Charming cottage 2 blocks from the beach

This vacation home has been beautifully renovated with the idea that a rental can feel unique and personal rather than generic and impersonal. Located in the beach community of Whalehead in Corolla, this upscale home features two en suite master bedrooms and two bedrooms having two twin beds each and a shared bathroom -- perfect for one or two families, a girls’ weekend, or a couple wanting a cozy home that's neither too big nor too small.

For the hot summer months, the private pool is refreshing, and the covered pergola poolside will allow for hours spent reading, napping or socializing without getting sunburned. And the fun can continue into the evening with the grill fired up and the lights on! There is a double swing on the mid-level deck, also a nice spot to enjoy by yourself or with a companion.

The house comes with beach umbrellas and chairs, as well as a decent collection of boogie boards and sandcastle building "equipment" for the kids. There’s also a cart to carry all this, making the short walk to the beach even easier. It’s only a three minute walk down a nice paved boardwalk to the beach. For those familiar with Whalehead, this is the Barracuda Walkway.

The house also offers some privacy, as it is surrounded by stands of pines, making it feel like it’s tucked in its own little cocoon.
