This lovely 4BR, 2 bathroom home in Founders Landing is perfect for a family getaway any time of year. The four large bedrooms can comfortably sleep 8, and a queen sleeper sofa in the den can allow you to spread out if needed. We've even got a pack-n-play for the littlest northforker. The house features a brand new chef's kitchen, den with flatscreen TV (including cable!), ceiling fans, wireless internet access, and central A/C. In the colder months, cozy up to the warmth of two no fuss gas wood stoves.

Located on a quiet street that's perfect for kids (or adults looking to get away from it all), the flat yard is perfect for barbecuing, with a gas grill and awesome outdoor bar (with fridge and TV). Read on the hammock, lounge in the shade of the covered bar, take an outdoor shower, light up the outdoor fire pit, play a game of bocce ball, or swim in the heated, salt water pool. Then, when the sun goes down, kick back with some local wine, and watch a movie al fresco.

The house is perfect for car-less NYC families. It is walking distance (10 min) from both the Hampton Jitney stop and the Southold LIRR station. Once here, you’re just a short 5 minute walk to Founders Landing Beach Park, a lovely Sound beach with picnic tables, swings and slide for the kids, a bathroom and lifeguards on duty (July 1 to Labor Day) with a roped-off swimming area. It is also a short walk into Southold Village featuring shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and more. The Blue Duck Bakery, NoFo Coffee Roasters, Grateful Deli, Wayside Market, Caci, Founder's Tavern and Country Corner Café/Ice Cream Shop are all less than five blocks away, as is the North Fork Table and Inn, one of Long Island’s best restaurants. Or cook at home in a BRAND NEW fully-stocked kitchen with everything you need to put together a locally-sourced meal from local farms. You can also bike to one of the North Fork’s renowned wineries (we have two bikes available for your use). Coming by car? Greenport Village, with its many shops and restaurants, movie theater and carousel, is just a 10 minute drive away.

Fantastic family home

Something for all ages - lots of toys, etc. for little ones and plenty to keep adults happy too. Perfect beach for young children.

Wonderful beach house!

Excellent location.. short walk to beach. The house was well equipped for our family and was also child friendly which helped a lot since we traveled with young kids. A lot of fun for the adults too with the outdoor fire pit, and tv.. Lauren was always reachable and quick to answer any questions we had! Would definitely return :)

wonderful house and lovely owners

The house is well represented in pictures. Very clean. Great location. The owners are nice and real people who seem to genuinely care about their property and your enjoyment during the stay. Highly recommended.

Perfect NOFO spot!!

This was the perfect spot for us!! We had a family reunion on LI. Our immediate family stayed here. We had 6 adults, a 3 yo & a 9 month old. There was plenty of room for everyone. The beach, just a short walk down the street, was so nice. The restaurants, wineries & location to Greenport makes this house a perfect location. I would definitely stay again!! Thanks so much.

Amazing house!!

Perfect for adults and children. Everything is spotless, fully stocked kitchen, all amenities readily available. Location was great too. Nearby deli, coffee, restaurants all close by. Huge backyard with a fire pit and a brand new BBQ grill. We loved it here. Cooked dinners & breakfasts. Hope to return again soon!

Lovely stay in the North Fork

This home was perfect for our group. We had a wedding nearby and needed space for 4 couples. There are 4 bedrooms which made this space ideal as well as the open concept layout and large kitchen. The backyard is a great space to gather with a fire pit to enjoy at night. Michaels communication was quick and thorough. We had a lovely stay!

Great stay/house and host

We stayed there recently and it was a great place for us (3 couples with small kids). The house has a great, open layout on the first floor and the backyard is fantastic for socializing. There's even an outside bar and firepit in addition to the grill. Location was great as we'd take walks to the beach, food truck and stores on the main road. Good stores (butcher, supermarket, pizzeria, wine store, etc.) and restaurants in town as well as neighboring towns. The bedrooms were great for the kids (books, toys, bunk beds, etc.). Host was very responsive to questions and requests. All in all, money well spent and we'd definitely return for our next stay in the North Fork.

Exactly what we needed and wanted!

A group of 7 of us friends from college (and spouses) needed a place to stay out on the North Fork at the beginning of June. Hotels proved to be prohibitively expensive/booked up and we specifically wanted to be in Southold to be close by to another of our friend's family's summer home. Through vrbo, we were fortuitously led to the Kleiman's lovely home. Southold and the house are perfectly located; they are both easily reached by LIRR or via the ferry (some of us were coming from NYC, and some further afield: CT & MA) and it was never more than a 10-15 minute drive to the various wineries nearby or to Greenport. The owners, Mike and his wife Lauren, were conscientious and helpful during the reservation process and beyond, and we were greeted thoughtfully with North Fork potato chips and coffee to be enjoyed during our stay in their clean, comfortable, and well appointed (and incredibly relaxing!) home. 5 of us slept upstairs (2 in one of the Queens, 2 in the twin beds, and one in the room with the bunk beds). Another couple stayed in another one of the Queens downstairs. There was more than enough space and privacy so that we were all comfortable sleeping-wise, the common spaces were spacious and cozy, and the bathrooms were *very* nice (especially for those of us used to tiny Manhattan showers). We were all quite busy during our time in Southold so we only briefly checked out the nearby beach during a stroll through the neighborhood. And we didn't spend much time in the back yard, although we certainly would have liked to. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here; I think we were all ready to move right on in for good!

best week ever :)

We stayed at the Shipyard Lane home for just over a week and absolutely loved every minute of it. The home is well-appointed with beautiful appliances and furnishings. We ate in most days, enjoying the huge open kitchen and backyard dining area. With a toddler and newborn, we knew we were taking a risk on renting for a week at the beach, but the home and location were both fantastic. There were plenty of toys for our toddler to borrow and enjoy and lots of space so that the crying newborn didn't wake anyone up at night! The home is extremely family friendly, with bikes (with kid seats!), sand toys, a wagon, ride-on cars and other fun summer toys in the garage, an outdoor shower for post-beach rinse-offs, and lots of space to run! Location wise, we were walking distance from cafes and the lunch truck, which we took advantage for daily coffee and croissant walks and most importantly, we were a short walk to Founder's Landing, a beach that doubled as a playground and swimming pool - PERFECT for little swimmers. We walked or biked to the beach every day, where we splashed in the quiet bay waters, caught sand crabs and completely exhausted our toddler before heading home (short 7 minute walk) for long naps! We loved our week in Southold and are very sad that are vacation is over! We sincerely hope to become repeat visitors! The owners, Lauren and Mike, were incredibly responsive to any of our questions and quickly solved any of our (tiny) problems. We were very grateful and felt welcomed and well taken care of!

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at this welcoming, charming immaculate home. There were three generations of family in our group, and everyone was happy. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the open floor plan downstairs made it easy to hang out together. The neighborhood is lovely, and it's a very short walk to the little beach and playground in one direction, and a bakery and other shops in the other. Lauren and Michael were great to work with -- responsive to questions before and during our stay, and even left out toys appropriate for our grandchild. Highly recommend.

Awesome!

We had an awesome time staying in this house and would recommend it to anyone! We stayed here for two weeks with two young children. The first week my parents stayed with us and the second week my brother in law and his family stayed with us. It was the perfect house and super spacious. Everything was clean, comfortable and well taken care of. The kitchen was beautiful with great appliances and we were able to cook some meals at the house. The backyard had an outdoor bar with a TV and a fire pit for relaxing at night. I also want to note that this house was a short walk to Founder's Landing Beach, which was beautiful and also great for kids as it has swings and a slide right on the sand. The house also included many kids toys, including motor cars, train and a t-ball set, which also made it great for my kids! Finally, the house was not only walking distance to the beach, but also to the town of Southold. It was a great house and it was perfect for both the kids and adults. Would 100% stay here again!

Perfect North Fork Getaway

This house was perfection! I cannot say enough great things about it. Our tribe included two families, each with two kids under 5, and one set of grandparents, to celebrate my Mom's 60th. The home is even cuter in real life, but has ample room. It's deceptively big! We used the den to getaway from the action. The backyard is well thought out; we used the bar, outdoor shower, fire pit, picnic table, hammock, and lawn games daily. Our kids stayed busy with the bikes, pool, and other toys. The 10 of us even took a bike/ferry ride to Shelter Island, with some of the house bikes. My sister said the garage is the gift that keeps on giving! We walked to shops/bakeries/coffee shop, and the beach. Mike and Lauren were great to work with - very responsive and thorough. This was a dream vacation and I can't wait to go back to this awesome home!!

Amazing stay!

My friends and I just stayed at this incredible home and we loved it! We had the hardest time leaving on Sunday. Mike was so wonderful to work with and always got back to me quickly with any questions that I had. The house is absolutely gorgeous. We particularly loved the backyard. There was so much room and plenty of seating for all of us to enjoy. The rooms were all spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is perfect! The house is in a great location and there's plenty of places that you can walk to. We all loved our time here and kept raving about how amazing the house is. Can't wait to come back for our next stay!!

Comfy home, relaxing neighborhood.

Stayed here with a 1-year old, wife, 60-year-old in-laws and it was great for everyone. A little beach within walking distance. A little bakery within walking distance. A great backyard and a wonderful kitchen. Beds and sofas as comfy as they come. And great towns and wineries within a short drive. Would stay here again happily.

Perfect house for a birthday getaway with friends!

I would recommend this house for families, friends, or for even a romantic weekend away from the city. The house is so spacious and well laid out. It was a comfortable fit for 9 of us. The kitchen is spacious and great place to make dinner as a group. We all live in the city and this house almost converted us to suburban life. Amazing space and decoration. The owners thought of everything! The outside space is perfect to hang out post dinner. It is also so close to everything you need: wine store, farm stand, IGA, the BEACH!. Can't wait to go back..........

Not Long Enough!

Wonderful home that is close to everything. Owners were very accommodating and responsive. Take a bike and cycle out to Shelter island ( via Ferry ! ). Only problem was a week is not enough time. Eat the fresh produce from the local farmers and enjoy prepping the food in very well stocked kitchen. Out door shower and then a cold cocktail by the Tiki Bar after the beach or a long cycle was worth the admission. Will be back.

Perfect trip!

This is an amazing house and I would recommend it to anyone. The owners are incredibly accommodating and the house is clean, convenient and well equipped. I rented it for a weekend away with 8 girls and it slept everyone comfortably. The best part of the house is the outdoor sitting area - after a day at the beach its a great house to come back to. It's close to town, the beach and a short drive to wineries.

Southold Dream House!

I love everything about this home! The location is perfect! We walked to coffee shops, restaurants, bakery, etc. No car was needed, other than to drive to the wineries (Oh, so many wineries!). The kitchen is amazing! It's new, but fits perfectly in the old-style home. My only regret is that we had to leave before using the back yard with the fire-pit and bar area. There is an outdoor shower, too. You really must see this house to appreciate its charm. It's even better than the photos! There were five in our group, but more would easily have fit. The rooms are ample and quite comfortable. The owner was always available to answer any questions about the area, etc. Truly loved our stay!

September on the North Fork!

This home is amazing to say the least. Everything was exactly as promised and more. The owners truly have set a relaxing home away from home for their guests, we did not want for a thing. I had a few quick questions, and the owner was immediately available each time to help me out. We visited Greenport and area vineyards as recommended, spent many relaxing hours in the back yard watching TV and playing darts at the bar, as well as walked to the beach multiple times each day. My family literally did not want to leave, we had such an amazing time. We can not wait to be welcomed there again.

Amazing Family Vacation!

My family spent a week here this summer and we had a wonderful time. Here's why: 1. Well taken care of home! The house was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need. The backyard is an awesome place to relax! 2. Very responsive owners. The owners were extremely helpful and available to answer any questions. We had never been to the North Fork before and their renting manual really helped us plan our vacation. We took many of their restaurant and activity suggestions. 3. Close to everything! This home is a short walk to the beach. We had two toddlers with us and the beach was perfect for them. (The house provided beach chairs, towels and beach toys!) We walked to breakfast and lunch in town daily. We also biked to many of the vineyards. Greenport, Shelter Island and Orient State Park were just a short drive. We take an East Coast family beach vacation every summer and this was our favorite! We highly recommend staying in this home!

Excellent Stay!

My friends and I stayed here over 4th of July weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. There were 10 of us. The house was the perfect size for our group. The outdoor area was as awesome as the pictures suggest. It rained one of the days and we were still able to have a great time outside in the bar area watching the World Cup and playing darts. The house is a very short walk from the beach which we took full advantage of on the other days, and the house was stocked with extra toiletries and other amenities such as beach towels and quality kitchenware. On one of days we had my family join us for a lobster bake along with my 1 year old nephew - the house was very kid friendly with a highchair and crib that he napped in. Thank you to the owner and his family, we would love to stay again!
