Welcome to the Forsthaus—the Mahn family’s home for many years and a place we love to share with guests. The house was built in 1909 and has been in the family for over 50 years. Surrounded by meadows, fields, and the small “Ehbruch” wood, this detached house sits on a spacious lot on the quiet outskirts of the Baltic Sea resort town of Nienhagen.
The vacation rental is located in a side wing of the half-timbered house. A separate entrance leads you into the hallway with a coat closet, from which you enter the bright living area with an integrated, open kitchen and dining area. While one person prepares a meal, the other can make themselves comfortable on the couch or in the cozy reading chair.
From the living area, you can proceed to the bedroom with a double bed and a spacious closet, as well as to the adjacent bathroom with a shower. Both rooms face west and are bathed in warm light, especially in the evening hours. From the bed, the view extends into the garden and across to the forest.
The spacious garden with mature trees offers many lovely spots—for breakfast outdoors or quiet reading sessions on the sun lounger. In the evening, the grill and fire pit invite you to wind down the day outdoors.
Right outside the door lies the small Ehbruch forest—a quiet, unspoiled coastal forest whose name likely derives from the alders that once grew here. Right next door lies the famous “Ghost Forest,” which, with its gnarled trees and shifting light, has a special atmosphere in every season. Both are perfect for short walks or longer hikes.
The surrounding area is also wonderful to explore: Bad Doberan, Warnemünde, and the Hanseatic city of Rostock are less than 20 minutes away by car. The beach is about a five-minute drive or a ten-minute bike ride away along a beautiful route through the forest.
The Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route also runs through the town, allowing you to take wonderful trips along the coast, for example toward Heiligendamm or Kühlungsborn.
For your daily needs, there’s a well-stocked supermarket in town where you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing stay, from fresh groceries to small everyday items.
We look forward to welcoming you.
