, and more to be had at this perfect location. The owner was friendly, receptive and communicated promptly - a joy in a world lacking in customer service! The only recommendation I would make: 1) Clothes line back up is a must with large parties. I would much rather hang 12 towels to dry instead of making the dryer do the work; 2) consider formal steps from the dock to the lake for any old folks who visit your home. Thank you for allowing us the gift of this location! A perfect place for the last week in July! See ya next time!

Beautiful property!

We enjoyed our stay on Lake Ida. We found the owner to be very receptive to our communications. The home was very clean, well equipped, and comfortable. Fishing was good and the younger kids enjoyed the lily pad and paddle boat. Great lake for a pontoon, kayaking, and tubing.

Lake Ida doesn't disappoint

This fabulous home is in a great location at the far north end of Lake Ida. It is beautifully appointed and so welcoming. The owner was wonderful to work with and had many suggestions to add to our good time. The water in the lake was crystal clear and is shallow near the shore. Our crew was all about learning the stand up paddle board and the weather provided ample opportunity to do just that. We had yard games set up and the front yard had plenty of room to enjoy them all. There is a spot for a fire every night and there was wood available to make it happen. S'MORES galore! There is a vine covered arbor like structure near the fire area and is strung with solar lights that created almost a magical light effect as the setting sun retired and they came on. We rented the pontoon for the week and enjoyed it several times each day. Wonderful memories made!

Great family get away !!

Beautiful home and grounds. Was well equipped kitchen with all we needed! Nice swimming area. Brought our yard games with great space for play. Plenty space for 5 adults and 3 youth.

Fabulous Family Vacation

It was a very welcoming and inviting home. Our family of 14 had a great vacation together in this lake home. We had the unusual experience of 4 days of rain in mid July with gusty winds, normally a disaster with a houseful of active children. The kids (6 of them between the ages of 7-11) played games, sat in the jaccuzzi under a covered porch, and watched movies on a big screen TV with Netflix access. There is so much beautiful space in the home that no one felt stressed. When the weather cooperated we enjoyed great swimming, playing on the "lily pad", the paddle boat, and the stand-up paddle board all provided by the owner. The adults enjoyed the same amenities as well as ping-pong tournaments, fishing, and night time around the outdoor fireplace. The beds were comfortable, there is more than ample bathroom facilities, and the spacious refrigerator accommodated all of our food needs for a group. We would definitely enjoy gathering in this great place again.

PERFECT!

Tom and Sara's home exceeded our expectations even though we had previewed it 10 months earlier on a trip to Minnesota. I'm originally from Parkers Praire, and have family in the area. There were 7 of us(our 3 adult children, plus one boyfriend and girlfriend.) We had planned to use the home as a base to visit friends and family, but found ourselves never wanting to leave. We carefully planned short trips/visits, but always returned to Gehrke's Pt. as quickly as possible. The home has everything you will need and more. It is very comfortable and functional, but equally or more impressive is how beautiful the home is, and the location. During our stay, we traveled the complete perimeter of the lake by boat and we could not find one location that we liked better. The sunsets were amazing every night, and having 200 of lake shore/lawn, with a great swimming beach just out your back door was amazing. Tom and Sara were very attentive to questions during check in and check out, and throughout our stay. When planning our next trip to Lake Ida, the first call we will make is to Tom and Sara. Thank you for a very memorable family vacation.

Perfect year round getaway

We are originally from Alexandria and Lake Ida is by far the best lake in the area - one of the best in Minnesota. We've stayed at this getaway two years in a row. The house is gorgeous, and the beach is sandy with perfect elevation. The owners kept in touch with us to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We our looking forward to next year. A Great Family Escape

Fantastic! We had a great week staying on Lake Ida! This home is impeccably maintained and stocked with anything one might need for a fabulous week at the lake. In addition, Tom and Sara were very receptive and helpful in answering all our questions during our stay. The home exceeded our expectations and was well suited for our two families. The yard and beach area were perfect for our young children and we enjoyed many hours outside enjoying the beautiful views. We also got the opportunity to have fun on the water thanks to a great recommendation for a boat rental from Tom. My only suggestion would be to get a cheap set of kids Ikea dishes (plates, bowls, etc). The dishes in the house were both plentiful and beautiful, but we were always worried about little hands breaking something! We would certainly recommend this home to friends, family, and anyone else looking for a comfortable retreat on a gorgeous lake. We look forward to returning next summer! Awesome weekend!

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We had a girls weekend get-together and it couldn't have been more perfect. The owner was very accommodating and had great communication. It was perfect for our group! We for sure would recommend staying here and hope to again in the future!!

Fantastic Retreat in the lake country!

Wow - what a wonderful home. Thanks Tom and Sara for opening up your cabin to us. My sales management team left Alexandria with great memories of snowmobiling, ice fishing, great food and great fun. We are hoping to come back this summer for more fishing and some boating…. in addition to getting some work done. Meeting amenities were great - the white board and the 50" wireless display for our computers along with the private office made this trip both fun and productive. Thanks for everything.
